Marc and his crew (Chuie, Herman, Bill and Captain Emiliano) were excellent communicators and experts in Los Arcos scuba diving. Marc is a lanky Brit who has lived in PV for 17 years and has learned fluent Spanish. He has put together a wonderful business and has a great respect for all people and nature. I was part of an inaugural diving trip for Queer and Trans divers hosted by Narwhal Divers (https://www.narwhaldivers.com/). The founder of Narwhal, Niko, has been diving with Marc for many years. (Marc had a number of repeat customers on every dive/snorkel excursion.) Marc and the crew were respectful to us all. They were precise with correct pronoun usage and helped everyone feel welcome. While Marc comes across as a jokester on land, as a dive master he was calm, patient, organized, and safety-focused. He made efficient decisions and clear instructions. The visibility in the water varied dive to dive and a few of us got separated from the group at various times. As Marc had done a safety briefing on the boat, each of us knew what to do and all remained well. When I got separated, I didn't panic, started my ascent, and Mark located me during my safety stop. (Other dive boats in the area had helped him locate me by my air bubble stream. Clearly a community that all looks out for others!) Marc and I returned to the group and the dive continued without issue. We even saw a massive turtle on our final dive!!! [Even with marginal visibility, other sightings included many octopuses, a baby jellyfish, sea urchins, sea snakes, sting rays, sea cucumber, eel, nudibranchs, lobster, starfish, fresh coral and soooooooo many fish. Marc clearly knew the seascape well and was able to guide us to incredible underwater moments!] I look forward to diving with Marc and his team in the future! read more

Absolutely incredible experience. Alun is quick to reply to emails and get you booked for your adventure. Marc, Alex and Chuy are so fun to dive with. Each have different interests under the water so it's great to pair up with each of them. I did a total of 10 dives with PV Ocean Tours and each one was awesome. One of the best things is that they include wet suits in your rentals (3 and 7mm), along with all the other gear. The PV Ocean team loves diving and does their best to dive as long as possible and give a great experience to each person on the tour. I also got my PADI certification with Marc. We did a Los Arcos 2-tank dive, and had a fantastic experience. We met Alun and Alex at Playa Mismaloya at 8:30am, and were shortly on our 5 minute boat ride to Los Arcos. A quick refresher and gear check and we were in the water, where Divemaster Alex lead the way for almost a good hour through the water with Divemaster Alun taking up the rear. Lots of sea life and the water was super warm (only needed my rash guard), we dove between 35-65ft.. some rest and lunch after the first dive, they provided ham/cheese sammies and water. Second dive was equally as nice, we were able to stay down for nearly an hour. We got back to the beach around 1:30 or 2pm, and hitched a ride back to our hotel from there. Alun and Alex were attentive and very pleasant to work with, we even lucked out and got the boat to ourselves! So much better than going through a large dive company where you have to accompany 10+ other people on the boat... highly recommended, we'll definitely be hitting them up again next time we're in the area! read more

Mark & Alun are awesome guides; I highly recommend PV Ocean Tours and will definitely hit them up on our next trip to Puerto Vallarta. Three years ago, we went from where we were staying, up in Nuevo Vallarta, with Vallarta Adventures and had to not only wait for a long time while they called the other tours first, but we also had a very long boat ride (in an open panga) all the way to Los Arcos. This time, my buddy had the great idea to head to PV to save us all that and we even had time to stop in town on our way back up to Nuevo Vallarta. We saw all the great reviews for PV Ocean Tours and they had the last minute availability for which we were looking. Mark & Alun met us at the superbly quaint Mismaloya Beach (south of PV about 30 minutes), had us fill out our forms and got us our gear quickly. This was nothing like what we had to endure with Vallarta Adventures and the masses that flock to their services. We were on the panga (boat) with Mark in no time at all and we were a mere 5 minutes' ride to Los Arcos & the 'Aquarium'. Mark was a great, friendly and entertaining host and divemaster. I really appreciated his humor, explanations, professionalism, ham & cheese sandwiches and the surprise selfie he took while shooting pictures of us with our phone. We had two dives and they were great and Mark continuously checked on the 3 of us throughout the dive. Back at the beach, Mark had a great recommendation for lunch at one of the amazing beachside restaurants where we ate and enjoyed a few beers. My company selected PV Ocean Tours when we visited PV in October of 2019. We had a great time and saw sea snakes, stonefish and many other interesting fish. We were taken through an underwater cave and down to about 70 feet. There were enough wetsuits of all sizes even though the water was warm. The staff was attentive to all our needs. Went diving with Marc and his crew for 2 days while in Puerto Vallarta and was so glad that I did! Small shop, but extraordinary customer service and care. I'd say i'm an intermediate diver, but really appreciated the feedback and suggestions he offered. Marc was very good about checking in and very observant of his clients that were diving with him. Felt even more confident after getting 4 more dives in and were able to see some incredible sea life and seascapes. They do an excellent job of pointing out fish, octopus, turtles, etc but also took my camera a few times to get some incredible shots that I would not have been able to capture myself (i.e. turtle in foreground and myself in the frame) Conditions were just right and we also got to see a Manta Ray! If we could give more than 5 stars we would. From the beginning, Marc and his crew were fantastic. From being prompt in responding to emails from the time we booked, all the way until the night before the dive, we were never left in the dark. 2 nights before the dive he sent us an email letting us know that there was a possibility of rescheduling because of bad wether. However, the night before he email and said we were good to go. The morning of the dive, we took a cab to the beach. It's a short walk to the beach where we meet Marc and the other divers. Marc asked us about our experience and our skill level. My wife and I are both open water certified but this was our first dive since COVID (1.5 years plus). Marc was excellent at taking care of us and helping to calm the pre dive nerves. In between the two dives he gave us some tips on how to control my breathing and we were able to dive longer on the 2nd dive. No matter your skill level, I would highly recommend PV ocean tours. They are accommodating on multiple levels and the customer service is 2nd to none. read more

