Food was not worth it I ordered Barbacoa Burrito got some kind of shredded meat like chicken or pork with a sauce like buffalo sauce and cream cheese enchilada cold. there are better place that serve food that doesn't look or taste like road kill. the drink was good and the Jalapeno. read more

What a joke of a place. How does anyone call this Mexican food. My fajita plate was 16$ and came with watery slop and only two tortillas, the salsa is basically just crushed tomatoes with maybe a jalapeño and it was maybe a tablespoon worth , and the owner or manager was very rude and unapologetic about how terrible our order was. This restaurant, like most of West Rome, is rotting. There is little to say except that better value can be found in much cleaner Mexican restaurants elsewhere in Rome. Though the restaurant was very slow and fully staffed, there were several tables still needing clean up including the one where I was sat. None of those tables were bussed during the whole time I was there. The Loco Rice, unlike some other places, is nothing more than plain white rice drowning in too much "queso." The chips are brittle and taste odd. The unsweetened tea is okay, but the sweetened refill is just sugar water on its way to making rock candy. The wait staff seemed more concerned with socializing than attending to the few tables in this (justly) empty dining room. My waitress couldn't be bothered to remember UN-sweet tea for the ten steps to the drink station, because she was too busy flirting with another waiter. This place needs to follow suit with the rest of rotten forgotten West Rome. Close the doors and fade away. read more

Not the cleanest of places. The food is hardly anything special. They do offer good deals for lunch, but for the sickness you will feel afterward is not worth it at all. I normally feel like I am getting food poisoning each time I've tried to visit this place over the past few years. It's not a pleasant experience so I could not recommend this place to anyone. The service was friendly and fairly fast. The food was your average Ted-Mex style fair. It was ok. Not good, but not bad. The refried beans were the best part of my meal. The drinks were fairly large which is awesome for a hot day. read more

If I had the option to not give any stars that would be my choice!! I ordered a frozen margarita when I got it the glass was half full of foam and was liquid like a margarita on the rocks would be the waitress said the frozen machine was messed up and that she would bring me back the rest of the drink she never did! My daughters food was missing things from it and when we asked the guy that brought the food out about it he said he had no idea it wasn't his job or that we must have ordered it without those things ! When the waitress came back she was like I'm pretty sure that it comes with said missing items but she never brought them back! The bill was over $70 and it was a horrible experience we will not be back!! read more

Can't ever place an order, phones always busy, never open when the hours say, tried to walk in and the doors were locked even though it still said two hours till close. Who knows if the foods good cause you can't ever get any, been trying for a year. read more

Very good food, but the same could be said for most of the Mexican restaurants in Rome. What sets this one apart, in my opinion, is the friendly and attentive staff. Also, this place scores consistently in the high 90s on their Health inspections, which is certainly not common. On my most recent trip, I got the taco salad supreme with beef, which was delicious, and accompanied by the biggest White Russian I have ever received at a restaurant. read more

My family and I tried going to the Los Portales Mexican Restaurant (located at 2439 Shorter Avenue Rome, GA 30165) to eat last night a few minutes after 9:00 PM (they don't close until 10:00 on Saturdays). As soon as we walked to the door an employee turned the "OPEN" sign around to "CLOSED" and immediately turned around and walk away from us. I opened the door and asked him if they were open and he said "No, we're closing early tonight." I asked why and he rudely replied "We just are." Everything he said to me was in a rude, non-caring tone. This is not how you run a business. If you want to close early, the hours on the door should be changed. At the very least have the decency to tell us when you see us walking up that, for whatever reason, you have to close the restaurant earlier than expected tonight instead of slamming the "CLOSED" sign in our face and being rude to us. I will never go back to this restaurant and I will encourage anyone I know not to either. I have never been treated that way by a business. There are many other restaurants in Rome that we have been to - all of which have always treated us with respect and courtesy. read more

Really good Mexican food. It is out in West Rome near Alabama Hwy so is a short drive. No outdoor dining

We arrived 10 minutes before closing and they were still friendly and we had very good service. The manager overheard us talking about eating quickly due to closing time. He stopped and told us to please take our time and enjoy the meal. The food was very good and the price was a good deal. We travel though this town to meet relatives periodically. This was the second time we ate here and both times were great. We will make this stop a habit. read more
