Unique finds & fair prices at this thrift store. The major highlights were free gourmet sliced baked goods from Wegmans and 20% military discount. I got two loaves of sliced homemade gourmet Tuscan garlic bread for sandwiches. They had areas with clearance prices, new clothes, and select items. I didn't find any deals there and didn't want any of those items. Regular prices items were great finds. I got clay pots for plants $1 each. A new puzzle box still sealed for $4. An oracle deck in mint condition for $2. A large black velvet scarf for $2. Paperback books for 50 cents. A travel jewelry case for $2. They were all in good condition or new. The parking lot can be overcrowded due to the Islamic Center of worship beside it. Traffic can be very busy there as well. People looking for designer deals may not like this place, because they price them at fair not low prices. Book prices are the best at this thrift store if you like buying books. Vintage & collector books are priced fairly and NOT at a low price. This is a place I would consider going to again for plant pots and the books, as well as the baked bread. Updating because the last two times I was there I was treated so poorly. On a Saturday my kid asked to stop in on our way home. I told her yes but we had to be quick. I knew I was going in 15 minutes before closing but I was going to honor the time. I work retail and have worked thrift stores so I know what it's like to want to leave on time. I was not greeted with a hello or hi. I was greeted with a very curt and rude "we close in 15 minutes". Fine. Whatever. But within the next five minutes I got 2 more time reminders. At this point my kid had stuff she wanted but it did not meet the $5 minimum sale requirement for debit/credit. So I was trying to find something else quickly so we could go. However I wasnt going to buy something just to buy it and toss it. That's wasteful. It was still 10 minutes before close and they were just staring at me. I told my kid that we would just come back and get stuff another day. The lady with the short red hair said very loudly "sorry kiddo mom doesn't have any money". Which let me tell you pissed me off. I had the money and consistently spend $25-$50 a trip when they have a fully stocked store. I just couldn't find enough junk to meet their minimum this time. Also I find that to be incredibly rude and insensitive since their whole organization is to help people in poverty. I mean, I've waited in line while customers have counted out pennies to fill the gap of what their lcac vouchers wont cover. So way to be incredibly insensitive on top of rude. Theres no excuse for that. I just walked out at that point. Took a few weeks before I came back in because I was so upset. This time I came in with two big boxes of donations because I was tired of trying to sell stuff online. Two big boxes of name brand plus size clothes - some with tags. I got zero help as well as zero hello or hi or anything. No hey can we hold the door for you? No can we help? No thank you. Nothing At this point I dont know if they are just assuming its junk because of my appearance (tattoos, piercings) or if they just dont really care to be polite and offer good customer service anymore. I dont know what's going on here but there used to be a pretty solid crew of nice ladies working here and now it's nothing but a bunch of rude women. My donations and business will be going elsewhere. read more

This benefit thrift shop provides funds to assist those in need. This shop is truly a wonderful place to find lots of items of clothing for everyone. Often there is a 50 % off sale on already reasonably priced items. Donations are very appreciated. The money earned stays right in the community to do whats needed for others less fortunate. Amazingly friendly staff and a wide assortment of goods (toys, shoes, clothes, furniture, dishware, electronics...) and good prices. Unfortunately, every time I come to drop off donations I leave with stuff--one time was a 9' Costco Christmas tree and today was a wing back chair! I love this thrift shop! I have gotten NWT clothing items for $6 each, gently used Coach and Brighton bags for less than $20 each. I have bought toys and craft items, jewelry and knick knacks, all at great prices. But even better, this is a wonderful place to donate your unneeded things. You can support a hardworking organization doing tremendous good when you buy things or donate items it can sell. Even better, clients of LCAC receive vouchers to buy items like holiday presents or back-to-school clothes, giving them the dignity of being able to choose the best things for their families and situations. I love this store. It's my go to because my kids can look at toys and I always purchase at least a book for the kids. It small enough that I get to look at all the sections. Today was different. My kids were told to leave and stay near me. I was just paying and allowed them to play while I was watching them. I was even about to clean up but I changed my mind when she told my kids to leave. She sounded irritable and even carried my toddler!!! The second complaint was as I was paying, a Dress was labeled $5 ND and the lady said It was supposed to be priced higher and told me it was $10. Why?? These are donated clothes. Aren't you giving proceeds to charity?? Those 2 ladies shouldn't volunteer or work there. I left with a very heavy heart. So so disappointed!!! read more

