First, this is not a condo complex. Sure, people "buy" homes (most likely in foreclosure) but they immediately rent them out to the slums of Arlington society, sadly - self included. I rented here out of desperation and regret every penny I ever poured into this trashy dump. I did not live alone. Oh no. I was invaded numerous times by the rat and mouse army as well as bombarded from above by the roach airforce. No matter how clean I kept my house, these critters kept attacking me day and night. Eating through my food and making it impossible to eat in my own house. Afterall, who wants to eat on plates that mice have walked all over? Again, it doesn't matter how clean you keep your pad, you will have creatures invading your space and no amount of d-CON or Raid will stop them. I had a basket full of all of my scarves and the mouse chewed, shat and pissed through it making a nest. The amount of property damage I'll never recover from. Even worse, I woke up to these critters on my bed thus giving me insomnia most likely for the rest of my life. I had my unit sprayed every 2 weeks from May - October and nothing worked. Proof this place is cured to be damned. I also want to add that roaches could be found IN my dishwasher after a fresh cycle. Proving once more that even the cleanest of spaces held roaches. No matter what Google maps says, you're far from everything. The metro is a solid 20 minutes away on the welfare bus. There's a Food Star supermarket up the street that's equally as depressing as the complex itself so basically you're stuck in your shitty house 24/7. The walls aren't very thick. You can hear the sounds of "La Cucaracha" blaring at all hours of the day and night. There's always contruction going on so your hopes of sleeping in past 8am are shattered. Basically, I've got no sleep for the past 12 months. Oh, and there's always some immigrant attorney soliciting business at any given hour. How annoying. No, I don't speak Spanish. The dumpsters are located a solid 5 minute walk from the complex so people don't take out their trash thus causing even more reason for pests to build up. There's also no recycling. Yeah, Fred Court Condos hate the planet. Parking is a nightmare. There's permit parking that's never inforced so good luck finding a spot when you come home at 3am from drowning your sorrows at the local bar. And there's ZERO street parking so you have no where to leave your ride and your friends have nowhere to park when they come visit. Security sucks. The ouside doors aren't locked so I've come home to homeless men sleeping in the hallways and when they leave in the moring the area smells like rotten piss. Don't do any online shopping because if you have packages sent to your house there is no package room and the "management" office won't sign for them. I've had 2 packages stolen before I finally wised up. The complex is on a radiator system so they are in control of if there is heat or not in your apartment. By law, the heat is supposed to be turned on by 15OCT. When I moved out on 30OCT the heat had still not been turned on and the management office refused to provide space heaters. This is also a curse in the spring when the heat is STILL ON and it's 90 degrees outside. There is no central air so invest in a good amount of fans and AC window units. There is a managent office here but since you're in a condo they're pretty much useless. What they are good about is letting muthafuckers into your house without permission!! I woke up on Oct 18 to a man breaking into my unit. He said he was there to look at my radiator to make sure it wasn't leaking. I did not authorize this! The fact these people have keys to your unit and abuse it is CRIMINAL. The laundry rooms are also a joke. I mean seriously - there is 2 washers and 3 dryers for the entire complext. WTH. You can never do laundry because they are always in use. Bottom line this place is a total shit show. Do NOT move here. Do not pass go - do not collect bed bugs, let your $200 slide. NOT WORTH IT DO NOT WANT!! BAAAAD SHITTY SHIT SHIT SHOW! I could continue to name off how horrible my life has been over the past 12 months but I'm worn down. I've only had a positive experience with Jamal, but with his promotion we are left with a guy who sits in the corner slouched down like his mom made him come to work and new employees who don't have a clue what's happening because they are too new so we cannot really fault them. My daughter said that Lucien is good, but I don't have personal experience with them so I cannot personally validate this. What I can validate is the location is good, but take note of these reviews when you are looking. If you can repair your own appliances, then you shouldn't have a problem.

