We signed up online before traveling and found the office after we arrived - so you can book in person too. Very good organization from the beginning. With the boat tours they tell you exactly when to show up. The computers have all your details and if there's a problem or if you have questions, they help you and are very professional about it. Your ticket is clear- which boat number and trip you're on. They make announcements ahead of time and it's in an orderly fashion. Once on the boat, it's party time. They have different styles of boats depending on your trip but they all are clean and operated by professionals. I'm saying this a lot because when safety matters, you want to know that people are trained for their jobs. We had a highly skilled captain, very entertaining and informative tour guide and many helpful deckhands. We snorkeled (clean equipment), bird watched, saw many whales, sea turtles and went to a secluded beach. All food and drinks provided were tasty and abundant. We arrived back at port safely and highly enjoyed our excursion. If we had more time, we would have done more. read more

We were in PV for 7 days and our first adventure here was the dolphin swim which was a definite bucket list for me. Our swim was VERY interactive and hands-on and they spent a lot of time explaining dolphin behavior. My dolphin's name was Paco, a 7-year-old male. My girlfriend's dolphin's name was Shany, she was a 30 year old female. The trainers we had were absolutely AMAZING!!! For an additional $30 we were also able to book a swim with the sea lions. The entire staff was extremely helpful and thoughtful. We had such a great experience with the dolphin swim that before we left we booked our next adventure to Rhythms of the Night. This was yet another fantastic experience. The boat ride there and back were both a complete blast. Dinner on the island was more than we expected. The show itself blew us away. We will definitely be booking with them when we return to Puerto Vallarta! read more

I booked my best friend's bachelorette party specifically in Puerto Vallarta to go whale watching at this time of year. We arrived to the location and checked in. The lady handed us tickets and said "go this way" with no other direction. We followed the crowd of people getting on boats. I gave my ticket to a Vallarta Adventures employee who was collecting tickets on the dock and he directed me to get on the boat. We rode the boat completely expecting to be going whale watching with no indication of what this excursion actually was. Approximately 1 hour later we arrived at an adventure island that was actually a 7 hour excursion and NOT a 3 hour whale watching tour that I had booked. Luis (the boat host) told me the guy at the dock who was collecting tickets had worked at the company for 20 years and should have known better not to put us on that boat. We took a very small boat back to the dock and did not participate in any excursion on the adventure island (Las Caletas). I returned to the check in desk and let them know what had happened - asking for a refund or resolution to the issue. The company blatantly BLAMED us (the customers) for not getting on the correct boat. There was no discussion when we were checking in that the boat number was actually on our ticket. We were just told by the check in lady to "go this way" and that was all the instruction we received. The second mistake was the employee on the dock who took our tickets and directed us to get on the WRONG BOAT. Yet - the company still blamed us and refused any resolution or refund. Very very very disappointing since again I specifically booked this trip in PV for whale watching. Extremely horrible customer service. Blaming customers for a company's multiple mistakes is absolutely unacceptable. read more

The island itself is lovely. They must spray for bugs because there were none! The dinner was yummy and the show was outstanding. It was a good as any other Cirque du Soleil show. Very impressive talents. The boat crew were awesome! And photographers throughout the entire experience. We did 2 tours with Vallarta Adventures and loved both of them! We did luxury snorkeling on one day and extreme adventures on the next. They took good care of us and made sure to keep us safe on both. Luxury snorkeling was nice and we got to stop at the beach as well. Our tour guide, Manuel was knowledgeable and kind. Everyone else on the boat also took good care of us. We had a blast, saw lots of different fish, had snacks, drinks, and lunch. Loved that we stopped at the beach as well where we were able to take lots of pictures and ride the banana boat! Extreme adventures was also a very nice experience. Some were scarier than others but I still did them and had a great time. I'm glad I got to face some of my fears. The staff was friendly (Enrique, pauline, Erick, joya, Jorge, Katy, Alex, and hector) and they all took such good care of us. I never felt unsafe and knew I was in good hands. Please bring bug spray, there are lots of mosquitoes over there. And be aware if you want to ride the ATVs it's $50 extra non refundable insurance. We opted not to do that and still had fun and didn't feel like we missed much. If you want pictures, buy the picture packet when you book online because it's triple the price if you decide to get it on the spot. read more

