I was raised in Jalisco, so that's where I went. It takes courage to open a new and smaller business next door to a larger competitor! If the larger competitor is the one who opened a new location next door to the smaller mom and pop shop, then it could be considered bullying. Either way, I chose Taqueria Jalisco. The ambience is clean, pleasant, and bright, good even for families and small groups. I was surprised to discover they have table service. I was welcomed, allowed to choose a table, provided a menu and a quick explanation of drink options. They also brought out some complimentary charro beans, chips and salsa. The salsas were mild but tasty. The chips were thin American corn chip style. The charro beans were excellent, with great flavor. I appreciated the fact the beans did not have large chunks of pig skin /fat floating in them like many other places in town. These were delicious. I chose a Sprite and ordered the tacos de bistec, and added avocado and cheese at an additional cost. My meal was served promptly and it both looked and tasted great, a bit salty, but I like that. The staff and owner were present, helpful and friendly, despite the fact I was there late and the last customer after a long day. I enjoyed Taqueria Jalisco and, if you like Mexican food, I think you will too.

The people were friendly but the service was a bit slow, my friend ordered the pancake platter to eat there, and it was the last thing to come to the tables she got her bacon 5 minutes after the platter and had to ask for it to go. Clients seemed to liked the chorizo & egg tacos, and chilaquiles tacos. If you the chorizo & eggs tacos, ask them to put them in a plastic bag, mine weren't and the bag was wet. They fixed it but if I hadn't sat down at a table with my friend my car would've been a mess. Feels more like a place to go after a night of drinking. There are free chips and a salsa bar!

If you know me I like tacos and I love things to be quick so express caught my attention! I got down and it was empty inside. The single waitress was mopping the floors and listening to the radio, but she turned the radio down and greeted me with joy. She was super nice and welcoming. She only spoke Spanish and I thought like no worries I can do this, because I can understand but can't speak it. Well that didn't go too well... She gave me a menu and left me to decide for a while (which I asked for) and she came back at the right time so I could order. We tried to communicate and I thought it went really well! I ordered 3 Asada tacos on flour with nothing on them (usually they put cilantro, onions, lime, and so on) and 2 cheese enchiladas with 1 apple soda. She insisted that I get the toppings for the taco on the side from what I understood of our convo it was because it came with it already and it's worth it. So I said that's fine on the side is great. I saw down at one of the dining tables in the empty restaurant. She called me up a about 20-30 mins later (which in my mind wasn't express, but I realized this is an actual sit down restaurant and not like your grab and go quick tacos establishment.... This is what hurt me which was my total.... She rang me up and the total popped up and I gave her my card to pay. The total came out to $67.54 for the small amount of food I got... she was so nice so I tipped and went on my way and ate the cost up. I got to my car and did the normal thing of unloading everything in my car and found a nice cozy parking lot to park in while I ate. I started to notice that there were a ton of things wrapped in foil and I wondered what It could be. I thought maybe I ordered a burrito instead of tacos or something. A ball wrapped in foil really confused me, but I opened it up and it was a lime (cut in half luckily!)! Then I unwrapped what seemed to be parchment paper wrapped like a ball with the extra parchment paper twisted at the top and it ended up being a ton of cilantro! Which got me wondering why so much cilantro? A big cup of onions and a ton of salsa. The enchiladas were normal, double bean and two of them. Then I open the big package that I thought was the incorrect burrito.... I open it and I broke out laughing because I was like what in the world did I do... it was not 1, but SIX (6) flour TACOS... and guess what there were 1 pack of 6 tacos no there was THREE (3) like the 3 à la carte tacos I ordered. Turns out my confidence for understanding Spanish was way more talk the talk than walk the walk. I think something got lost in translation and I ended up ordering 18 asada on flour tortilla tacos LOL. Now the food: Enchiladas were okay the temperature was honestly like they were sitting there for a while. The beans I didn't try because they seemed a bit stale. The tacos were actually decent, but like I said in a recent review at another establishment since I get my taco plain they tend to be dry and these were a bit dry. The tortillas were actually really really good. The grilled onions which I only eat if they are cooked correctly were nice and grilled. So I threw them on top and that solved the issue. The apple Joya soda I mean you can't go wrong with that! Overall, the service delisted the language barrier was amazing. The food was decent but could be better. The extra side items they provide for your food were not spared. A lot of salsa and options, crackers, limes, cilantro, onions, napkins salt, and pepper. But again I ended up ordering for a whole family. Would I go back? Probably not. Was it good to try a new place? Yes, as it always is! I didn't get an itemized recipet which will be a bit hard for my expenses, but that means I can't provide exact costs as well. The Bread was toasted just right which gave them that crunchy bite with a soft inside. The salsas were also very good and they have 3 types available. Good thing is you can either sit down or drive up and have them go to your vehicle. The food is also priced fairly. I will go back just to try other things in the menu
