I had a dislocated hip ten days post total hip replacement surgery, which is considered a medical emergency. He performed a manual reduction and my X-ray confirmed perfect replacement of my hip prosthetic. He was so reassuring with me, saying, "This isn't my first rodeo, you are in excellent hands". As a mater of legal compliance, they disregard any perception of freedom or right that you might imagine regarding your very own body and to make choices to endure or forgoe invasive, harmfull or unwanted procedures or drugs. I called 911 specifficly because my dear one (adult blood relative) was experiencing life threatning low body temperature 10° below normal (thermal disregulation), after she was already recieved from the ambulance for more than one hour,,, i myself arrived and inquired as to her body temp on arrival and now, the ER physician and assisting nurse proceded to say simply "we couldnt get a reading", I realized and feared these people dont want to help an 80 year old woman and they did not even administer "First Aid" what is first aid, every boy scout with or without Merit badge knows, blankets, get them warmer. The physician indicated they wanted to do CT scans and xrays, i informed my still conscious mother and she said NO, while still not having been given first aid. Now as her legaly designated P O A (person of authority) i reiterated and gave further instructions as to what are my mothers wishes in this circumstance. They had me removed and treaspassed from the property, then subjected my mother to massive doses of multiple (16) xray treatment sessions, They are a teaching hospital, clearly they forcibly deemed my mother a good project to demonstrate various things to their student physicians,,, After 2 weeks i was able By the grace of God able to get yer away from that horror house,, they dosed her with at least 2 mind altering drugs and tried to imply and alter my families perception of her actual mental capacity to make her own choices. The doctors even perjured theimselves and wrote false narative of events saying that "the son had to be removed and APS was notified and he was arrested" The only abuse that took place was during her being imprisoned against her will at that hospital. I was not arrested at all. Yet they put this falsehood into her medical record. Thats all the short version of what occoured,, we have evidence to support all that i refer to here. Right now just focused on the recovery from being abused and not being treated acording to medical standards or legal ethical standards. Treatment and care of person is unremarkable. I've never seen anyone give someone drugs against their will. I said no to steroids when I first got there I was talking of an end of life plan to where I would not have to take steroids ever again with all of my doctors except for these people, they were clueless, but still when I say no to a blood gas, they didn't do that at least But they did give me a steroids without my permission. I believe this is called medical mail practice they want to go ahead and bill me. I will turn around and build them by calling every attorney in the world until I can find a place where I will end up owning themhorrible horrible shame on you Very important my insurance says that they're supposed to collect $150. This review is only reflecting my experience with the sharps disposal program here. I have absolutely no idea why it's so difficult to find a good sharps disposal in LA County. It really is like pulling teeth because spots are either too busy or they're at max capacity for sharps. Ugh. Anyhow, it is always a pleasant and rather quick experience here. I use an injectable medication and I fill up sharps containers quicker than I realize sometimes. Anyhow, I enjoy making the drive up here because this is a clean facility with no hassle. If you need to dispose of your sharps, go to the lab on your left and mention that that's what you're here for. And if you need extra containers, they are mighty generous (I went home with three). The emergency room it's horrible. My blood pressure was over 200. I was doubled over in pain from my stomach. They made me sit for an hour in the hallway before being seen. finally started IV and gave me some pain med. They put me back in the hallway sitting down with the IV. The pain meds wore off. I was there for 5 1/2 hours. My wife was asking continuously for the doctor for some more pain meds. It never happened. During discharge they prescribed one medication for my stomach and no pain meds. I asked for pain meds he said so you want narcotics I said I need something for pain. He gave me a low dose prescription of Norco never dated it. I wasn't able to fill it. horrible doctor horrible time but we're effing stuck. It's the only emergency in Thousand Oaks. read more