Did the dolphin experience added onto our las caletas package. Las Caletas was amazing and got so many amazing pictures for a decent price. Chai was great and our photographer Diego was amazing. Fernando did great operating the boat in and out of the dock ports along with sea. The Lemurs and Spider Monkeys are a must. My husband had a great massage he forgot how to spell her name, but started with an A. The dolphin adventure too place on a different day and a different location. It was 30 min away from our BnB, but made due. The dolphins, Rocco, Kai, Nemo, and Luna were all very well trained and amazing. The instructor "Karen" LOL real name Poncho was amazing and very nice along with helper Charly and another trainer Alfonso. Great experience and recommend. The pictures for this is extremely pricy for what it is. For 7 hours of following the party of 6 around the price was beyond fair. But they wanted $60 more than that for a 20 min interaction. Total rip off in my opinion. Ended up walking away without pictures as you can't take your phone or pictures before hand. read more

We booked the Marietas Island and BBQ excursion. The check-in process was seamless. They offered free coffee while we were waiting for the excursion to begin. Once we boarded, we left their facility in Nuevo Vallarta and, unbeknownst to us, headed to the Port of Vallarta to pick up additional passengers. This resulted in over an hour of the entire trip to pick them up at the beginning of the day and then to return them first and then head to Nuevo Vallarta for everyone else to get off. That seemed completely unnecessary. That seems completely unnecessary. Either have a dedicated boat for those passengers or require those folks to taxi over to Nuevo Vallarta to catch the boat. It just added a lot of down time that made the trip a drag. I was also disappointed with the trip to Marietas island. I had hoped to see the blue footed boo y up close, but there is no way to get close enough to the island to actually see them without binoculars. It would be a nice perk if the crew had a few pairs of binoculars for the guests to use. The snorkeling was beautiful...lots of varieties of fish. The snorkeling was only about 30 minutes or so. The big boat drops you off and then at the end of snorkeling you have to climb up this steep ladder into this little boat which then takes you back to the big boat. After the snorkeling there is a LONG ride over to the BBQ. The food is average at best. At the BBQ location you can swim or kayak or just chill. We were at the BBQ location for about 90 minutes then back on the boat for the LOOOONNNNGGG ride back to drop off the passengers at the cruise port (the Port of Vallarta) and then to drop all the rest of us off. The day felt like a really expensive boat ride with a couple of non-boat ride things sprinkled in. The crew was super nice and helpful. The food on the boat was below average. They indicate they provide a "continental breakfast"...it's apples and bananas and one 3" piece of "sweet bread". Eat before you go! All in all, it was fine. I just think I could have probably spent that $115 on something that would have been more active and engaging rather than a really long boat ride! Maybe some of their land based excursions would be better? Not sure. read more

Booked a day trip to Las Caletas for my fiance and I with the adventure starting off at the rise and shine hour of 8am (which normally isn't a bad thing unless you find yourself out till the late night but I digress haha). We arrived at the Port with a prompt 8:20am departure. It's recommended you pay your port fee ahead of time and arrive with enough time so to not be rushed. The boat ride itself was a beautiful way to see the city and water/islands through a 40-minute ride. The boat is a double decker formatted to allow everyone to have a seat on both floors. Equipped with bathrooms and a bar. Once we got to Las Caletas, we were nicely greeted with a cold towel and beverages. The day trip lasted till about 4pm and we were able to explore the entire island. Lunch was a set buffet and what stood out to me was how organized the entire island was. Everyone was enjoying a delicious buffet at the same time and everyone had staff serving them trhoughout the island. I can't speak highly enough how amazing it was and the boat ride return was nice as well. read more

Had such an amazing birthday seeing rhythms of the night show! We sailed for an hour to get the island where the show is presented. We took pictures and enjoyed the sunset with some dolphin watching. When we arrived at the Island it was soo beautiful. We watched the show it was an amazing show. After the show we ate traditional Mexican food. Dinner was delicious. Then we boarded back to our boat. Then the night entertainment started. Really fun, great show. Had an amazing time. Customer service was phenomenal. Big shout out to party boat #4. Will highly recommend this show! read more

Vallarta Adventures does a lot of tours, but my comment is on the Rhythm of the Nights Show. We have been before and although it seems pricey it is well worth the cost. You take a one hour boat ride out to their "island" (it isn't really an island) where you disembark. It is like a scene from Survivor. There are tiki torches and candles everywhere, literally hundreds, maybe thousands. The dinner was surprisingly good with complimentary beer and wine, there is liquor on the boat too, unlimited. The show would be a hit in Vegas. There are numerous "Cirque" type acts. The show was amazing. The only complaint I have is you sit on narrow benches with no back rest. After a long show our backs really hurt. Bottom line, if you get a chance be sure and go to this show, you won't regret it. read more

