It was hot AF and tasted like a grandma's recipe. Very pungent, some fish taste to it, very robust and very hot. They have an assortment of veggies and some homemade kimchi. Some unique asian veggies which are nice but selection seems a bit scattered as it's not your local Walmart full of inventories but there's enough stuff here to get you by. Had to add a review on here since they had good service, unique items, and solid veggie selection.

If I need any Asian grocery items, I usually just have my mom get them for me from a list that I would send her. I am very sensitive to smell and vomit very easily so I try to go in and out of Asian grocery stores as quickly as possible and especially on an empty stomach just in case I do vomit. The raw meat section smell is terrifying at every Asian market I wish it was sectioned far away from the entrance of deli foods. But it's not & they cut the raw meats in the open air (not enclosed or closed door separate room) & the smell lingers into the entire store at every Asian market & just makes me very ill. Luckily, the deli register line is only for the deli so I can just order deli foods and check out in the same line and then I'm out the door.

This time around, I came specifically looking for a piñata, and they had a great variety to choose from. You can tell a lot of care goes into curating the products here. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and more than happy to answer all my questions. And let me just say--it smells amazing inside. I was so tempted to grab some pistachio ice cream, but sadly I wasn't heading home and didn't want it to melt. Next time, for sure! Whether you're shopping for groceries, picking up a treat, or just browsing, Mexatlán never disappoints.

They have a variety of gifts, bakery goods, produce, deli area, also an area where you can have different types of cooked meals. I decided to get a pound of carnitas which was delicious! They came with a pack of tortillas and salsas. People were very friendly and this was all in Spanish. They have a variety of products from South American as well not just Mexican products. They had a great selection of everything honestly! I'm looking forward to coming here again and bringing my family. They offer food, but I think it's only available on the weekends. They also carry some items I didn't expect to see in store, like Mizu Lab electrolytes. Didn't interact with anyone working the store part, they didn't even acknowledge my existence if I'm being honest but that's an Asian store for you. Everything was clean, well stocked for its size, lots of options. Not much fresh produce but that's okay. They also carry Jolibee at this location that they pick up from Chicago like they do at the Burnsville location. Nice option to have when you don't want to do the St Paul trek.