The downside to the Wisconsin House is the management. For the majority of the time I was living there the building manager was amazing, dedicated, and helpful. She cared a lot for the building and it showed. She recently retired and the new building manager is beyond incompetent. She doesn't hear well, and forgets everything. She was never available, didn't answer her phone, and kept the most inconvenient office hours - if she was in the office at all. Packages were always missing, and coordinating the move-out was a nightmare. The management company (Fred A Smith) are all extremely nice poeple, but the company is quite behind the times. Yes, it's old--it was built in 1928--and it doesn't have a gym (but we may be getting a roof deck). There is a common laundry room on the main floor. But these are far outweighed by the friendly ambience and the convenience, and PRICE. Units remain one of the best bargains in this very expensive area. The street is gorgeous and quiet, but everything is right around the corner. It's a wonderful place to live.

I am beyond done with this building/management. This ROACH INFESTED building is a dump. I've left…read moreinternal reviews but it's time for a public one. 1. Management here is unresponsive. You can email all you like but you will not get a response. To date I have only gotten one response for issues I've reached out about and when I did get a response the Asst Manager said I needed to email a specific address, which I did and have those emails in the my Hecht's communication folder. Being gaslight like I'm a dummy who can't email. Ok. They are never available, either on a call or in a meeting but never free to actually speak to residents. 2. This building has ROACHES AND MICE. Hallways, stairwells, amenities and even units are having this issue bc of how dirty this place is. Keep in mind there is a bakery located downstairs that sells pastries to the entire DMV area. The main building cannot be the only area with a pest issue when the bakery is a source for food. 3. Amenities are apparently being charged at an hourly rate. An hourly rate for broken amenities and roaches throughout the area. I've seen the roaches and to date items are still broken. And you want $150 an hour to rent? Is the money going to something else bc why is nothing fixed if this is the rate you're charging. 4. Walls are THIN. If you like voyeurism through sound this is the place for you. I know everybody's business bc of how thin these walls are. 5. Units are ill kept and not properly turned over after move outs. I moved two hours to this building only to arrive to a dirty unit. Imagine driving for two hours and having to hold your move in so you can spend another two hours cleaning your unit. I told staff, nothing was done and no one cared. 6. The loading dock is DISGUSTING! The lack of oversight and maintenance is why it looks the way it does and why any/everyone can access it. The trash is here, left over furniture is here and the pigeon nest that smells like poop is here. Again, all sources for pest infestation the building is seeing right now. Again, there is bakery in this building right next to the loading dock, I would never eat from this place or anywhere it sells to. 7. Dog owners can do whatever they want here. The pee on the steps when you enter is pretty much a Hechts staple. Flies are everywhere in this area along with mice bc dog pee is an attraction for these types of pests. Notices never go out about this, and no one stops them. I've watched management, security and concierge watch ppl let their dogs pee there and they don't say a word. 8. The foam padding between the concrete in the garage ceiling is literally falling and hanging throughout the 6th floor. Its clear maintenance is being deferred in the building but especially in this area. If you're an engineer reading this I'm sure you understand the concern here. It's so bad that if it's raining outside even in the garage you will need an umbrella to get to your car bc water pours in from the 7th floor. 9. The elevator in the garage is either broken, or has throw up and pee waiting for you like it did this morning. Or during the winter you will have homeless people sleeping in the waiting area or doing drugs. Just depends on the season. And yes, I've witnessed this multiple times. 10. The homeless get tenant treatment at this building. This morning 9/17/26 someone came in and asked to get coffee. No offense at all but this is advertised as a secure building, allowing non tenants to get coffee in an amenity for residents is crazy. 11. There is no guest parking. Even though our leases states there is guest parking and passes are provided there is not. And this language should not be put in the lease if we don't have it. All in all this place is an overpriced, roach and mice infested dump that delays maintenance and allows those who are dirty to live as they want in this building. Live ANYWHERE but here. Or if you like roaches and mice by all means this is the place for you. My next review will be to DOH and DOB. That's how NASTY this building is.
