They don't do half off on colored tags. But they do have a few days of discounts. Senior discount, military and store members discounts. When we walked in on Monday, it was store member discount for 25%. We didn't pass the jewelry and the sunglasses before we had a full shopping cart. They have a lot of clothes and household goods. I found some cool purses, and winter wear. The shoe selection is really small, right now it's one rack for all sizes. But I found a perfect pair to match my black gown. I left with several gowns and sunglasses and a cute mermaid purse. My aunt left with jewelry, a Spider-Man sweatshirt, a purse and a couple winter scarves. It's self check out, and you cannot bring a cart outside . My aunt was excited for her fine in the experience and she will be bringing my uncle back with her the next time

If you can get to it. If you can't reach it or you think you might make something fall down trying to reach an item, ASK THE MAN WORKING THERE TO GET IT FOR YOU. He will thank you for it. The nice man working there said they needed a bigger space. No kidding! :-) I'm serious when I say this - bring some plastic bags ahead of time. There is literally no space to put your items somewhere if you want to come back to them after you have shopped some more. If you put them in plastic bags, at least you can haul your items around the store easier. Plus if you put them in plastic bags (versus a real bag), it won't look suspicious, like you are trying to steal from the store. You will never know how much an item will cost. What you do is put together a bunch of items and then haggle a little bit with the person working there. I honestly really don't like haggling at a **thrift store** but if I thought what he wanted for an item was too high, I'd either tell him that or I just would tell him I didn't want it anymore. I wasn't lying when I said I didn't want it anymore, sometimes he would guess price a little too high. For example, I wanted a used Minecraft shirt. He wanted $5 for it. I said to him, sir, I can get them new for $8 and this one is somewhat worn but still serviceable. He took a look at the shirt again and sold it to me for a dollar. I was sort of in the neighborhood so I didn't exactly go out of my way to get there, but I would have been extremely disappointed if I had. It's also not that easy to get to and unclear where to park. I won't go back. Do yourself a favor and run up to the Goodwill in Herndon. That's nothing special either (no treasure hunting there), but for inexpensive household items and clothing, at least it's clean, well-lit and well-organized.

I picked up a couple of items from Jones New York, Talbots and New York and Company. The only things the store is lacking is a dressing room and a larger home goods section (although what they did offer for home goods appeared functional unlike other thrift stores that make you sort through junk for treasure). Overall, a great experience in a really interesting and developing area of the city (the historic part is becoming an artsy community with the Hive, Honfluer Gallery and the Anacostia Arts Center) which is makes this type of store perfectly place.
