    Birria tacos
    Adrienne C.

First and foremost, let me say that I have been to MANY a Mexican restaurant in my day. I've had tacos that were bland and unseasoned and I've had gourmet tacos that would knock your socks off. As someone who really loves birria in general, I was thrilled to find this place less than 2 miles from my new home! I had ordered from here a couple times using delivery apps, always having a great experience, but I wanted to wait until I made an in-person visit to do a review. This place was nice and clean and we were seated almost immediately. It wasn't overly crowded, but they were busy. Our server greeted us with chips and salsa and took our drink orders within minutes of sitting down. My mother and I both got the mango margaritas and my father got a beer, all of which came out fast and were delicious! My mother and I were twins once again and both ordered the birria tacos and my father got the steak fajitas. I'd already told both of them that I vouch for the birria, but my father is a creature of habit, although he did say after seeing them, he wishes he would have ordered what we got. His steak fajitas were delicious, but I think we made him jealous with all of our oohs and aahs over these tacos. The shells were good and crispy and they were stuffed with a ton of the most tender shredded beef you can imagine. The consommé and the salsa verde were just the cherries on top of a very delicious meal. I'm so glad we stopped in, and with this experience, I can confirm this will be a new regular stop for all of us!

I ate there for the first time about a week ago and I have NOT stopped thinking about this place. My family and I recently moved here from Los Angeles and I was afraid I wouldnt have great mexican food nearby. I WAS WRONG. The food here is fantastic and the service was perfect. I forgot exactly what I ordered but it was a wet burrito with shrimp, steak, and chorizo. Honestly, I'll probably end up trying everything on the menu :)

Hidden Jewel of Ashtabula, we went for early dinner on a Saturday night at 4:00 PM, and this place stayed packed. There was little to no wait, because they were well staffed and turned tables quickly. We ordered Margaritas, Negro Modelo by the pitcher (great deals), and cheese & chorizo dip (delicious). Our food was served promptly, and it was excellent - flavorful but not overly salted (we were actually trying to figure out the unique spices). Staff was friendly and worked as a team to make our meal enjoyable. Definitely gold standard restaurant, we will make a return visit when in town.

One of the best Mexican restaurants I've been too. The service was fast and friendly. The food was large and flavorful. Price is just right! I can't wait to go back. The kids loved it too, which is always a bonus.

Los Compadres Ashtabula Ohio If your hungerin for some decent tacos or tamales in NE Ohio, Los Compadres in Ashtabula can usually fit the bill. It may not be Pepe's Tacos in Puerto Vallarta, but its pretty doggone good food. We have been regulars here for about a year now and have never had a bad experience. In fact their Tamales are probably some of the best I've had outside of Mexico, and for me that's quite a statement. The one thing they do to the Tamale is cover it in meat sauce, which I really don't care for. I like my Tamales plain with a touch of pico de gallo! Our last visit, my wife and I shared the "Special Dinner for 2". As you can see from the pic's, it's the perfect arrangement for two people, and at $16.99 it's a pretty good deal. The platter includes, 1 Chalupa, 1 Tamale, 1 Burrito, 1 Chili Relleno, 1 Enchilada, and 2 Tacos. You can choose any meat "or not", if you don't ask they'll put taco meat on everything. Which is not a bad deal if your like taco meat. I prefer an assortment of Carnitas, Carne Asada, and Pollo. Delicious! Our waitress Jasmine, was courteous, and pleasant, she truly made our visit enjoyable. Although we have never been their and had a bad experience, she just has one of those personalities that you remember. It seems to be that in the NE US, Mexican food is always topped with a sauce or cheese. This I could kinda do without. I like traditional and simple! When we go again, I would definitely get the platter without the sauce or have it placed on the side. The fried ice cream was tasty and fresh, can ya ever have too much whipped cream? With a honey base and crispy fine ground crumble, its served in a bowl shaped tortilla and topped with a cherry, just the thing after a nice rich Mexican meal. We have not been to any other Los Campadres, and can only speak for the Ashtabula location. We enjoy the staff, we've never had a bad meal, and the establishment is always clean and organized. Warning, the drinks are strong and the margaritas will catch up to you right about desert time.... Oh YEAH! Have fun, and tell Jasmine don't be shy with the Tequila.

The food is amazing! One of the best Mexican restaurants I have been to in a long time

Great Mexican at reasonable prices!! Best Chile Rellenos I've had. Nice variation not being breaded and fried.

Was in town for a family gathering and decided to give this place a shot. First, I love that…read morethey're open late, it really saved the day! The inside of the restaurant was pretty cool and looked pretty authentic overall, but nothing too over the top (ie: I feel like the tables and chairs are something you'd find in an authentic Mexican restaurant in Mexico). They had a pretty sizable menu but decided on the taco flight and was pleasantly surprised! The chorizo was very good, the chicken was tender and the rest were just very well done. Also appreciated the cilantro and bits of onion on top, not too much to over power but enough to accentuate the taste. I will say the waiting staff was just ok in my opinion. I acknowledge that I came in later in the night but it felt like it was a bit of an annoyance walking in. It also took me a couple attempts to get the drink I ordered. I'd chalk it up to an off night and would definitely give this place another shot!

We sat down, party of 4. We all got waters and one coke and it was never refilled. We were asked…read morewhat we wanted for food, never came back to check on us in between the food hitting the table and then. The food was cold and tasted very bland. The server had an awful attitude and was very dismissive. I understand people have bad days. coming from someone who works in this industry I try to cut people some slack, but this was very obvious he could care less about having us in there. I was excited to try it and ended up not liking my food and a $90 tab for a waiter that had two interactions with us.
