I ordered the Huevos Mexicanos, which translates to "Mexican eggs." It's basically scrambled eggs mixed with salsa, served with a side of black beans and a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice. Although very simple, the flavor was very delicious (I think they use some meat juices for cooking or something). I also ordered a cup of black coffee. If you are a coffee drinker, do yourself a favor and get it every time in Mexico. I normally don't drink coffee black, but I guess that's because I've been drinking the wrong coffee. :P The coffee was very smooth and smelled strongly of cinnamon. Delicious! We were offered free bread and tortillas with our meal. I didn't eat the tortillas because I was full, but the bread was that perfect, pillowy soft kind with a flaky shell. The bill was very affordable at around $6 per person. Gotta love the exchange rate!

There are two dining areas and a fascinating little store that sells tea, jewelry, designer clothes and in the hallway, beauty products (I think). Note: It is quite dark. I felt really old because I needed my phone light to read the menu, but our much younger waiter also had trouble seeing to process our credit card lol. Service was kind and professional. Tuscan food is unusual for us and we don't eat many of the ingredients, so our selections were a bit limited. Happily, we both found dishes that we enjoyed. My husband had chicken breast, which came with a salad snd sweet potato puree. The salad dressing was so light and lemony. I want to come back just for that. My white fish was Mediterranean in style and cooked in a sauce of cherry tomato, artichokes, olives and capers. It was delicious, but enough for two or three meals, so I took some home. Our meals came with herbed crisp breads and herb butter. They have a nice selection of teas and I absolutely loved the white tea with flower petals and lychee. Overall, a great find.

When we went cocktails were buy on get one free, which put it at normal CDMX pricing. Cocktails are made well here. As for food, we got beef carpaccio, grilled octopus, truffle fries, rib eye cap and bone marrow tacos. More than enough food for 4 people. We actually had left overs and ate it 2 days later at the airport and it was still delicious!! The rib eye was cooked to perfection. Ask for salt service and they bring out a variety of salt to try on your steak, not that it needed it, just fun to try. The octopus was delicious too. So tender. The bone marrow tacos were good but very rich. But the end of our rich meal, we were t able to finish it. They finished it off with some fresh hot churros for us. Great experience! Trying to go to Sonora Prime anytime I get a chance, luckily it's in all major Mexican City.

We had bites and drinks before our main dish. The margaritas were popping. I had never had "lengua". It was so tender the broth in which it was served really hi the spot. The ambiance is great, a lil noisy but we were there during happy hours, the service was great! Our severs were really At tentative. I even got a margarita on the house. Overall great service, good food. Their specialty is steaks and they don't disappoint. I didn't go with a steak this time, I am glad I decided to have the lengua. The gravy type sauce that goes with it is so full of flavor.

It's a relaxing environment perfect to unwind after a day of, say, walking and exploring the nearby Bosque de Chapultepec. Although many reviews here on a number of years old, they are very current in terms of the quality of the dining experience. I'm even surprised they don't have more reviews here, but IYKYK. Certainly the other diners would found their way here were tipped off somehow, because we overheard and met mostly Americans here -- though some locals, too. The drinks are great, and I'd recommend the Mezcalina Mango. It's tangy, a bit sweet and a bit strong which combined for a refreshing welcome. We also ordered a Sangria, I think, which won approval, too. The menu was via QR code, so I may be occasionally mistaken. However, our appetizer was definitely (I think) the chalupas. Three of each (chicken and pork), all in a verde sauce. I believe we had the chalupas de casa, as they came with the queso cotija. Regardless, very good and whet our ravenous appetites. That said, with the entrees and desserts that followed, I allllmost wish that we had saved room. Ah well. One of Angelopolitano's most famous dishes, Chile en nogada, is a total winner. Outstanding, hearty flavors bursting on top of each other. A few other tables ordered it, too, I saw. One lady who had an issue with everything she ordered (starting with her wine and its color) complained about the Chile en nogada. She was surprised by it, somehow. I was embarrassed and kind of surprised that she went off on the staff about it. Everyone else in the restaurant seemed to be loving it. Another signature entree we loved into was the Mole champandungo. Heavenly, and just enough smokiness to it to keep your tastebuds hopping. Between these two entrees, we certainly didn't need the appetizer --- or the desserts, but onward we pressed! Tequila Flan and Mexican Tiramisu. I found both of these good. I did really like the Flan, but thought the Tequila was overkill. (There is a Coco version, which I'd try instead next time). The Mexican Tiramisu was reminiscent of the famous Italian dessert, sort of. Good sweet and coffee flavors swirling about in a slightly gooey, mini casserole pot. Overall, I am a big fan of Angelopolitano. Thrilled we found it, thought service was very good, loved the food, and the comfy, esthetically pleasing interior. Would love to keep exploring their menu -- there is so much here!
