It seems like no matter when you here here, the parking lot is absolutely flooded with cars. Sure it's at the intersection of two major US highways (US 24 and US 67), but something else is causing people to drive a long ways just to eat here. Without question, this is the best Mexican food within 60 miles of Rushville. And this carnitas plate is an excellent reason why. Does that look loaded to you? Holy cow, I'm a big eater when I need to be, but let me tell ya I had a hard time eating all of this! A good problem to have though. It was very good and I enjoyed every bite. We eat here regularly. Food is always great. Service is quick and friendly. Soda/water cups are huge, I never have to ask for a refill!

We were visiting family locally, and there's not a lot to choose from here, restaurant wise. But Los Charros was a very pleasant surprise. I had the Arroz Con Marisco , which is crab, shrimp and scallops over rice. It was surprisingly good! I also loved the Salsa here, which was just the right amount of spicy for everyone at the table to enjoy. All entrees were wonderful, standard Mexican fare. Lots of options-including vegetarian!-on an expansive menu. Anytime my husband and I come to Rushville we always make a point to stop here to eat! The food and margaritas are the best! To be honest I haven't had anything bad off of the menu, but I always love their fish and or shrimp tacos. The rest of my family loves their grande burrito, chimichangas, and taco salad! read more

Very disappointed. While traveling for work, I decided to give Las Charros a try, being the Mexican food aficionado that I claim to be. I went with a lunch time burrito special, keeping it simple. It was not a traditional 2 a.m. burrito. It was more along the line of a burrito suiza. That would have been just fine. Curiously, the waiter never asked what kind of meat that I wanted. Hmmm... Coming from Chicago, I was surprised at how good this food is. Very unexpected from a small town in the middle of nowhere. The staff is super friendly and orders come extremely fast. Best of all, the prices are very reasonable. The staff really humps to get the orders out and clearly work well together. Parking lot is all ways packed but don't be fooled. Wait times are hardly ever more than 10 minutes or so. Never had a bad meal. Wish they were back home! read more

Unique to Rushville, IL. A jewel on the prairie. Las Charros provides great ambiance and most def not local food. We were starving for quality and you fed us. We most especially enjoy the tasty bottomless pit of macajete sauce and meats in the ancient looking cauldron. And best of all, Las Charros is able to accommodate large groups of loud out-of-town lawyers. Thanks for showing us a great time. read more

Average place. Good food and the place is clean, service is good. No complaints really. The chori pollo is good and the shredded chicken nachos are excellent. I was excited about finally being able to stop in here and order dinner after hearing such great things about it. Well what a sad disappointment I had!! Ordered carne asada nachos, HORRIBLE!!!!! Chips were soggy, not one piece of my steak was done and very red inside, I asked for the cheese to be left separate and didn't follow that either.
