I was going through a really hard time in my life and my back was killing me. Went to see Lori who took a lot of money and helped not at all. At one point I started to cry (yup things were that bad for me). Guess what? She did nothing, said nothing, just took her hands off me and waited. Amazing. Nothing comforting to say . . . . I felt she and her entire office were a big front for the rich -- big expensive office, extensive equipment, Lori all dolled up in super high heels. She massaged my back with her thumbs, stroking upwards and suggested someone at home do this. Yup, big healing. I pulled a muscle in my lower back two weeks ago. I saw a chiropractor I like who told me I was twisted so she aligned me and I felt better for a week then the pain came back and when I could not get an appointment with the same chiropractor I decided to try Dr. Rodgers. Her approach is very similar to another chiropractor I saw years ago. She's very thorough in studying the uneven hips, shoulders, and neck and I appreciate she even checks oxygen level. I've had the absolute pleasure of working with Dr. Lori since June of 2014- I love, love, love her sweet, sassy spirit and energy. I came in originally with a numbness in my leg which she worked on and completely fixed in about 4 months. At the initial consultation she pointed out my shallow breathing which fed into my anxiety issues. Now, I try to go weekly (even after she told me 2 times a month was enough) since I always leave walking on air, feeling so much more alive and refreshed after she works on my neck, back, left knee (that started cracking after a while), and works my jaw from a back 3rd degrees malocclusion from TMJ. She works on mind, body, with a strong neurology approach and is incredibly knowledgeable about vitamins, minerals also. As an Operating Engineer with 37 years in the industry my life literally depends on the care i get from a chiropractor. Operating Earth Movers for that many years takes its toll on the body. I was fortunate to find Dr. Lori Rodgers early in my career as an Apprentice in the early 1980s, After putting me back together and completely eliminating my pain I lost touch with her as i felt confident i could continue my trade without the need for continous care well I suffered for that bad decision. At that time I wasnt hip to the subtle differences between one Chiro and the next. I just needed the pain to go away fast. I really didnt respect my body i had a terrible diet and wasnt aware how that impacted how my body felt. 30 years later, and I was living with pain from head to toe, I just figured it was my life and it was normal. A friend of mine suggested Dr. Lori Rodgers at Ala Vita Healing Center in Sausalito. I figured why not give it a try. I was surprised to learn that Dr. Rodgers was the same one who treated me 30 years prior when my career had just begun. Although now she has her own practice. Her initial exam was more thorough then any other i have ever had, she really was genuinely concerned with not only how my body felt but also what dietary changes i could make that would only better serve my body and my over all health and well being. I know I know drink water, I hear it all day at work. But she explain to me the effect water has on the muscle system. My entire life i have had pretty quick mood swings. No matter how many anger management programs I attended or how many times I quick drinking coffee or tried meditation. I was still susceptable to mood swings. One of the first things Dr. Rodgers noticed was some Cranial issues and oxygen to my brain issues. She detected head trauma and mentioned this. I had no memory of any head trauma. But she did her cranial technique on me and i felt so great afterwards. After several months I began to remember various instances where i did in fact take very hard blows to my head. I never knew that really mattered. But Lori said it was most likely the cause of my mood swings which i eventually confessed to having. She could better explain the head how its supposed to be flexible and the outside barometric pressures effect on a locked up head trauma head. All I know is she turned this roaring Lion into a purring Lion. She began focusing on my feet as well, she fit me with custom soles for my shoes then worked on my knees back neck and like i said cranium. The relief i got was immediate, and It would come back but after seeing her 4x each month to start slowly the pain stayed away longer then longer until it was completely gone all the time. What took 37 years of abuse on my body took her maybe less than 12 months to fix. But I knew the importance of maintaning how great i felt. So I continued my treatments and After 5 straight years I still see her 2x per month. After all I still work 50-60 hours Operating Earth Movers My body still takes a daily beating So I require her care. I would imagine that most people do not put the stress upon their bodies that i do. But I know what my body needs and pain isn't it. Over the past 5 years I have met so many people in her waiting room, from all over the country and even a few from out of the country who make a point of taking their entire families to get her treatments. I have seen children who suffered from head aches unable to attend school, suddenly be enrolled full time in school after being treated by Dr. Rodgers. What many of the people have in common i have met in her office is that many say they could not find help any where else, they tried all the traditional Medical Treatments and ended up getting the relief they sought only after being treated by Dr. Rodgers. I am sure she will not appreciate what im going t say now but she is the only Dr. I have ever seen that takes emergencies on Sundays and Saturdays, although she is closed i have seen her make a rare exception. And imagine She is not an ER Doctor, she is a Chiropractor Neurologist. That Must be experienced to be appreciated. I hurt my back 25 years ago and nothing helped. I went to Lori for a few weeks and felt perfect. I hurt it again 12 years ago and could barely move the pain was excruciating and the MDs or PTs could not help at all-- then I remembered Lori and after a few weeks treatment with her I was back to normal. My husband also hurt his back and had the same positive experience with Lori.
