There was a lot of plant growth around the house but with the googan frog it posed very few if any challenges outside the crappie house and inside was absolute magic . Was so grateful for the experience. Went back again at end of summer break and learned it was shut down indefinitely. The property looked more like a salvage yard or mechanic shop than a boat rental & resort. When I walked into the office, it had an unpleasant odor and did not inspire confidence. I started filling out the paperwork, but the employee at the counter disappeared without explanation. I stepped outside briefly to move my car, and when I returned, the owner approached me and bizarrely stated that I was "going to kill him." He then informed me that a boat had been returned damaged the day before and that there was no boat available for our reservation. We had driven two hours to get there and arrived at 10:30 a.m. on the Fourth of July, only to find out that our rental could not be honored. When I asked if there was anything they could do to help, the answer was simply no. The owner then grabbed a damaged propeller from the counter and used it to explain the situation. What made this even more questionable was that the propeller was covered in dust and did not even appear to match the model we had reserved. Afterward, I read additional reviews and found multiple accounts describing nearly the exact same experience. That made me question whether this was truly an unexpected issue or a recurring pattern. What frustrates me most is that they reportedly knew about the damage the day before. If that was the case, why wasn't I contacted before making a two-hour drive? A simple phone call could have saved us a significant amount of time, money, and frustration. Based on my experience, I would not recommend renting from this business.

Their guide KC guided us for our first guided instructional / coaching fishing trip to the San Gabriel River where we caught loads of bass, sunfish, Rios, Warmouths. KC introduced US to popper dropper fishing with nymphs, which yielded great success!! We attended their free Saturday class on introduction to fly fishing which included hands-on casting instruction and tips on where to fish, tackle to use and solid common sense conservation information. Living Waters conducts countless classes free to any and all who register. These classes are in part funded by federal or state grants awarded to qualifying organizations that DO NOT CHARGE for the classes. This is like gold for newbies like me. Inasmuch as I apparently like to decorate riverside trees with colorful flies, they have sold me countless flies to replace them. Once when I broke the tip of my 5 weight 9 ft TFO rod, they partnered with the rod manufacturer and arranged for a replacement tip to be on hand at Living Waters when we were passing thru Round Rock to go fishing on the San Marcos. Thank you TFO and Living Waters!!! I recently went on a guided float trip on the Llano River with guides Jim and KC lost count of the fish I caught and released and among those, countless Rios, which I LOVE to hook and fight.
