Nice little place for the four of us at lunchtime, suggested by our Yuma locals. We ordered the #5 combo chili relleno, Senior chicken tacos, al pastore, and Senior beef tacos. The food was excellent and a repeatable experience. The chili relleno was made exactly as I think they should be--perfectly breaded, stuffed, and cooked to perfection. We are new to the Yuma area, asked some friends about GOOD Mexican food in the area & Los Manjares was quickly recommended. The server was quick, friendly & had excellent product knowledge. Hubby ordered the chicken enchiladas without cheese (dairy allergies) he absolutely loved it. The enchilada sauce had a mild spice that really tasted great. He even mixed some with his beans to spice them up just a little. I enjoyed the senior folded taco & tamale. Amazingly delicious! "Only problem" serving size was huge!! Visiting my parents last year and got a tip about a little Mexican restaurant that didn't look like much, but was very good. Stopped by and was rewarded with the best Mexican food I had ever had! The food was amazing and the service was good, but slow. I returned this year and was sure to revisit. I ordered a beef chimichanga and a side of refried beans and rice. Again, the portions were generous, the taste was amazing, and the prices were very good. Unfortunately, the service has gotten worse. But, it is clearly due to a lack of staff, which is entirely understandable. The service we did get was friendly and competent. They were just overwhelmed. I came in last week 1:20 in afternoon. No customers, I'm at counter waiting to order. The regular lady is there in kitchen talking to another woman. I state out loud, " is the cook in the house?". They did not acknowledge me. I have been going here since 2019. They always mess up my order. I will not be returning, to many better places to go to in town. It took me forever to find this restaurant in the parking lot, ha! So if you're like me and slow rolling looking for it, it's in the very back of the strip mall, on the side of the building, behind the primary care. That probably made things worse instead of better but hey, I tried. We stopped here for breakfast and I'm glad I did! The food was delicious. It didn't cost an arm and a leg. The woman that worked there was nice. Also, you get plenty of food! I ordered a breakfast burrito and ate just over half of it and was stuffed. I got a pancake for my son and he ate half and was full. We got the food to go and it took maybe 5 minutes total for our order to be ready. So fast! I'm a plain breakfast burrito kinda gal- just bacon and egg for me usually. And this one was so good and flavorful that I didn't need to add the salsa that I got to go with it. This is a weird review...been there twice and wanted to give it another shot. First, the cooks and the food are excellent...hats off to the chefs. However, the service is not welcoming. Both times, same lady and she acts like you are bothering her just being there! Don't ask for another beer or a refill...she'll rip your head off. Lastly, the tortilla chip's are excellent, but the salsa is very thin/watery and just doesn't represent well. Salsa is not lacking flavor, it has pathetic texture. The food here isn't consistent. Depending on who's cooking the food is either good or not. We ordered some carne asada burritos the other day and it was like 60% thick cut raw cabbage and 40% meat. I couldn't really taste the asada, I just tasted raw cabbage. I ended up with heart burn. If the guy cook is there the food is usually good. It's been like this for a while but I didn't realize how bad it could be until the other day. Honestly with other options opening in the foothills I'd think they'd want to step things up. read more