We nearly missed our outing because no one provided accurate information. Fortunately, we were able to enjoy a wonderful day with an energetic, fun, and attentive crew. The break at their beach club provided a stunningly beautiful resting point before returning to port. Staff seem to genuinely enjoy being out on the water with each other. The experience completely turned around our otherwise dismal vacation. One note on the vegan lunch option: it was quite light (salad) but they offered extra guacamole (delish!) and it was just enough to be filling. read more

We booked this excursion two months before our trip and we had to do it over the phone as we wanted to do the Isla Marietas (hidden beach) excursion as well as the dolphin/sea lion extreme encounter in one day and it was not offered as a package online. HIDDEN BEACH: If you read the FAQ's prior to visiting the hidden beach, it says that you cannot wear sunscreen due to the coral reefs. However, you can in fact put on sunscreen prior to the boat departing the dock, as it allows time for the chemicals to dissolve before your dive. You just cannot apply the sunscreen when you get there. We did not discover until we were almost to the hidden beach that they have to park the boat a distance away from the entrance and that it can take up to 10 minutes to swim from the boat to the cave. It is required that everyone wear a life vest when in the water, so it was not that bad. Our guide, Enrique was very clear in his instructions and also confirming that everyone could swim. Of course, we ended up with a struggler and sadly, it caused Enrique to swim with him back to the boat. If you have a Go-Pro, I would suggest that you take it or you will have to rely on their photographer for your photos. I do not suggest taking your cell phone even if you have "waterproof" pouch. After our time at the hidden beach which was awesome, we went to the next spot to snorkel. The snorkeling sucked as the water was choppy and brown with no colorful fish or coral reef in sight, so no one stayed in the water longer than 15 minutes as it was boring. We were there in February during whale watching season (December-March), and there were quite a few whales in the ocean. Although we did not pay for the whale watching excursion, Enrique was freaking awesome and was able to take a circuitous route that put us in their path which made up for the dismal snorkeling. They say that they provide a light snack, but you will need to eat breakfast before you arrive and bring your own snacks and water. Only after the snorkeling adventure were we given a banana, a granola bar and a cup of water and this was about 2 1/2-3 hours into the excursion. EXTREME DOLPHIN/SEA LION ENCOUNTER: We had a 2 hour break before we met Davide and got to play with a sweet sea lion named Jenny. Not only was it a really cool experience, but it was also very educational. While that was fun, swimming with the dolphins was the BEST part of our day at Vallarta Adventures. You want to do the extreme encounter because you get to swim underwater while holding onto the dolphins! Alphonso and Mags were the guides for our encounter with Luna and Yashu and they were awesome! We booked a tour to Playa Las Caletas, and it is an absolute MUST! 12/10 recommend You take a boat from a cruise port hub (we were able to park in the main lot for free). I was a little nervous about becoming seasick, but thankfully that wasn't the case. LOGISTICS: Everything from start to finish was smooth and service was top notch. It's an incredible value, especially considering all the good food and alcohol available. The staff are super entertaining with their dance shows on the way to and from Las Caletas. It really felt like a party! LAS CALETAS: Upon the beach, there are a variety of activities: snorkeling, animal encounters, mezcal tasting, zip lining, cooking classes, etc. Even though we are a family with one infant and one toddler, we still were able to enjoy the day even if some activities were off limits for us. In particular, we had a blast with the animals at the animal encounters: my daughter had a hawk sit on her shoulder and my husband had a monkey do the same to him. There were also sea lions and sting rays and flamingos to admire from a distance. Moreover, mezcal tasting was memorable! My only semi complaint is that the guide was borderline aggressive with making everyone finish all the mezcal. Yes, it's a tasting, but we didn't know how much hard liquor we were getting upfront and it should be fine to TASTE and blindly agree not gulp quite a bit of heavy alcohol (I've wine tasted a few times, and I definitely got a greater volume of mezcal during this tasting than I got volume of wine when wine tasting). TLDR: All in all, but Las Caletas tour is an absolute must in PV. We would have done this two days in a row if we knew how high quality of an experience this was, but will be back for sure (and we'd also like to see Yelapa while we're at it)! read more

We booked a dive through our hotel and Vallarta adventures. When we booked they did not do a good job of explaining where we needed to meet or how to get there. We walked around for a bit at the marina until we finally asked someone and they pointed us in the right direction. There were no signs and the building is quite confusing if you've never been before. Because it's such a big company with so many activities happening each day, we had to wait in line with 200+ people and still no clear instructions. We took a boat from puerto Vallarta to Nuevo Vallarta and finally got on our dive boat about 2 hours after check in. We loved our dive master Ali and would dive again with him if we could but the instructions were clear and the operation was too big to feel like an authentic dive experience. It wasn't bad but we prefer smaller companies in the future read more

