Infested with roaches or maybe those water bugs that look like roaches, but please do not come here unless you are highly interested in bugs. The parking lot had a few on the trashcans and we thought that maybe maintenance was low and decided to go onto to the water to take a look. Not even a couple of feet into the park thousands and thousands of roach like bugs on the ground just crawling around. The trees were beyond infested and i think can be a root cause to them being at the park along with the water. read more

The park was renovated very well. The man-made lake is an original feature that was preserved and renovated. It has a very nice layout. The Sammy Davis junior plaza is very nice, but morning sun may prove to be an issue dependent upon seating choices when viewing stage performances. read more

Nice park to go for a walk or relax. There is a big duck pond and many ducks to chill with jk. The park also has two playgrounds for kids with shade over them to block some of the sun. There are restrooms near the duck pond and walking trail. Many places to setup for big group gatherings or benches to sit and watch the kids play. read more

They were holding yellow balloons with no string.. they waved at my kids to lure towards them... This park is sketchy with homeless people. Went fishing here also but there was no fished caught. I love the variety of this park! It has everything one could want in a park, including a lake, expansive picnic areas, a rose garden, baseball fields, giant play area, history of Lorenzi and the land, and walking paths. The last time I came here they even had a Japanese Festival in the Cultural Pavilion area; fun! The surrounding area makes this park not located in the nicest of areas, but the park itself is great and expansive. The lake and the rose garden are my favorite draws of this park as they are both peaceful and provide a nice ambience for relaxing while getting your walk on. Plus, my dog likes the variety of scents and enjoys this walking path. read more

The city needs to do something about the homeless camping out in the park. I stopped counting at 31. I don't feel safe dropping my son off for practice, even with his coaches and teammates there. They also need to do something about the geese. There is geese poop all over the place. Could be a nice park if it was maintained better. read more

I would love to give 5 stars but I just can't because it's amazing and has so much to offer BUT homeless people, goose , trash and lack of playground maintenance is an issue. But the playground is awesome: western theme and very large with a fun water park. There's another playground on the other side of the park. Several parking areas. The lake is beautiful. I remember during Summer kids camp stopping here on field trip day to have our picnic lunch in the park. I remember countless birthday parties and playing tennis. I could go on and on but wont. Lorenzi park is big and has several great amenities. I particularly like the lake. Although it is small, it has a little island, which is accessible by a bridge. It is home to ducks and geese. The one downside of the birds is there is bird poop throughout the park. So, watch where you step. The park includes multiple playgrounds and grassy areas for children to play. There are also numerous shaded picnic tables, which are spread out. I like that design because it allows different groups to have parties in the park at the same time. The tennis and basketball are well maintained. There are multiple baseball fields, complete with surrounding fences and bleachers. All of the sporting venues have lights that turn on at night. I also like the solar panel covered parking because it keeps the vehicles cool and helps with electricity! read more

