Very disappointing. Came in here after checking out different restaurants in the area. Being Cuban,…read moreI was quite excited once I saw the menu. They had a good selection of foods and a kids menu. I was looking forward to having my friends try a little different cuisine. Walked in, plenty of spaces in the first floor (didn't even look in the second floor but I'm sure they also had space up there). However, our group of 9 people was turned away and we were told we couldn't be seated because "there was no space". I mean, I could clearly see several empty tables. Weather was bad, we had kids in tow, and after a busy day we were ready to eat some good food and head back home. It's a shame we couldn't do it here. Gladly though, I was able to find a nice Italian restaurant right around the corner with great food, amazing service and as accommodating as they could (consider they were indeed quite packed, very unlike Cafe Latino).

Nachos with some spiced up minced meat and little tomato cubes. Very tasty! Main dish I had some beef fajitas, not the best I ever had and they weren't served as most Mexican restaurants do, sizzling in a cast iron pan. More or less OK The service on the other hand was bad, the waiters were particularly unfriendly and slow. The ten euro mojito, came with little alcohol and lots of crushed ice. I'm giving this restaurant the benefit of the doubt, maybe they just had a bad day. But the fact that it's pricey remains unchanged.

This has to be one of the cutest bars I've ever come across and the interior is unlike no other. The maximum seating inside is probably about 20 folks but they have a few tables outside for you to enjoy a few drinks. What stood out to me was discovering Plumette is also owned by the folks behind the coffee shop next door, Lazy Bear. The mixture of velvet, dark woods, dried flowers, and hues of glamour had me in awe. With a corner bar fully prepped to make some of the best cocktails you've ever had are just a mere order away. Plumette offered some of the best drinks I've ever had. If you're looking for a signature cocktail they proudly serve a drink called The Plantation. A few ingredients within the cocktail were amber rum, marula, lime juice, pineapple juice emulsion, peruvian bittern, and free coffee seeds. We ended up here for two rounds of cocktails and it was a lovely experience.

I was a bit surprised that it seemed like a pizza pub, which is just strange in Brussels. Still, I got the porc filet on the waiter's recommendation and it was really, really good. Tenter and a bit crispy on the outside, but juicy and not at all gristly. My colleague got the entrecôte, which wasn't quite as good and a bit too fatty, but still not bad. The Belgian beer selection wasn't super-broad, but didn't disappoint and we certainly enjoyed it. More so because we could split beers. We got a Chimay Blue in a bottle, Westmalle dubbel and tripel on tap and a few other things. Beyond the food being a bit odd (I would have expected mussels and frites), the only downside was that the outdoor table was surrounded by smokers. Something I'd mostly forgotten was a thing.