Good thing considering the HEIGHT of these Zips!! From the minute they picked me up, to dropping me off. Do not miss this LIFE changer!! The only drawback is the price of the photos. We did the zipline/rapelling adventure as an offered excursion off a cruise ship. I don't like heights so this was a bit of a stretch for me but assured by all my companions who had ziplined before that it would be ok. It was ok ... it was more than ok... it was awesome! I didn't realize that it included rapelling and a tarzan swing and a high up water slide too. The night before I did a ton of research what it would be like and came in with lots of nerves. What transformed it from scary to incredible was the staff's focus on safety first (zero incidents and hundreds of hours of safety training), encouragement and the attention to detail. This is an exceptionally professional organization. They even have ice cold coolers at points up the one hike up a mountain. Every new little "extreme adventure" just felt like safe but incredibly fun. They keep you strapped in so securely. Even though the Panama Canal was supposed to be the highlight of this trip (and it WAS awesome) this day is what I'll think about when I first think of my trip. One hint: if you're planning to go down the waterslide - bring a change of clothing. They have great facilities to change afterward - so many little touches to make the experience awesome. I'd just like to thank the whole staff - you are all so kind and supportive - but especially Hector. This was a huge bucket list adventure! read more

My wife and I did the Sea Safari. Regardless if its your first time or not in PVR, this is a MUST. This is the type of excursion/day in your vacation where you will be active so mentally prepare your vacation accordingly if you have something active the day before or after...or if you don't care then by all means! Diego, Chima, and Daniel were all fantastic guides. I forgot our boat captain but he was great too. You start off in a speed boat and make your way to Los Arcos to snorkel. The speed boat can get a bit bumpy but you're in a speed boat - so its expected. You can bring shoes if you want but I was able to do everything in sandals and slippers. Make sure you bring sunscreen and to reapply every break you can if you're sensitive. Diego does a great job of accounting for everyone while providing history of the land with fun facts while Chima is taking lots of shots. He takes a lot of candid shots as well but these guys are super friendly so don't be afraid to ask if you see a dope opportunity along the way. After snorkeling, is probably the best part for me and my wife. They took us to Quimixto into the home of an older couple; Don Benjamin and Don Tonya (I think that's how you spell it). It was a very welcoming experience where they cooked tortillas and we eat it with guac, beans, and salsa. It was something quick to have something in our stomachs. We enjoyed their company thoroughly. A lot of people will lay out the sequencing so I will just premise this review with the following: this team is showing you what it takes to live here and the beauty in life there is when you stop and look. And as tourists, the level of respect and hospitality given entering their motherland of folks who have been there for generations, I believe it needs to be reciprocated. Please bring cash for tips. Along the way, the guide will take you to fruit stands, bar stands, the homes of people to eat in. That is the people of this land who are showing you their culture and generosity. If you can afford this excursion, you can afford to pay a little extra along the way. And by all means, that is not to discount the experience!!! This experience made me feel at home and specifically, the Philippines. After snorkeling and town hopping, you go horseback riding, and then walk through Yelapa to a waterfall to freshen up. Afterwards you go back by boat to Calletas or a beachfront to eat lunch. The lunch is free but again - don't forget to thank those who have given the time out of their day to service you. Also the lunch/meal at the end is REALLY good. It will be hot and humid so prepare to sweat like a mofo, BUT keep in mind...humidity is good for your pores. Now I sound like those old ahh Azn folks hahaha. What I did appreciate is when Diego would mention what we needed for the next excursion such as bring your wallet and slippers/shoes or whatever. read more

I did Rhythms of the Night through them and I really enjoyed the show. The experience overall felt rushed, though. The price accounts for being all-inclusive (all you can eat and drink), but they rush you through dinner so there really isn't a chance to get at or drink that much. During the show you can't get back up for a drink anymore, so you basically have to chug whatever you have before the show. However, you can you drink as much as you want on the boat ride to and from, but no more food. read more