Lorenzi Park is an oasis in downtown Las Vegas. It is an urban retreat for human beings and ducks. I had inclined toward visiting Lorenzi Park from the time of last January. The lake had been closed for refurbishment, there were other parks to explore; and a year flew by. On a recent Saturday, I set out to explore Lorenzi Park before a night on Fremont Street. When I spent some time in Lorenzi Park, I saw a rectangular parcel alongside Washington Avenue (between Valley View and Rancho). The man-made lake with the encircling walking paths and Sammy Davis Jr. Plaza took up the west section. Grassy spaces that could use a slight increase in water and a playground took up the central section. Ample parking, tennis courts, and baseball diamonds took up the east section. In my eyes, the man-made lake is the gem of Lorenzi Park. It featured some of the best natural entertainers in Las Vegas: ducks and geese. I am an admirer of ducks (geese are cool too) and I never get bored watching them play. The water they played in is clean and stocked with fish. When I looked beyond the lake, I saw the Stratosphere clear and tall. When the ducks and geese grew tired of the water, they rested in their own island. The man-made lake reminds me of a smaller version of the one in Sunset Park. I'd see the man-made lake from the vantage point of the encircling concrete pathways. If I were spending hours here, there were a handful of benches to sit and watch the ducks and geese. The lake also included a man-made island for people. At the time I was walking the concrete walkways, the information kiosks taught me facts about Lorenzi Park history. Some of this knowledge that I want to pass on is that Lorenzi Park was Twin Lakes Lodge, which was a retreat back when much of Vegas was the great outdoors. The boathouse is not a typical park building. It is a historic building dating back to when this was a lodge. And the man-made lake dates back all the way to 1921. Another thing I want to share with you that the information signs taught me, is that before development Lorenzi Park was contiguous to today's Spring's Preserve. If US 95 was torn apart, Lorenzi Park and Spring's Preserve would be continuous. I feel that I walked out of Lorenzi Park intellectually smarter than I walked in. I walked into Lorenzi Park street-smart. Owing to the fact that it is an inner-city park and anybody could walk in, I was mindful of my surroundings. If it had been sparsely populated like Charlie Frias Park had been I would of done an abbreviated tour of the park. I felt safe with all the people sharing the park. They included people fishing, moms and children in the playground and people like me walking around. I didn't see anybody enjoying a picnic at a sheltered table overlooking the man-made lake. Looking toward the parking lot, I saw a City Marshal patrolling. The park in general did well on being graffiti and vandalism-free. I only saw a couple of instances of tagging. By the time I left Lorenzi Park and drove toward Fremont Street, I left with the impression that if you are traveling a distance that Lorenzi Park is a nice spot to combine with another downtown attraction. After reading the information sign, I would recommend combining Lorenzi Park with Springs Preserve. Both attractions together are an eventful way to spend time in an oasis that is a Las Vegas before major development. Whether you combine Lorenzi Park with another downtown attraction or by itself, it lives up to being a decent urban retreat. read more

Nothing like when I was a kid. They used to have a train and swings. But now the nasty little ducks are everywhere and the poop is uncontrollable. The did are basically non existent. There is only about 2 main play areas and a huge basketball area. Wish they had swings again. read more

First of all there is covered parking.. I love that. This park has a lot to it and it really bothers me that I have to give this park 3 stars instead of of 2... let me explain- There are lots of benches and bbq areas... most of them are filthy. There are lots of walking paths for those who just want to enjoy the day... there's a ton of broken glass all over the place.. There's a lake thing.... It's filled with rubbish from plastic bags to cardboard boxes.. Why 3 stars? Because for whatever reason, I'm coming back.. I'm bringing a loaf of bread and I'm feeding these cute little ducks... the interaction and the layout of this place brought it up a star.. otherwise it would literally be a place to avoid. read more

This park could easily be a 5 star park but there is trash everywhere! It took 3 benches before we found 1 that didn't have gross stuff sticking on it. A lot of the slides also had something sticky running down them. The upper playground, themed like trees, was the cleanest, however there was a beer can hidden in the play equipment. Nice views and lots of green if you can find an area without trash. Wouldn't recommend going but couldn't give a park with this much potential less than 3 stars. Lorenzi Park is beautifully landscaped, seemingly designed for picturesque views. There are individual pavilions for group BBQs, strategically placed benches, a variety of trees providing shade and attracting birds, a large body of water (home to little fish) with a pretty bridge and concrete stairs - you can tell a lot of work went into this place. While I was there for the Filipino Festival (a nice, gated space with a stage and kiosk area), I actually enjoyed walking the park even more than hanging out at the festival. This place appears great for families, as children have play areas and a water spray section perfect for cooling off. Walkers have plenty of paths, and bird lovers - especially those who like geese and ducks- have plenty to see. People wanting to study, read and enjoy an outdoor picnic can find spots here. I saw Marshall's at the place- just one walking, and one official car, which was nice to see without giving the place a scary undertone. My only concern would be little ones falling into the water. There were plenty of children when I was there but I would be very mindful since water access is easy. read more

