Love love love this place, totally Tex Mex, the cheese is addictive, the queso is the best in Texas hands down, the service lacks , if one places a phone order , when you pick your meal up, one usually stands at the counter, with the wait staff staring at you as well as everyone else in the restaurant , trust me the wait staff won't move from they're gathering table to help, they wait for the one who you placed the order with to help you, Which is usually Cindy, they need 6 more of her! Food was very bland, little flavor, not spicy like you'd expect normal tex-mex to be. A bowl of queso was very disappointing and was way overpriced at just below $8. I wouldn't recommend this food to anyone, was surprised to see anyone else there based on the quality. read more

I called a bit late for a carry out meal 30 minutes before close but i kept it very simple with just 2 beef old style enchiladas a la cart and the asked her if i could get 2 salsas with the chips, which she replied with yes. she seemed very friendly on the phone. when i arrived i was relieved to see they were still serving their tables. i get home and i see that not only was the chip bag completely open but they had flipped a salsa upside down inside the bag. luckily the lid stayed on tight so i could see the lack of effort towards customer satisfaction. very truculent behavior because what is this??? Theres less than half of salsa in this cup! not the first time ive had or heard if others getting some sort of similar treatment. not happy with the overall representaion of this place or the way some of yall have been conducting yourselves. its a business serving food, not highschool. i even tipped her and now i wished i hadnt cause they cant even give napkins or plasticware, which they never do,?even when i ask for it. youre supposed to put TOGO supplies with a TOGO order It shouldnt even be asked for you should learn to do so automatically like the rest of the world.. not cool at all. read more

This is a long-standing restaurant near the town square. They serve up good Mexican/TexMex food. A large menu gives plenty of choices and service is fast and friendly. As others have noted it is very loud. If they would hang some Mexican style blankets on the walls it would improve the noise level. Also, tables along the wall are too close together. We came to Los Amigas for dinner while camping at Bonham State Park. It is located just off of the downtown square in Bonham in a very nice location. The restaurant is fairly small and was full when we arrived. You seat yourself, and a table opened up shortly after we arrived. The food was good. We live in North Texas and eat a lot of Tex-Mex. Los Amigos was on par with several of the best Tex-Mex restaurants in the region. The wait staff were hustling and did a good job of not becoming overwhelmed. We didn't have to wait long for anything even though the place was very busy. The only downside is that the size of the restaurant combined with the hard, high walls made the room very loud. Annoyingly loud. Overall, a pleasant experience and we would return. read more

I have been eating at Los amigos in Bonham since the restaurant opened many years ago. Up until this point I have delt with the service issues due to a lack of restaurants in town. unfortunately due to the increasingly worsening service I have decided to take my business elsewhere. There any several very big issues with this restaurant. #1 the fact that it is tiny any the noise level is horrible. You can hardly have a decent conversation. #2 good luck getting them to answer the phone for a pick up order if you don't want to dine in due to the noise. #3 when you get lucky enough for them to answer your call and they say 15min they actually mean 45min. The food hasn't changed a bit since ive started eating there. It's not fantastic but it's good for Bonham. I'm just tired of the crappy service. And honestly a change every now and then would be nice. read more

Amazing Mexican food and small town feel. We came from Dallas and stopped into Bonham looking for a quick bite. We were a little weary when we pulled up but were soon pleasantly surprised by the servers who were all very nice. Our server wore a mask the whole time and they adhered to social distancing by only seating every other table. The food was delicious and hot. The prices were great and everything was really clean. Our sever took great care of us! If we are ever in Bonham again we will definitely stop by! read more

Everything about this place was fine. No extremes here, good or bad. Food was okay, edible. Pico de gallo was only an option; didn't come with any meal automatically. Margaritas were green, so definitely a mix and not that great. Service was okay. She was busy as it was a Friday night. Had to ask for water twice. Every now & then while I'm at work, I get a hankering for some local mexican food. That is when I trot across the street to Los Amigos for a quick fix. Overall, this place has decent food with the typical menu selections of most small town mexican places. The salsa is pretty good, though every now & then it'll be a tad bit watery. My favorite meal here is the fajitas because they give you a massive amount of food for really cheap. Both the chicken & beef are yummy, so take your pick. Service can be a little hit or miss and I usually drain my drink before it manages to get refreshed. But all of the waiters are friendly, so that helps. Beware of the lunch hour as this place can get crowded quickly and then you'll be stuck standing around waiting for a table to clear. We probably won't return but it wasn't the worst place. Sweet tea is good and the chimichanga was ok but not a whole lot of flavor. Queso is $5.99 for such a small bowl. Overall. I give it 2 stars. For a small town tex mex, food is good. It's like what I can make at home. If Los Amigos has signature dish, I haven't noticed it on menu, but food is good. It's a popular place for locals. Staff is friendly. Sometimes they'll walk by you & not say a word, when I'm at register to pick up a Togo order. As for food... They have a family meal that has faj, rice & beans, taq, jalepeno fried w/cheese, bean & chesse nachos. It's a lot of food for about $25. We order this the most. Always have left overs. The chips & tortillas are not home made, but they are ok. The salsa is ok. Queso is good. Not like some places that water it down so much it's nasty. We've gotten enchiladas before, the tortillas were really tough, so I don't order those anymore. I usually go in there or order after lunch, like 2 pm so maybe that's why enchiladas were tough. We haven't tried anything else but what I stated above. When we do, I'll add another review. The prices are very reasonable. Decor is bright & fun. read more