We visited 'The Attic' for the first time this past Saturday and were pleasantly pleased with what we discovered. The store wasClean, well organized and a had a nice variety of clothes. Good place to look for baby supplies. We were on the hunt for roller skates and although we did not find any we did come away with some nice things. As with other thrift shops their inventory changes all the time, I can't wait to see what other treasures we come across. Happy Hunting! read more

I've been shopping here for years now. The staff is so friendly to my boys and I, and today Pam went out of her way to assist me with a bulky purchase. Since they've reopened after the Covid shutdown, they've done a wonderful job of reorganizing for better social distancing, provided sanitizer gel, make sure the store isn't crowded, and that patrons wear a mask (per the governor's order). I am always happy to donate here & shop to support their mission. Lorton's Attic is definitely one of my favorite thrift stores in the area. read more

Friendly but I was denied the ability to purchase bowls I had picked out. Based on how they handled this, I'm not sure I can recommend shopping here at the moment. You might take the time to find something you like and leave empty handed. This was my third shopping trip here. I have also donated items on two occasions and was planning on donating more until this happened. The lady at the register let me know the bowls I wanted were underpriced & she needed to research them. I told her that I could wait while she researched the "correct" price but she said "no" (while smiling). I was willing to pay whatever price she deemed fair but she did not seem interested in doing that. She said the volunteers priced it wrong, she is the only one that works there and a lot of "mid century modern" stuff that needed to get priced slipped by her. So I could have purchased it without issues if she was not there. She offered to call me back but I'm not sure that will happen. I was frustrated by the whole exchange. I'm hoping she does call and I can purchase the item I originally intended to get. I understand the need to price accordingly (from the start) but when discrepancies like this happen-there should be at least a roundabout price to quote at that moment. Disappointed. read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Lorton's Attic. Each time I visit, there are new treasures to stumble upon. There are so many nice things and the prices are incredibly fair. Wander into the back room of the store and you'll find brand name clothes (Lucky Brand jeans, Ann Taylor dress pants, Banana Republic blouses, and much more) for under $10. The store is always clean and decorated in such a cute way-- I feel like I'm in a little boutique. By far, my favorite part of visiting Lorton's Attic is the friendly faces that greet you at the door. The manager, Melissa, is the most kind and caring person you will ever meet. She truly cares about the customers and the mission of the Lorton Community Action Center. I keep coming back because of Melissa and her delightful volunteers. What a treasure trove! I have been a thrift store shopper for over 40 years (and the changes have been many) and this small store is in the top 5%!!! The prices were more than fair and there was even a 25% off sale going on the day I went. There was a beautiful white (stenciled with a delicate soft blue design) sturdy dresser that was priced at a mere $35! (Since I was just traveling through, and had stopped based on Yelp reviews, regrettably I had no room in my car for it.) But the items and their variety tell only half the story. The store workers are real gems themselves. (Wish I lived close by; if you're ever having a "blue day," stop in for a chat and you will leave energized and with a fresh look on humanity.) A wonderful oasis! Good for the pocketbook and good for the soul!!! (In spite of its small size, I found at least 10 items that fit perfectly into my life - and no, I am not a hoarder. ) read more

This store is tucked away in Williamsburg Square shopping center in Lorton, a little off the beaten path but worth the trip. They have tons of clothes that have been well screened for quality. Lots of household merchandise and often really nice furniture available. I always find something that peaks my interest when I'm there. The staff are friendly and helpful and the store is clean and well organized. One of the things that I really like about it is that it's part of the Lorton Community Action Center and it's mission is to raise money to support their emergency food and financial assistance outreach programs in the area. So I find cool stuff and the proceeds go to help others. Win, win. read more
