This is unlike any Mexican restaurant I have visited and I lived in AZ and visited Mexico frequently. First, I ordere chile rellenos. What came out was a Hamburger pot pie with no chile rellenos on the plate. I had a taco with it that was plain beef; no taco seasoning. I think they are counting on their customers not knowing the difference. My partner ordered rice that was supposed to be Mexican rice, which uses Tomato juices to flavor. These were Uncle Ben's rice that were served. They are tricking the customers into buying fake food. If you want to live and work in this country, please stop lying to customers. And let's not forget about the Coke, which was something else like a Shasta cola. With that said, the waitress was excellent. Chips were out of a bag and fried. Salsa was not homemade and lacked flavor. Please use this review to straighten out your mess. read more

Tacos were really good. Sauce was too spicy for me but I have acid reflux. Got the red velvet cheesecake and babe there is too tooo too much dye in it. Tongue was bright red like from a lollipop and I ate 1/8 of the slice. But the tacos were worth the visit. read more

We went to las palmas and the food was good our waiter was very nice and helpful it was just a bad environmental situation. Kids were running around and there was this clown there that I won't lie was terrifying to look at and it made my lady very uncomfortable to eat and he made balloon swords and dogs for the kids the kids were running around smacking strangers with them and it was a overwhelming experience read more

This is hands down our favorite place to go eat! The food is fantastic, service is on point and friendly! Doesn't matter where we go, even out of town, this is 100% the go to place. Friday dinner, this place is happening. Pretty packed but didn't have to wait too long. Live festive music was a bonus. The waitress didn't let the chip bowl gone empty and the salsa just kept coming too. I had the 6 mini street tacos. They were great. Just a tack too salty (but I am on a low sodium diet). I have never been to a restaurant that has better chips & salsa than Las Palmas. I have eaten here off and on over the years and I honestly believe that this chain is the best Mexican Restaurant in the businesss. I like the fact they give each person a salsa bowl as well, as I like to put salt in my salsa while my girlfriend does not. My only suggestion for improvement, would be that it would be cool if they included cilantro in their salsa like the chain in Cartersville, GA does. read more

My favorite Tex-Mex restaurant not just in Rome. I haven't ate at one that can compare. Though they do need to lighten up on the price of sodas. $2.45 is the price of 2 2 liters of soda from the grocery store, shouldn't be the price of a single glass. The Quesadilla Texana is great. read more

We had someone recommend checking out Las Palmas when we mentioned that we were in the mood for Mexican food. There was nothing terribly wrong with our meals. Everything was just very mediocre. The prices are very reasonable, but there's nothing amazing about the food. We got the cheese dip based on the other Yelp review and we were far from impressed. I ordered a TO-GO chimichanga and was excited to eat it when I get home! However, I'm not sure why but the chimichanga was not fried like I thought it would be. This restaurant has some fantastic chips, salsa, and cheese dip. It's why we've headed over to Las Palmas. I'm not willing to give a restaurant a poor review when the food is good and service is normally okay, however, if you go to Las Palmas and your server is Angelica, go find another table. 75% of the orders were taken incorrectly and the attitude we received from her when the food came out and we realized it was wrong was appalling. We've worked in restaurants; we know things happen and that's understandable but giving an attitude and behaving unprofessionally draws a line. Bad management decisions! Ordered the Wednesday special fajitas for lunch today. The waiter asked I wanted chicken or steak. I immediately asked if steak could be ordered with the lunch special that included the drink also. He immediately said yes. I have 2 witnesses at the table who heard the question and answer. When the bill arrived, I was charged $6.01 more than the $5.99 lunch special. When I asked the waiter about it all he could say was I'm sorry and it can't be changed once it is on the table. I gave him my card to pay, but then reconsidered and asked to speak with the manager. When I explained what had happened to the manager, he was even less helpful than the waiter was. He acted as if it could not be changed to what I really thought I was ordering. HELLO! The waiter had approved the steak, leading me to believe the price was the same as the chicken until the bill arrived and I caught the erroneous charge. The manager said he could not do anything about it also. He even went so far as to try to put the blame on me for not reading the menu properly. He even asked me if I had eaten it. Of course, I did. We were paying our bill. SO NO CAN DO ANYTHING, MY FAULT, NOT HIS OR THE WAITER'S FAULT. I was meeting with my sister that I had not seen in about 2 years, needless to say, ruined my day. When you live on a low fixed income, every penny counts. If a manager cannot address problems when they come up and do nothing to resolve them, then they should not be in management. I told him I would never come there again and would also publicize the very rude treatment I had received. I was just made to feel like all my fault. This is not how business is done or should be done in America! SHAME ON THEM! read more

I love eating at Las Palmas, especially their spinach quesadillas and their chips are amazing! The only con is that it is packed during dinner, near dinner, or when people might be thinking about dinner. It's great for large and small groups. read more

Okay I hate to admit- I didn't realize there were two locations in town and the review below was meant for the riverside pky location. Ate at this location three days ago and it was mediocre at best. Chile rellenos were bad. Instead of the meaty, cheesy rellenos served at the other location, these rellenos seemed to be filled with nothing but a runny sauce. The service was pretty good but the food was not. For a great meal with sometimes slow service, try the other location on the parkway. read more

I go to Shorter University and this place is amazing! It's right near school so I go all the time. I always order two soft chicken tacos with a side of cheese dip. Their dip is heavenly, and so worth the $4. Im going to miss it very much when I move... My friends usually order the Loco rice and the quesadilla's try those too! :) read more
