Got caught in a severe wind storm one night, which blew our canopy down so we had to get up at midnight in the rain to secure but Parkwise it was a great place. Very busy but sites are large so that helps a lot. Bathrooms are the best we've seen in Texas - clean, hot water, great water pressure, fully stocked. Beautiful lake with fishing, and kayak, canoes and paddleboars to rent. Lots of birds and great hiking among boulders and rocks. Will come back on future trips.

It was deeply embedded into the chairs and mattresses. It absorbed into all our clothes and sleeping bags and stuff sitting in there two days. After coming home our stuff is been in the garage a day and the smell is so potent the garage smells like faint smoke from airing out. If smells bother you even slightly, avoid that cabin at all costs. Not sure if others smell like it now too, and a bunch of jerks have just chain smoked in all cabins or just this one.

Had the absolute best day of fishing with the kids ever! There was a lot of plant growth around the house but with the googan frog it posed very few if any challenges outside the crappie house and inside was absolute magic . Was so grateful for the experience. Went back again at end of summer break and learned it was shut down indefinitely. If it ever opens again would love to bring the kids back , but respect the decision of the owner. The bait shop and cabins and location are simply awesome !

They've invested a great deal into their minnow and bait holding tanks, as well. Plus they have a precious puppy right now as a greeter, so how could you NOT stop by. Everything is well organized and they know their fishing equipment. Great folks, make sure to stop in and check out the place! Pretty soon they will have a BBQ place out back! I took them to paradise point to fish as we had done years ago. I loved paradise point and remember sitting and visiting with many people while we fished. We were there MAYBE 15 minutes. This old man comes out and rudely yells "you think you can just fish here!" We were stunned. He demanded payment for using the dock. We apologized and told him we didn't rise we had to pay. How much was it? He laughed and said "get out. You didn't think you had to pay?" I saud "sir, I've spent many a time here & didn't realize we had to pay. How much do we owe you"? He screamed "load up we're closed can't you read the sign?" We responded again. We didn't know. It's one thing if I owe you nut to be a complete jackass was totally uncalled for. I gave them a 1 star ONLY because its the lowest it would allow.

There is nothing wrong with this place, just not that interesting to visit. It is a warm water hatchery with lots of earthen ponds to raise the fish in. There is a nice set of informational signs and possibly at some time of year there might be fingerlings in the inside tanks. You can't feed them and you can't see them. So, if you decide to go, just don't make any promises of seeing fish. :)

This was our first time using a guide in our own city, but we wanted it to be special for our grandfather, a life long angler visiting from Baton Rouge. Hunter did not disappoint! We caught over 100 fish! He even got up at 3 AM to catch fresh bait, AND he cleaned our fish for us!! Can't wait to book our next trip with such a great young man!!

We had a blast and caught big fish. Mike and Annette are the Consummate hosts. They are so sweet , kind and helpful. Mike is THE Man. He helped us so much, right down to baking soda. Ha! It's had its share of park hosts and over the years it's improved aesthetically a lot but been hit or miss as far as our experience with the hosts. A couple years ago we swore we'd never be back because the hosts were essentially harassing us over every detail of our group (we tend to take about 10-15 camp sites, which is more than half of the park. This year was the best ever. The hosts, Mike and Annette, were AMAZING. They knew about our experience in the past and knew to give us the ground rules up front, and did it in the nicest way. They were constantly checking in to make sure we were having a great time, they hosted movie nights for the kids, drove the train around the park with the littlest ones, and just made sure our experience was amazing. We already booked a week for next year and can't wait. We hope Mike and Annette stay for many years!
