Food was okay. Good for the price. My big ole' burrito was only $9 so if you only have some pocket change and need a decent serving of food, this could be a good option. I felt that the balance of rice, to everything else on my burrito was heavy and you couldn't even see the tostada shell under the lettuce. Some people want that, but it wasn't my personal preference. Stopped in here for a quick late lunch with a friend. Service was super friendly. They have put a lot into the ambience. It is very clean, bright, and spacious. I suspect that they do a pretty busy lunch business because even at 3:30 in the afternoon, it had a steady flow of customers. A mix of high school students and locals. I really wanted to try there pork chili Verde so I had two tacos with it and it was delicious. My friend had shredded beef enchiladas with rice and beans. I love it. They open at 7 AM and have breakfast options. I have been looking for someplace to get a good Mexican breakfast. Will have to come back and try it. read more

This is the place for lengua tacos. Everything is else is probably pretty good but I rarely get anything else. Oh the wet or "juicy" burritos are also tasty. They also have beer. The only downside is it's attached to the downtown Springfield bus station and so it shares restrooms with the bus station which is basically the same as saying it has no restrooms. Tacos are a little on the spendy side but also very big. There is shortage of good taquerias on this side of the river but this one stands out. read more

I've been a loyal customer for a long time. Within the last year their customer service has gone down hill big time. Great food but the service is horrible. Ordered a breakfast burrito. Waited 20 minutes while they served 2 customers who ordered after me. You can't call ahead because their phone is disconnected. I would suggest only going to Los Faroles if you have time to waste. I was given chicken nachos with guacamole. I didn't have time to go back. Today I stop by and the cashier said "today, yours is free because we messed up last week". She remembered me and my order. I have seen this place and driven by it a million times. But never stopped in until a friend took me there last week. Now I'm hooked! This place is super easy to overlook because it's at the Springfield bus station. My first thought was that a ton of people would just be loitering inside and taking up space. But that wasn't the case. I went with a friend who recommended the wet burritos. He had to order his without onions because of a severe food allergy. He's had plenty of places forget or disregard it, so he's a bit paranoid and reminds anyone taking his order of it a lot. Most places I've been with this friend tend to get annoyed with his paranoia and frequent questions/reminders of the food allergy. Here, they were super nice about it and understanding. The first time we went in together, we ordered the same thing and they had to double check who's was who's because of the allergy issue. They were very understanding and I appreciated that, especially from a first impression standpoint. The staff are always nice and the place is pretty clean. It's easy to forget you're sitting right next to a bus station. The food tastes great and portions are huge. I can't even begin to finish one of the burritos. I make it about halfway and the rest goes home with me. It isn't expensive for the quality and portions. Would I return? Definitely! This place used to be my favorite spot for breakfast burritos. I work down the street and my coworkers and I get breakfast about 2-3 times a week here. The problem with this place is that you only get a good burrito 1/3 of the time. They are extremely inconsistant and have employees that literally don't give a damn about customer service or the way they make their food. I can't tell you how many times I've had to throw away a breakfast burrito I took ONE bite out of because it was so bad. Some days they are the most delicious burrito I've ever had and then some days I don't even know what I ate. This morning I got one and was so excited to eat it. I took my first bite and saw A LOT of egg whites, thought that was weird, so I took another bite only to find out the eggs weren't even cooked and the yolk broke open inside the burrito and from there it was ruined. They didn't even scramble the eggs!!!!! LIKE WHAT!?! I can't even believe this place functions when it can't even make something as simple as a breakfast burrito. This was my first visit to Los Faroles Taqueria. I enjoyed the food but felt it was a bit over priced compared too some other taquerias I have been too. I ordered the Chicken Taco for $2.25 and the Chicken Sope for $3.00 The amount of chicken was abundant on the taco and was on top of 2 small corn tortillas. A bit of onion and cilantro was placed on top and a garnish of lime on the side. The taco was nice and warm. The salsa verde (green sauce) was the perfect combination of spiciness and warmth (I am a gringo about spicy food lol) I prefer a leaner shredded chicken over the boiled and chopped up kind. My only complaint about the chicken was that it had a few grisly patches. The Chicken Sope was topped chicken, beans, lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese blend and sour cream. The beans were AMAZING. My only complaint was that it was missing Queso Cotija (mexican cheese). Instead they opted to add shredded cheddar and mozzarella blend cheese. This totally threw the taste of the entire sope off. All in all it was a good meal. The ambiance was a little awkward at times. The Taqueria is in the Springfield Bus Station so you have a lot of different types of people coming and going and walking in and out. The large screen TV alternated playing muffled Spanish music and men talking loudly and abruptly. While the building offered a lot of seating space, it felt very confusing as to whether I was supposed to be enjoying a hispanic taqueria atmosphere or a trendy fusion restaurant. We were exhausted and starve when arrived at the Springfield station so we want to have a lunch really quick. We noticed this spot which is right next to the station. They have plenty of dishes for vegetarians but no combo plate. The cashier is a young lady who is patient an helpful. Since there's no veggie plate on the menu, she tried to build a new one with the lowest price, and she made it! My dish has rice, beans, tomatoes, onions, cheese, lettuce and guacamole and only costs $3.25! She also told me how to order this in a low price if I would come next time. 5 stars for her! read more