Our family of four spent several hundred US dollars on our excursion to Yelapa and Majahuitas. The tour was advertised to be around 7.5 hours. We were told to be there promptly by 7:30am, but it didn't actually leave until 8:00am. The boat ride and crew on the cruise part was nice. The snorkeling portion was short at less than an hour. I found it pretty ridiculous that they forced you to wear a life jacket to snorkel. It made it difficult to actually snorkel well and really should have been up to the discretion of the customer. Even in the US, companies just have you sign a liability waiver to relinquish risk. A little overkill and spoiled the fun of that activity. The spot was pretty and there were beautiful fish. So they get a star for that. At Yelapa, we were bombarded by all the third party vendors. Felt like lambs to the slaughter. My son exited the water taxi on the beach and a guy literally plops an iguana in his arms and demands we give him money. Good grief! There is an option for a hike to a waterfall with no water flowing. I'm glad we chose to rest on the beach. The boat stopped at another port in downtown both ways. This secondary stop turned the excursion into almost 8+ hours. Normally, I wouldn't care, but we needed to get back to our hotel for a reservation by a certain time. I budgeted extra time for this excursion and they still went way over. Upon return to the marina, we were rushing to get to the water taxi so we could get back to the hotel on time. They seated a party on the last seats of the taxi who didn't have everyone there even though my family was all present. The staff didn't care about our time crunch and left us to wait for the next one. I pointed out that their tour ran over, but all of a sudden the staff couldn't be bothered to help us. One of the workers began screaming at us to move off the dock in Spanish because they all of a sudden didn't know any English. In our experience, this company has no clue how to make customers feel welcomed. They're only concern is to get their money and tips and very little hospitality. read more

We went on the sea safari to Yelapa and Pizota. The experience up front booking the tour was super easy. I also had to call customer service as we were running late and that was easy as well. The overall tour experience was fantastic. Please note: if you get sea sick at all or are afraid of boats, this isn't the tour for you as you will be on a speed boat trip in a smaller boat for about 45 minutes both ways. The staff was attentive and especially with my boyfriend, who is afraid of swimming, super helpful trying to help him with the snorkeling portion. We went on a horseback ride around Yelapa, then walked around, to the waterfall, and trying some local spirits. Then to snorkeling, on to Pizota for lunch and hang time, and then back to PV. The lunch in Pizota was the highlight. SO good and far exceeded our expectations. We met great people on the tour as well, which I always enjoy. Some things to work on: I had believed there would be an option of kayaking from reading the description, so points off there as I didn't want snorkeling to be the only option for my boyfriend, who was afraid of swimming. Need a little bit more description there. The lead on this trip seemed to have a little chip on his shoulder for some reason; either he just was having a bad day, or that's his personality...but he could stand to lighten up a bit. read more

The snorkeling was gorgeous, so many fish, and all colorful. The water was clear and refreshing. The town of Yelapa and hike to the waterfall was memorable. The beach bbq and swim was amazing. Pablo told us all about the whales and even dropped a hydrophone into the water so we could hear the whales sing. My family did the Outdoor Zipline Adventure, booked through Carnival. It was exactly as described and this provider operated it very well. Everyone involved was friendly and professional. Great mix of activities that, looking at old maps, have evolved & grown a bit over the years. They do move the group along, which is not only good for their throughout but also so you don't have too much time to contemplate the crazy thing you're about to do. I scheduled the Luxury Snorkeling Tour but I missed the boat because my clock was set on Cali time. I was rescheduled by the nice staff to another sail boating adventure. I got motion sickness really bad and the staff took such good care of me. Thank you to the entire staff of the new sailboat that I was assigned to for accommodating me while I was very sick. It meant a lot because I'm a tourist in Mexico and your professionalism and care meant the world to me at that time. Thank you again Vallarta Adventures. My bachelorette group and I signed up for two excursions through Vallarta Adventures from the lobby of our hotel. We absolutely loved both, as they offered a unique look at the nature and cuisine of Mexico! With the promotions from the hotel, the excursions came up to 108USD per person and we all felt it was good value for what we got. Prices online were similar, if not more. Staff was always welcoming and answered any questions we had. I would warn that the boat cruise has some services (photography via DSLR and GoPro) and tips that are not included in the initial purchase, which are optional. I purchased the photos to be used for prints for my wedding guestbook but when I reviewed them on the link they sent later, I did not think they were worth the fee that we negotiated for. read more

Went on the San Sebastián town tour excellent history tour about Mexico family's The town itself is kinda slow not much going on if you want to shopping tour this is not the one . Do the town of PV for that . Like I said this one is good if you like history the guide is very knowledgeable about this tour he been doing the same tour for 16 years or so . Lunch was excellent I usually don't care to much for the red meat here in Mexico but steak that they prepared was great very tasty and lean no fat I was pleasantly surprised. You go a agave tour and church tour and the first stop is a bakery wow wow . Then stop at a coffee roaster stop we got some dark roast it was a fun day .