This place is my jam. The most authentic food I have had in Yuma. It's a small hole in the wall looking place behind the best western suites I think on S. Frontage Rd. Their food is excellent. I've never had anything from there that I didn't like. My only complaint is that they don't have Horchata all the time, it is my favorite. I also love the fruit juices like what you can buy at the Mexican flea markets. if you have any way of incorporating that into your restaurant, I would suggest it. This restaurant has two location, one as listed on the directions tab here in Yelp and another at 2187 W Eighth St, also in Yuma. This review is for the later address. The restaurant image is one in desperate need of cleaning and a coat of paint as the entire property is in need of repair. The dining area is currently comprised of two eating areas seating an estimated 30-40 patrons. The outside dining is currently closed due to covid issues. On ordering requested, lengua plate but they were out of stock. So I requested the rotisserie chicken and again same result. Ordered: Breakfast burrito consisting of egg, beans and cheese Side of rice and beans Barbacoa taco Chile relleno For take-out, ordered a large Red Menudo. As is traditional for true Mexican restaurants, the food was bland in general as expected not to be confused with the larger chain restaurant that lean more towards heavy seasonings and excessive salt. This is not a bad thing in any way. The star of the meal was the barbacoa taco. The meat was excellently flavored and tender. I chose flour tortilla but you can also have the corn if you prefer. The breakfast burrito was very bland (more than as described above, void of flavor). The flour tortilla was exceptional with a slight crisp on the outside. Eggs were on the dry side. The burrito was warm on delivery. The chile relleno was beautiful on presentment but was very disappointing in total. I assume that this was made previous day and then placed in a salamander or similar device to attempt to warm the relleno and melt the cheese on top. The inside of the relleno was still slightly cold, lacked any flavor in the chile itself and after one bite I set the plate aside. The server noticed this and said she would take it off the ticket but she did not do that. The menudo can be ordered either Red or White. As stated earlier, I ordered the Red. Meal came with cilantro, onion and lemon on the side and I was offered bread which I accepted. Surprised when I got home to eat this later and found the bread was in fact two dinner rolls sliced and toasted with butter when I had expected I was getting flour tortillas. The flavors of the menudo where excellent! Meal totaled $28.00 which when reviewing afterward from the Yelp images of the menu that the server didn't recommend she could combine my selection of the relleno, taco, and bean/rice to one of their combination plates which would have been a significant savings. Ordered two fountain drinks and from the 6 choices shown on the machine, only four were available. So I was extremely excited to find a restaurant close to me that served menudo as that was the specific purpose on choosing the location and for what appeared to be truly authentic Mexican recipes shown on the menu. The menudo and taco didn't disappoint but the remainder of the food and the overall impression of the restaurant was disappointing in total. Note that many of the reviews are posted from their sister location in the Yuma Foothills with many having a better experience as compared to mine. With so many other locations here in the Yuma area to try, I would suggest you try another business. read more

This is the best Mexican breakfast/ burrito place in town. If you are driving to Phoenix or San Diego this is just off the highway. If you don't like Mexican breakfast they have ham, bacon, steak, and sausage with eggs as well. The pepe special is my favorite. The eggs are cooked perfectly. The beans are creamy and it comes with potatoes. I love that they use a lettuce garnish with homemade pickled onions which I eat! If you you want a great experience have one of the hearty soups for breakfast. They may only be available on weekends. read more

This was my first lunch in Yuma and it did not disappoint! I did have to call and find out where exactly they were in the shopping plaza though haha. We walked in and walked up to the counter to order and were told to sit down anywhere we'd like and they would be right over. The inside is small but had a good vibe. She brought our drinks, chips and salsa out right away and took our order. We ordered soup, tacos and a taco salad. Everything was great! The soup was delicious and the tacos were also good, not as much flavor as I expected especially after how good the salsa was but still good! Okay, they're starting to get it right again here. My main concerns previously were that the service was inattentive, cleanliness was lacking, and the food, which I used to love, was becoming overcooked and sloppy. Yet I still ate here, because I kept hoping that it would change! The good news is, the food is back to previous standards. Service is improved too, but cleanliness is still an issue. As soon as we walked in one lady in front was very unwelcoming took a while to get menus as she was taking to back cook. She brought the chips and salsas as if she was serving animals. She charged me 70.19. So, I asked about the overcharge and she said they got a new system and she did not know how to fix it. So, she offered me another burrito..yeah cool but you still overcharged me. I had to leave due to timing so I guess this place got a $20 tip plus the tip my son left of $6. It was tough to find because it was so hidden. I ordered the cheese enchilada and beef tamale dinner. The Good: Food came out quick. Waiter was attentive (surprised they even have wait staff for such a small place) The enchilada and tamale were fine. Nothing special. The Bad: The rice was dry (obviously its the end of the day, but it was under cooked) Beans were obviously out of a can. Meal was microwaved and came out scorching hot. I would caution any prospective customer to beware, my wife ordered off the senior menu which provided selections for $10.50 on the menu. When I went to pay the bill was more than I expected so I asked why. I was told that the owners had changed the price in the computer but not on the menu and now the senior menu price is $11.50 ea. Feeling like is was being take advantage of I told the server Aida there were laws against this sort of thing and that I wanted to be charged the price on the menu as I can't give it back now.
