I believe our guide was Chipol (apologies if we got his name wrong) - he was terrific! My wife and I were the only 2 on the boat, a well-equipped panga with a nice canopy. He drove us around the largest island, and we got to see our first blue- footed boobie! The snorkeling was very good, water pretty good with about 30'+ visibility. Saw LOTS of fish, schools of many different types - was excellent! We were probably in water about 30 minutes, we had enough. Chipol took us near the shoreline, and pointed out different sites. He obviously takes great pride in his work and the area - he stopped a couple groups not outfitted with life vests as required in the Preserve area. Highly recommend Mismaloya Adventures for snorkeling and diving!!

Lily is a smart, generous, kind, trusting person who really knows her diving stuff. She made me feel comfortable as it's been a couple of years since i last dove and I was very nervous. It was also my 13 year olds sons real first open water dive (since he PADI qualified 2 years ago), Lily instructed and guided him, let him practice, it was a very nice relaxed paced, and I trusted Lilly with mine and my family's life. I would without a doubt dive with Lily again next time we are in PV. I would recommend her to everyone I know and everyone who would like to diver here in PV. She took us to the best spots and even took her GoPro, took so many photos and videos of us on our two dives together and then she downloaded them all to my phone. We all are very happy we booked with Mismaloya Adventures. It was such a fun experience I really would love to do it tomorrow too! I would HIGHLY recommend booking with Mismaloya for diving or any of your future adventures! Love, Jill Steven and Logan

My guide, Diego, made everything feel easy and relaxed and brought water and snacks to enjoy during breaks on the water. We spent around 2-3 hours on the water, so it's great for those who are at least somewhat physically fit. The guides are pretty flexible about taking breaks as needed. The tour included snorkeling in bioluminescent water (which was very fun) and they took great photos of me paddling, (included in the package). After several hours on the water, they offered freshly-made pizza and other food for a cost, which was the perfect meal after a long time on the water. The whole staff was friendly and made me feel welcome especially since I was a solo traveler. It was a great value, would highly recommend this tour to everyone!

We had a great time paddling out in our double kayak with a group of about 10 and 2 guides to Los Arcos at sunset. We paddled through a few caves, saw a blue footed boobie, and waited for darkness to set in. Once it was dark, we had the opportunity to snorkel in the water to see the bioluminescence up close. The experience was my favorite of the weeklong trip we had in Puerto Vallarta. We were surprised with hot chocolate and fruit upon the return. We had photos sent to us that were included in the price of the trip. It was extremely nice to have the shuttle to take us back to PV at no extra expense. I would highly recommend the bioluminescent paddle experience!

With the boat tours they tell you exactly when to show up. The computers have all your details and if there's a problem or if you have questions, they help you and are very professional about it. Your ticket is clear- which boat number and trip you're on. They make announcements ahead of time and it's in an orderly fashion. Once on the boat, it's party time. They have different styles of boats depending on your trip but they all are clean and operated by professionals. I'm saying this a lot because when safety matters, you want to know that people are trained for their jobs. We had a highly skilled captain, very entertaining and informative tour guide and many helpful deckhands. We snorkeled (clean equipment), bird watched, saw many whales, sea turtles and went to a secluded beach. All food and drinks provided were tasty and abundant. We arrived back at port safely and highly enjoyed our excursion. If we had more time, we would have done more.

The entire staff was extremely helpful and thoughtful. We had such a great experience with the dolphin swim that before we left we booked our next adventure to Rhythms of the Night. This was yet another fantastic experience. The boat ride there and back were both a complete blast. Dinner on the island was more than we expected. The show itself blew us away. We will definitely be booking with them when we return to Puerto Vallarta!

I was part of an inaugural diving trip for Queer and Trans divers hosted by Narwhal Divers (https://www.narwhaldivers.com/). The founder of Narwhal, Niko, has been diving with Marc for many years. (Marc had a number of repeat customers on every dive/snorkel excursion.) Marc and the crew were respectful to us all. They were precise with correct pronoun usage and helped everyone feel welcome. While Marc comes across as a jokester on land, as a dive master he was calm, patient, organized, and safety-focused. He made efficient decisions and clear instructions. The visibility in the water varied dive to dive and a few of us got separated from the group at various times. As Marc had done a safety briefing on the boat, each of us knew what to do and all remained well. When I got separated, I didn't panic, started my ascent, and Mark located me during my safety stop. (Other dive boats in the area had helped him locate me by my air bubble stream. Clearly a community that all looks out for others!) Marc and I returned to the group and the dive continued without issue. We even saw a massive turtle on our final dive!!! [Even with marginal visibility, other sightings included many octopuses, a baby jellyfish, sea urchins, sea snakes, sting rays, sea cucumber, eel, nudibranchs, lobster, starfish, fresh coral and soooooooo many fish. Marc clearly knew the seascape well and was able to guide us to incredible underwater moments!] I look forward to diving with Marc and his team in the future!

