There are so many soap and sponge shops that you see a lot of repetition however I found some unique items here and purchased some souvenirs. The staff was very friendly and outside there were samplers.

Loris Soaps & Sponges Exchange is located in the sponge dock area of Tarpon Springs. I was lured in by the amazing smell wafting out and the eye catching colorful displays of beauty products. In addition to this location they also have stores in Madeira, Florida and Branson, Missouri. You can also shop online. The beauty products are made with extra virgin olive oil known for its healing and moisturizing qualities that regenerates skin cells and softens skin. Another popular product is the goat milk soap which is rich in nutrients and is great for dry skin. It helps to support a healthy microbiome and may even prevent acne. They also have charcoal soap which is favored for its detoxifying benefits. Beauty products include a variety of natural sponges, soap, shampoo bars. body lotion, and fizz balls. They also had candles. They have approximately 50 scents including cucumber melon, black cherry, French vanilla, heaven scent, lavender, oatmeal honey, and the humorous monkey farts. They have a scent for everyone including unscented. The products are especially nice for those of us with sensitive skin. Prices seemed extremely reasonable as these are artisan beauty products. Soaps are around $5 with a discount for buying 4. It is fun to check out all of the yummy scents and pick out out a gift or just a treat for yourself.

The smell just draws you in! There's a great variety of sponges of course with it being on the sponge docks, but the soaps and body care are the real standouts in my opinion. They had shampoo bars, bar soaps with all sorts of mixtures like goat's milk, olive oil, oatmeal, etc,, and bath bomb fizzers. I love a nice soaking bath with a good moisturizing bath bomb and they had a sale: 4 for $16 for the smaller sized ones, and 4 for $20 for the larger sized ones. Honestly the small sized ones are what most Etsy shops sell as large ones, so you're getting a great amount of product for the price. I loved the Ocean, Cucumber Melon, and Lemon Verbena scents. They also had one called Monkey Farts (yes, that's it's actually name) in the larger size that was a sweet fruity smell I would've snagged, but my other three favorite scents were only available in the smaller size this trip, so I double up on Ocean. I tried the Lemon Verbena one when I got home & the smell last for a good two hours without much fading. My body felt so soft and buttery afterwards, and no dyes or residue was left in my bathtub. I'd put these bath bombs in par with Lush easily! I was excited at the variety of shampoo bars they had; a lot of the scents were creative like the cranberry guava that smelled like a delicious fruit tea. I had just recently stocked up from Lush, otherwise I probably would've gotten a couple of those too. I didn't see any conditioner bars, but hopefully they'll consider those in the future! The people working the register were not very engaging with staff, and kind of gave off the air that they were annoyed with the people browsing. They were on the older side, neither seemed to want to leave the counter despite there being two of them and a shop full of people at the time, and I think they missed an opportunity to add on sales by not engaging or educating the shoppers on products.

Anyways a must. Best sponges and soaps in tarpon springs. Customer service is always great

Did a quick view n buy. I usually buy the leather gamosas here. I noticed they were even better priced this time around. The gentleman inside gave a quick tutorial on how to activate their softness before use. One once done n it will be ready to go. I use these skins to clean glass, silver n ever to dry the car. I would do business with them again in the future.

Great little shop on the main road at the sponge docks for grabbing handcrafted soaps (so many different scents), sea sponges and other gifts. We were able to find some gifts to bring home here!!

A corner shop right off of Dodecanese, in Tarpon Springs- the heavenly scents of handmade sops, bath bombs, lotions and more capture your senses and compel you to enter. Then you see how many different scents! and the mix of colorful soaps. Crystin and I slowly lapped the shop sniffing various soaps as we went. We lean to the fruitier scents and liked mostly the same scents. Crystin quickly grabbed a basket to begin adding to and I happily helped her add to her stack. I really think we were in the small shop for 20 minutes and didn't smell everything. We stuck to the outer walls and laughed that there was even more on the tables in the center of the shop. At check out the lovely lady told my daughter to grab one of the sponges as a gift for her soon arriving baby! My daughter melted and I was so grateful for the kindness shown. It's funny that such little moments can bring you such joy! Crystin, who was struggling to be comfortable that day, instantly started to glow. The lady running the shop said a blessing for the baby and we left with a sense of awe and a bag of pampering bath items. If you are in the area- this is a must stop shop!

This is another soap shop in the heart of Tarpon Springs. The soaps ingredients are goat milk & olive oil - combined with some scent - some scents better than others in my personal opinion. They also sell lotions for body and face. Tried a few although only purchased some soaps. Prices are very reasonable especially if you buy in bulk.

Just some of the soaps and sponges. Don't miss the creams and lotions too

The soaps last a very long time. There's a scent for everyone. The lotions are all natural, working well for those with sensitive skin. Buy a bunch and the lady at the register might toss in a special soap or cream as a token of appreciation. I buy just enough to have to come back to Tarpon every year or so. It's a good strategy.

No trip to the Sponge Docks is complete without purchasing one of Lori's lovely soaps or natural sponges. The soaps come in a variety of scents and are made with goat's milk so the soap leaves your skin feeling super soft! I especially like the bars of soap that contain a sponge and the salt scrubs with olive oil. The owner of the store is so nice and she can tell you about every product she carries and the benefits from her soaps and scrubs. She'll also inform you of the best ways to maintain your sponge. The prices are reasonable considering the great quality of the products. Definitely stop by Lori's if you are visiting the Sponge Docks!

When I moved to Tampa from NY, I began buying homemade local soaps from Getaguru, flea markets, and farmer's markets. After searching online, I discovered that there was a homemade soap store in Tarpon Springs just a couple of blocks from Hellas Restaurant (which serves delicious Greek food). So of course, I had to check it out. The goat milk and olive oil soaps are fantastic! I have sensitive, dry skin and the natural ingredients are moisturizing and does wonders for my skin. I literally ran out of Lori's soap this morning and had to... HAD TO... stock up. My husband and I killed 2 birds with one stone. I was able to pick up a small bag full of soap and we filled our bellies with yummo Greek food. Win-win!!

Definitely more touristy, but a popular spot to stop and search for sponges and homemade soaps

I was not disappointed! The young men that helped me, Ben l, was very knowledgeable, I told him my problem with wigs, which is that they never fit. Apparently, I have a really small head, I had brought one of my own wigs in anticipation of hoping that he could help me understand it. Ben looked at it, saw the problem and immediately got to modifying it for me and now it fits perfect! I also purchased a synthetic wig which I have never done before. I always purchased human hair wigs, but I really loved the cut of this wig and I loved how easy it was to put on. Those usually fit better but again it was too big for me, but he quickly got to customizing it for me so that it fit just right. Women who find themselves in my position are put in a world that is overwhelming and they don't understand while also dealing with a horrible thing for a woman, and that is to lose her hair, in my case I always had thick long hair at one time my hair went all the way to the back of my knees, but for the last 30 years, it has been at my waist, this has been a heartbreaking experience, so it's nice to come across people who care, understand, and I moved to action, Ben didn't charge me to fix my wig, I learned a lot from him. I hope that I can go back to Oregon and fix my other ones. Posting pictures of the wig I purchased, most of my wigs are long like my hair was just because that's what I was used to, but I like this short version, now I'm going to look for one in human hair, the one thing I didn't like about this wig is it tangled very easily the hair was soft, but definitely feels like synthetic.
