For years this has been the best Mexican Restaurant in Evansville. Guacamole is spot on. Margaritas are perfect. Great experience.

Very vibrant decor and crowd Saturday night but we were seated Immediately. Our food was excellent and our server Carlos took great care of our table and checked back offer for our hot sauce needs and refills. This was a great visit. Recently did an online order for scheduled pick up. Arrived on the time I scheduled pick up and food wasn't ready. Fast forward 45mins still no food, finally one of the workers went to the back to figure out what was going on and reported that they haven't even started food. The excuse was they got busy and ignored online orders. However, door dash and grubhub pick ups came out nice and on time as 4/5 orders were picked up in the hour I was waiting for my order. read more

I expected more from this location. Nice decor and I was greeted with a great smile to seat me. Very spacious restaurant. I ordered steak Mexican style. My rice and beans were delicious and hot. While I did not expect a huge T- bone steak for the price I did expect it to be tender. It was well cooked but had allot of gristle. read more

My review is limited because I ate pretty much the same thing both times I came here. Trying to eat low carb in Mexican restaurant didn't leave me with much options. I did eat their chips and dip (and queso as well on my first visit) served for the table and those were good. My meal both times was the large table side guac. The 2nd time I did order the street tacos that came with the steak. I then added just the beef into my guac and ate that. Very good and the beef was tender. They seem to have a full bar, although there was a bit of language barrier with our waiter when I was trying to find out the types of Gin they carried. We did try shots of the Don Julio 1942 which was very good. I plan to return here but again I will prob just end up ordering the same guac as my meal again. There other menu items look like standard fare but I can't comment on the flavor authenticity. read more

Dined here on a Saturday for lunch. The restaurant was very busy but we were served quickly. I really enjoyed the, "Chicken on the Beach" meal. Our food was served in a matter of minutes. You can't go wrong dining at Las Bravo's. read more

For the first time ever I am going to change a review and give them a one star based on customer service. Disclaimer- I don't like to write bad reviews. Today we called in a To-go order. As we have done numerous times. The order was repeated to me and a total given. My son went to get it for us. Once he arrived they had no order ready and asked what we ordered. It was repeated twice once thru a phone call and they a text message I sent my son. They still got it wrong. We noticed once he was home as they just handed him the bag to leave. I called and asked to speak to a manager. The manager screamed and yelled at me saying I didn't know how to order and should learn their language. That there was nothing he would do and to accept the food given to us. He said I gave that extra fajitas to you because it was wrong order. (makes zero sense!) Los Bravos you should be ashamed and never cuss at a customer. After being a weekly regular for years - I will never be back. read more

Words can't describe how much I love this place. I'm from Louisville but my parent live in Evansville. When I visit them this is one of my favorite places to go. Since I don't get to eat here that often I never stray from my favorite chimichanga dish. Soooooooooooooooooo good. The flavors of the chimi are awesome and the chips and salsa are delicious! Found this while traveling through on the way home to St. Louis. Great find! Atmosphere was very Mexican including the wait staff who all spoke Spanish. This is usually a good sign when dining at a Mexican restaurant. I had a potato stuffed fajita lunch special which was huge and tasty. What a pleasant surprise. My girlfriend had the lunch combo beef burrito and taco. Unfortunately the taco shell as mushy and was as if it was ready early and sat waiting to be served. The burrito was delicious. All of this for only $15 (including an iced tea) and we had leftovers for another meal. We would definitely be frequenting this place if we lived here. read more

I've dined at Los Bravos Burkhardt for many years. Today was by far my worst experience ever dining here. We placed our order and after about a half hour, we still had not seen our food. The manager walked by to check on us, we kindly said we are good, just been waiting a good 30 minutes on our order. Come to find out, our server never put our order into the computer system, and didn't even apologize to us for neglecting to enter our order. Great place in an industrial park. Blink on your GPS and you'll drive around for days. However, when you find it, the decor is beautiful, and they really bring the outdoors to the inside of the building. The food is spectacular. Table-side Quac, and many drinks a' flowing. First off...WAY too bright inside! My eyes were seeing spots...Seriously! The bar section was not much better...Not a cozy, inviting spot anywhere...House Margaritas werent bad for the money...Menu was too "Busy"...WAY too many options (Im a firm believer that "More" is not necessarily better)...It was a little overwhelming. I ordered a Dinner Special...It was basically a combination of a few different (what I call Tex-Mex Items.. i.e. taco, enchilada, tamale, etc) things... Bottom line...There was no distinction in any of the taste...Everything was covered in an enchilada sauce and soupy cheese...Kinda spicy and salty..All items had ground beef, including the stuffed Poblano pepper...All tasted the same...Tamale was basically just corn meal (No stuffing at all!) Overall, just heavy, salty and filled us up too quickly and didnt leave us with a satisfying feeling. Although the prices are decent, I think they should shorten that menu down about 85%, make it more simple and a little more "Gourmet"! Lets not forget about that lighting! I don't recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food quality is very inconsistent depending on how busy the restaurant is. The customer service is horrible. The servers are rude and the overall attitude is that they really don't care if you are satisfied or not. Overall, the restaurant is not that clean. Considering that it is a new building and I saw a cockroach in the bathroom. There's plenty of Mexican restaurants in Evansville....do yourself a favor and don't go to this one. read more

The new location is really nice. That's where the good things stop. I grew up eating Los Bravos. Not sure what happened...maybe they just outgrew themselves. But they are overpriced and the portions are small compared to almost any other mexican place around. They still somehow have a huge following. I don't get it... If you want better food for less money head to Cancun (Henderson), Los Tres Caminos (North Side), or El Charro (West Side). read more