Review of Paleteria La Michoacana/ Boutique Jewelry Sale…read more *Do not buy jewelry here.* They sell ice cream, jewelry and clothing. They are a mother/ daughter duo that sell crocheted jewelry and crocheted clothing. My mom bought a hat from them a year ago and I purchased two sets of earrings and a necklace. I recently bought the necklace and matching earrings on the same trip when the cartel fires occurred. I placed the items in my portable jewelry box and was excited to wear them when I returned to The States. Upon my arrival back home, I opened my jewelry box and gasped because the stone on my necklace had fallen out. I was super bummed bc I never even had the chance to wear it. Not once! I had only bought it 3 days before. I don't understand what happened to the necklace. I did not do anything extraordinary when I placed it in my travel jewelry box and I always take very good care of the jewelry I own. I did not stress out too much bc I knew I'd be returning soon and my mom and I had already spent a considerable amount of money on their crocheted goods. It just seemed to me that any repair or exchange for something that clearly was not made well was a given and the right thing to do. I also sell art, jewelry and clothing. Part of good customer service is to take care of your repeated customers and to stand behind your wares. If the tables were turned and this same situation had occurred to me, I would have given the purchaser store credit of the same value or I would have repaired the necklace. I would have done so without complaint bc I take pride in my artistic endeavors and I care about people who support my work. In all honesty, I do not ask of others what I would not do in return. Anyway, the lady that made the necklace said I waited too long for her to be able to help me out! I explained to her that within the 2-3 days of purchase the stone had fallen out and that I had already arrived back in The States. She then accused me of pulling the stone out. (Why on earth would I do that?) It had only been 1 month and 3 weeks since I purchased the necklace. I did not have her contact information, she does not have business cards or a visible social media sign and she does not offer a receipt of purchase that has a business phone contact . How was I supposed to contact her? I came back as soon as I could. When I told her I never wore it, she said how could she know that I had not worn it. When I showed the necklace to her there was no discoloration or body oil on it. It literally looked brand new. I was shocked bc even though I was telling the truth and I had never worn it, it should not matter. The stone SHOULD NOT fall out in such a short period of time, period. The necklace was 750 pesos. I never haggled to lower the price. I should be able to wear the necklace for an entire year without the damn stone falling out! From the minute I brought the necklace in she treated me with disdain and was full of excuses and accusations. There was never any point where she self-reflected or considered that she screwed up and made a crappy product. The crazy thing was that I was planning on buying additional jewelry from her if she fixed the necklace or gave me store credit. (I never expected a refund!) My mom was planning on buying another hat too. I would have been a returning customer and bought more stuff from them many more times! I LOVE to buy gifts for people including vendors and people that do work for me. I bring my car mechanic cookies! I'm not even joking. How do you explain to someone that they are shooting themselves in the foot by their unscrupulous behavior and business practice. Not only is it costing them money (that they stood to gain from repeated customer purchases). But it's going to cost them future customers. Word of mouth travels far. Not only was it upsetting that this lady did not care about doing the right thing when she sold me something that literally fell apart 48 hours after purchase. I was also upset by her behavior, she behaved obstinate and scornful. She made it clear that she was not going to fix or exchange the necklace and she made it obvious that she did not give a shit. When I left I could hear her and her mother laughing at me.

It was a very affordable boat ride, we were taken out and showing a couple of the rocks and the birds. We were taken out to snorkel and given maybe 30 minutes to snorkel and rushed back. Wewere then brought to the shore and we had to get in and off the boat on the shore. It was a little rough for some of the people but they helped us and we're very kind about it. We were then brought to a restaurant and sat down to eat and given a menu. The food was way over priced. 300 pesos for some ceviche and 200 pesos for four empanadas at a plastic table with flies swarming. I live in Mexico and we're talking feet in the sand awesome w beach in front. Everything should've been 50-100 pesos less bare minimum. The annoying part was we were hounded at our table. There must've been 10 to 20 vendors that walked up to us the entire time. Some of the same ones came to 2-3 times. Bugging us the entire meal. Of course people were buying stuff so I get it. However the vendors were argumentative and way overpriced. I mean double. Once again my friends were buying stuff and I had to negotiate every time. The part that frustrated me the most was when the check came I said sir this is supposed to be 20 to 30 pesos less off each check m. Which is basically 10 to 15% of the bill and he leans in and says oh that's for me and my staff in the back. I said so are you going to tell everybody that tip is included and I yelled it out to the table. Watch out definitely hustling down here. I get it people have to make a living but there's awhile nother thing to be dishonest. And that's what really I didn't appreciate. Over pricing haggling and charging tips without telling people. I cannot stand this behavior from locals. It's just unacceptable. Thanks for reading my review and if you go down this path just keep your eyes out. I personally ordered the empanadas and they were just fried tacos. They were not empanadas. And the fish I got was not fresh. We took the bus out from constitution 363 in Emilio Zapata Romantico zone. It was 10 pesos and it brought us directly back later on in the day sometimes the buses are white and green. I'm not saying don't go it's a nice little beach but just it's important that you know how to navigate Mexico if you're going to go there or you will be ripped off.

I appreciated having the crew explain how to operate the ATV, safety advice, and how they followed along with the riders making sure we were all OK and taking photos & videos. The ATVs were well-maintained and in good working order. We had no breakdowns or operational issues among our tour group. We enjoyed the views and the stops along the way where we got to try making tortillas, and having a snack by the cool creek. We also stopped for a tequila tasting, which was informative and fun. The tour started at the Estigo facility in town and we were escorted out of town by the Estigo guides. It's a bit bumpy riding in town on cobblestone roads, but as soon as we were out of town it was smooth riding. We did a morning tour, so I struggled with sunlight in my eyes, which proved to be a bit concerning when rounding corners as we headed up the hills leaving town. I admit to white-knuckling the early part of the ride. Once we were in the foothills, I was able to relax and enjoy the surroundings. I booked this tour on my own through the Estigo website, which made it a much better value than one of the cruise ship excursions. We also had a smaller group and just took a cab from the cruise port to Estigo's faculty. I definitely recommend Estigo if you are looking for a fun activity when visiting Puerto Vallarta!