A friend and I took the PADI open water certification course led by Marc, and it was excellent! The course is done just for your group, which made it very comfortable and created plenty of space for us to go at our own pace, ask questions, and do the practice exercises as many times as we needed to feel comfortable in the pool and ocean. We dived at Los Arcos and in another cove and both were excellent -- very clear water, a ton of fish and other marine life (turtles, octopus, and rays were some of the highlights). Remarkable experience!!! My wife and I have never been scuba diving but we decided to go early for a quick pool diving experience after that we went on a very personalized tour and we did our first 2 dives. It was amazing. The guides Mark and Alex made us feel really comfortable and were super nice guys. We went for a hike to the waterfall and had some amazing seafood for lunch. Mark and Alun were great! They have a great team and all were safety cautious. There were 4 of us diving, 2 experienced and 2 beginners. We took the pool course before going out into the ocean for our dives. Mark was very patient and comforting to our needs. He took as long as we needed in the pool to teach us the basics and also gave several bonus tips for the ocean dive the following day. The dives were wonderful! Again, Alun and Mark guided us from start to finish, even throughout the dive Mark's and Alun's eyes were always on us, while Alun stayed in the back watching us from behind, but still cautious of our surroundings pointing out turtles, eels, pufferfish, octopus, stingray and misc other fish and sea life. I had difficulties equalizing one of my ears and Mark and Alun were very helpful with working me through it. They were very accommodating and took the time and attention towards each of us. All in all we had wonderful dives and an awesome, top notch experience. We will definitely contact PV Ocean Tours next time in PV to dive again. They are great fun! I highly recommend them. I was referred to this company by another local dive shop who wasn't operating any longer. I was extremely impressed by their quick and detailed email responses. I went scuba diving with them. I met them at the designated beach location and boarded their small boat to go diving. It was a small group of snorkels and just myself diving with my dive master. The boat does not have a bathroom so that's a bit of a downfall if needed but the dives that day were all close to the beach and some of the local shops have a bathroom before or after you start. The staff was all extremely nice and gave good instruction and details about what to expect. Unfortunately the visibility was not good and it was too choppy to go thru the underground tunnels but can't blame that on them. Overall the dives were basic saw a few turtles and the basic fish but nothing too scenic. But I like how customer oriented they are from email to completion. They even gave me a ride back to town :) I would use them again. read more

In 2017, I came to PV Ocean Tours to earn my Divemaster certification. This time, I came as a customer, and I experienced nothing but remarkable service once again from the team. Alex was a great guide always looking out for critters big and small. The new boat (new since my last review) is more spacious than the old boat. Also, since the team provides a small lunch to customers, if you have dietary needs (I.e vegetarian), they will accommodate as long as you email them before the day of your excursion. My adult kid and I did the two tank Majahuitas dive with PV in late December. We had a wonderful time. We were met by friendly folks right where the road meets the beach, got our gear, and were on the boat in ten minutes. There were supposed to be four people on this dive, but the other couple (not part of our group) cancelled. Unlike some other operators, PV was still happy to take us out on what became an impromptu private dive day. The gear was high quality, the diving was great, and everything was very safely run. The guides did a great job showing us some things/critters we might not have found by ourselves. My only recommendation for them is to maybe bring something other than water to drink in case some people want that, and the ham and cheese sandwiches were a little plain. Those are tiny complaints, though, as there was plenty to eat and drink, and I happily give all the stars to the folks there. I would definitely recommend. read more