This was a great park, for the most part. I was here today for about 4 hours with my 3 year old, husband, and black lab. There are bathrooms available. Three different playground structures. A lake to walk with ducks and geese. The water is SUPER nasty though, it's kind of sad, but still nice to walk around I guess. Lots of open areas, some trees, and "grass". The biggest problem I had was two motorcycle cops were there for the same duration we were and they were doing a lot of circling and staring. They even approached my husband and it was an interesting interaction. I'm sure they were trying to make people feel safer but I was honestly intimidated. read more

As parks go, this one is ok. There are swings, slides, grass fields for kids to play on. Plus, it has a lake where I've seen people fish and feed ducks and all that. There are a lot of seniors here, though that's probably due in large part to the senior center being here, too. I only ever go to parks to take my dogs on runs. This park is ok for that, though my dogs seem to have learned that the best part about this place is the geese who don't back down from a fight. It's true. One time my large GSD walked up to one to sniff it (he's not at all aggressive, just curious) and the goose started pecking at him and flapping wings and all that. I'm not gonna lie: both of us (me plus the dog) were scared. I may have run back to the car. In any case, this place is cool. It seems to have gotten shadier, as it isn't in the best neighborhood ever. Still, I'll continue coming here with the dogs. read more

Since I've officially decided to set my roots on the planet of Las Vegas, one thing I've learned is that you never take a good pseudo-lake for granted. This park actually has a lot going for it, and is very pretty, with lots of trees and foliage, and ducks roaming the lake area. It also has a dog run that, while definitely not the best or the largest I've ever seen, is certainly reliable when I want to take the furballs out for some off-leash go-nutsery. The Historical Society is also lodged here, and up until recently, so was the State Museum. The Museum here was small, but nice, though I imagine it will be really decked out at the Springs Preserve. The big pull for me, however, is the fact that they have a sizable lake that you can actually fish from, complete with rotating stock of fish per season. I have no great excuse as to why I haven't tried this out, other than I haven't gotten around to it yet, but I plan to. Oh, how I plan to. I've heard that this is one of the oldest parks in Vegas, and back in the "glory days" of Vegas, this was THE place to visit, but I can't find a huge amount on this claim past the tiniest bits and pieces. Being so old, and as per natural tendencies, one would think Vegas would be all for tearing it up and turning it into a parking lot, but they are currently renovating the place. Someone in higher powers must have had a lapse of insanity, or confused "renovation" with "total destruction" on the update list for the place. But all in all, it's a nice park. It certainly keeps a nicer element to the neighborhood, and is certainly enjoyable for an outside walk, dogs or not. read more

I just discover this park. This park would be amazeballz if it had a dog park. Seriously it would be perfect. I haven't had enough time to spend here since I just discovered it and the fact it's hotter than hades right now in Vegas. Walking trails, plenty of roof covered picnic pavilions. Large grass area dedicated to Sammy Davis Jr. I also think many festivals are held here, seems like I heard the Pirate Fest? Lots of recycling bins and tons of security. The couple times I have been there I have seen multiple city trucks. Also!!!!!! Covered parking is available in some areas so you car doesn't bake as much. Anyway, if you want to throw a big BBQ blowout pretty close/central to the Strip. This is the place for you!!!! read more

I'm so sad to be writing this review. I've been going to this park for a few months now, every Sunday, to fish. Last night I was so sad and disappointed to see how dirty the water was and how many dead fishes were around the whole lake. I don't know what is going on or if something unusual happened, but maintenance needs to do a better job at keeping the water clean, and someone needs to figure out what happened that caused all those fishes to die like that. read more

Took my mother and dogs around this park in the middle of a weekday and was pleasantly surprised. The twin ponds are very pretty and active with ducks. A fisherman told us all the different fish the ponds are stocked with. The grass and trees well maintained. Looks like there are lots of facilities in the park like bball courts playgrounds and more. The perfect place to burn up an hour or two when the weather is nice. read more

The review is specifically about the baseball fields. Nice because of the built in shade, plenty of bleachers, and playground in the center; however only 2 stars because it's extremely dirty. They obviously never sweep and you can't go there without leaving covered in dirt yourself. Also viewing of the field/game is not so good with thick poles that block your view and tight fencing that's hard to see through. read more
