Being American, I grew up eating a good amount of Mexican food (granted, American-Mexican). Since moving to Brussels, I've only tried Chi-Chis, which in my opinion, is a poor excuse for Mexican food! So when a friend told me about this place, I couldn't wait to try it!
Located off of Louise, nice location (for me as I live not so far from this resto) but further from the center. Restaurant is definitely more upscale, not the usual kitchy restaurant decor I encounter at almost every Mexican place back in the US. To get down to business: the food was excellent! Just what I was hoping for! When you are in groups, I definitely recommend getting the Ponchitos, where you each get to eat a taco, fajita, quesadilla and burrito along with some great salas/sauces. If you like a kick make sure to try the hot sauce they give you in a tiny bowl (beware, that stuff is hot!). They can make this in a vegetarian version as well (thanks!), after eating all this I really was stuffed....now, price-wise, this was definitely more expensive than I'm used to paying (for wine and the ponchitos it came out to 35eur pp). They do give a bit of free bread with some salsa, but I was hoping for some tortilla chips with some salsa...the guacamole and chips was a bit pricey (8 eur) for a starter.
Definitely worth a try if you like Mexican, I know I'll be back! read more