Food was yummy. Large portions at a great price. I ordered nachos with carne asada and they were perfect. The meat was tender and the chips were crispy even when I had to wait over two hours before the I could eat them ( waiting to eat with my husband who was busy at work). The best way to rate a Mexican restaurant is by how good the beans taste, and wow, this place is great, homemade and delicious. There's a very affordable daily special, like two fried tacos for $2 on Friday, but I like the Wednesday chicken burrito, roasted or grilled, with a drink for $5.50! And the green or red hot sauce is hot and flavorful. We also love their $3 flan, with whipped cream and a cherry, a real taste of Mexico. Plus, there's have a huge dining area they've emptied of chairs so socially distancing is super easy. Makes you feel like this company really cares about you AND their employees. read more

I've been here 4 times now and every experience has been positive. I moved up here from Los Angeles almost 2 years ago and one of the hardest adjustments was leaving the cheap, delicious, freshly made Mexican food we loved behind. Los Faroles is hands down the best Mexican food I've had in Eugene/Springfield since moving up here. They make almost everything to order and their salsas (red and green) are made fresh. To be clear, it's still not as good as what I used to have down in Southern California. This is likely due to overall less variety of produce that's not as insanely fresh as it is down south, and to the somewhat different tastes the general public has when it comes to bold and spicy flavors. Still, Los Faroles delivers very tasty food and their portions are so generous, I often have trouble finishing! A brief rundown on what I've had so far: 2 Item Combination Plate: I got a chile relleno and chicken taquitos, both of which tasted great. The taquitos in particular came with a generous helping guacamole (and the real stuff, not liquidy green avocado sauce). The rice and beans are full of flavor and can easily stand alone. 2 Item Combination Plate: I got a chicken tamale and a beef enchilada. Both tasted great, though the tamale masa was slightly dry. Excellent sauce on both, and the beans and rice tasted great again too. Wet Burrito: I got the carne asada filling. It was delicious, and I don't remember any gristle or tendon as I was eating which means they trim the meat really well and/or use high quality cuts of beef. Breakfast Burrito: Just had this for breakfast this morning and it was just what I wanted out of a breakfast burrito. Scrambled eggs, lots of potatoes, and I got mine with the chorizo meat filling. Add in the fresh green sauce and it was pretty much a perfect way to start the day. A word on customer service: Every time I come here, I am greeted with friendly smiles and prompt service. I've never waited more than 6 or 7 minutes for my food to come out. On one occasion, they offered my partner, who's lactose intolerant, extra avocado in lieu of sour cream on her taquitos. This morning when I got my breakfast burrito, I told them I had to catch my bus in 10 minutes and asked if there would be enough time to prepare my food. She told me 8 minutes and had it out in 6. I also heard her tell the cook I needed to be on a bus in 10 minutes. I really, really appreciate this kind of attention in food service. Bottom line: If you want inexpensive, delicious Mexican food delivered with friendly, attentive service, get yourself out to Los Faroles! read more

A nice taqueria conveniently located nearby the bus station and library. I ordered two different tacos and was immediately impressed by the waitress. She was able to take my order while juggling status updates on other food and switching over to Spanish to speak with her boss. She was very skilled. The tacos came with four delicious corn tortillas and was wonderfully plated with bright and fresh cilantro, onion, radish and two lime wedges. All the flavors worked so well together. Los Faroles is one of the cleanest taquerias you will ever visit. The food is reasonably priced, a big veggie burrito is just under $5 and a bean and cheese burrito will cost you $2.75. I've been caught more than once scoring a chicken tamal here for breakfast when I've skipped it at home. Again, nothing will probably be as cheap as Mi Tierra, but I need to remember that and move on. Los Faroles is located within the bus station in Springfield. You may be surprised but downtown Springfield has a number of good options when it comes to Mexican food including Memo's, Erica's and Las Morenas. Los Faroles is yet another reasonably priced, fast and tasty option for Mexican.