I recently reserved a really enjoyable day of diving with Marc Pearsey during our recent cruise PV port call. As other reviewers state, Marc, his boat captain Alfonso and divemaster Chris offer VERY professional & fun dive excursions. The SCUBA equipment (particularly BCDs) & exposure suit they brought me were excellent & in very good / almost new condition. One thing to know is that you'll have to meet Marc & company at the Mismaloya beach, which for me was about a 30 minute cab ride from the cruise dock (cab drivers started off with $40 price quotes, but thanks to my Spanish I was able to get this down to $25). One TOTALLY cool gesture was that Marc drove me back to the ship gratis after our dive....and I gladly added this avoided return cab fare to their well earned crew tips. The waters on my dive day were about 25 - 30 ft viz and 75 F temps. We dove the PV Marahuitas & Mismaloya sites and saw: great fan corals, a seahorse (my 1st thanks to eagle eyes of Chris), several eels, schools of jack & angel fish, sea snakes, nudibranch, star fish, incredible urchins and an EAGLE RAY (about 8 ft wing span). Bring a dive light if you have one to search rock nooks & crannies. In sum, Marc and the PV Oceantours crew offer a very value-priced dive offering and I recommend you look no further. read more

We have been diving as a family with Marc about once a year for over ten years. I have been certified since 1970 and since then have dove all over the world. Unequivocally, diving with PV is as good as it gets. Marc, Alun, Roberto, Alex are all friendly, helpful and most importantly fun. They even put my wife's equipment on in the water to make it easier on her.This time my daughter and I received our rescue diver certifications. Not only was the program informative it was seamlessly integrated into our dives. I had never paid much attention but learned Marc has Oxygen, First Aid and even a system to get a helpless diver out of the water. Being blunt, this was a great scuba diving experience. Our group split both snorkeling and scuba diving. Alun was our dive guide and he was very nice, personable, and funny. Even though the water visibility wasn't great the morning we dove, he had a great eye for spotting all the animals under the water. There were also fish we didn't recognize so he gave us a signal to use to ask him to remember what we saw so he could describe it all to us when we were back out of the water which was really cool. The rest of the crew were also enjoyable to be around. Alex was took the snorkelers out and helped get all the divers into their BCDs, and Alonso was the captain of the boat and could spot whales(which we saw two!) hundreds of yards away! We would all recommend diving with PV Ocean Tours for a great way to see the south side of Puerto Vallarta! read more

Look. This review might be long. Short version- book with them. I was with a group of 4 friends and we went with Mark, Allen and Chris for a wonderful scuba diving trip. We were all certified divers but it had been years since we'd dove. Mark and his crew did a thorough refresher with is and made sure we were ready to dive. I had some issues with anxiety. To the point that I wanted to give up and snorkel instead. Mark would not tolerate that. He did a phenomenal job helping me regain my calm and working with me a slow and easy pace. It was clear that his utmost priority was making sure I had a good experience. My experience was more than good. The dive was amazing and something I'll never forget. I'll be eternally grateful for Mark's gentle push and calm, supportive demeanor. Had it not been for him, I would have missed out! The customer service is top notch. The price is right. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! These guys made everything so smooth for us - from the easy and responsive communication leading up to our trip to every detail of the tour itself. We did a full-day boat tour while at port during our cruise and they made sure to give us plenty of time to get back to the ship with no problem. The tour was incredible and we loved being able to customize our own itinerary. My husband was able to do 2 scuba dives while I enjoyed the beach with our daughters and we had a lovely horseback ride up to the waterfall at Quimixto. It was by far the highlight of our trip. My wife, two friends and I booked PV Ocean Tours and we are so glad we did. Marc was an incredible guide and instructor. We enjoyed a short boat ride to beautiful place to snorkel. Brown Pelicans nested above on the Island that we snorkeled next to. My wife went diving with the Dive Master Chris and she enjoyed his enthusiasm while under the water and seeing lots of eels and countless underwater beauties. We then took another short boat ride where we snorkeled some more and my wife went for dive number two. We then had lunch on the beach. Sandwiches were quite delicious. Our last stop we hiked up a trail to a waterfall that was quite beautiful. We swam under the waterfall and had a couple of reasonably priced cervezas. We sat there and talked to Marc and relaxed. After awhile we hiked back to the dock and headed back home. Overall this was affordable, fun, and I highly recommend it. read more