This time it was my turn in the ER and it was no different than with my parents. This is a teaching hospital and most of the students/residents are C students at best. As someone with a doctorate as well, I know what base level of critical thinking skills an MD should have. I was dressed like a professor and yet they still treated me like I was an idiot. Actually, maybe they felt threatened knowing that I would see right through their charade. I came in with severe vomiting and I knew it was from a medication I was taking. I wanted to make sure it wasn't pancreatitis as that was a side effect of the medication. My heart rate was a little high from vomiting, not eating and also from an ADHD stimulant. The nurse looking at my heart rate said "ADHD stimulants do not affect heart rate." Are you for real? So they gave me an EKG. The first doctor said it was fine and he wasn't sure why they were holding me. Next a group of 5 somber and patronizing looking doctor/residents approached and said that my EKG was "alarming" and that I had just had a heart attack. I looked at him straight in the eyes and said "No, I didn't. I've been vomiting, that's why everything looks screwed up." Another doctor glared at me and asked me "Do you know how you got diabetes?" with a mocking look on his face. I responded "I sat on the same toilet seat as someone with diabetes." Another kept questioning my medications and why I was taking them. They didn't have the knowledge or critical thinking ability to understand that medications are used for different things including off-label use. Speaking of which, I had to go without one medication for three days because nobody could "find it in the system." Five of the doctors did not know what Rybelsus is. 2 of those 5 didn't know what Semaglutide is and what it's used for. That is disqualifying in my eyes. I easily met 30 different doctor/residents during my time in the ER. Every. single. one. asked the same damn thing over and over and said the same damn thing as the others over and over... right in front of each other! Some of them were fighting with other residents for who got to speak first. It was pathetic. Every resident/doctor in the ER was somber, angry, unsupportive, patronizing and egotistical. They set me off, and I was extremely furious and wasn't taking it from these clowns. I've never spoken to professionals the way that I spoke to these people. Their lack of bedside manner, lack of knowledge and lack of critical thinking skills did not warrant my respect. I was "diagnosed" with the following, by the staff using their Fisher Price doctor kit: - sepsis (nope) - heart attack (nope) - diabetic ketoacedosis (nope) - bad reaction to medication (that's the one!) I was stuck in that hell hole for THREE DAYS to do a series of tests on my heart, ALL of which came back normal. And the kicker? They never even admitted me! So now I am on the hook for "observation" rather than my insurance paying the bill for being admitted. The financial "counselor" offered me a 20% discount if I pay now! What is this? A used car lot? **This entire thing was an insurance scam** and I knew it from the second the residents/doctors overrode the other resident/doctor who said there was nothing wrong with my EKG. Boy is Los Robles already teaching these students to extort money from insurance companies. Good on them I guess. The care in the hospital itself was quite good. Shoutout to Susan/Susie who was a great nurse. There was also one female resident that was amazing and I unfortunately don't know her name. Dr Mehdi was also good. This has got to be the most ridiculously insufficient Hospital I have ever been subjected to! Diagnosed, the PCP sent records and called ahead to admit. MRI imaging sent for an emergency issue and 7 hours later still sitting with my wife waiting for these people to get the isht together! All I can tell you is the Nurses are beat down and overwhelmed. 2 of them in an ER is Crazy. People suffer as Hospital Administrators pocket extraordinary profits on the backs of Staff and Patients. As we sit here being lied to about the timeframe my wife in pain I am literally ready to smack the .... Out of someone but again understaffed and overwhelmed how can I fault the people working there asses off! This place really sucks!!! read more

Emergency C section due to baby's heart rate decelerations. I was berated by Dr Thein the anesthesiologist, with a multitude of witnesses. Cussing, yelling, acting frantic and erratic. It began when I didn't want a resident to place my epidural (prior to being told I'd have an emergency c section) there were several aggressive comments made to me by him shamelessly in front of an audience like he could get away with anything. During my surgery prep he failed to place the local anesthesia 4 times before getting it right with a smaller needle at the request of my OB. The post op team bandaged me up so tightly that when the nurses removed the surgical tape it took skin with it. The photos attached show the tape wounds and the failed anesthesia pokes. The hospital offered their support after the fact through some sort of make shift therapy talk session or their "customer grievance line". Absolutely horrific experience saved only by a healthy baby and very kind mother baby nurses. read more

I've been back to La Robles now with my mother-in-law who was headed toward a heart attack and the staff there was absolutely wonderful. The cardiologist, Dr. Chattery I think his name was and everybody else that worked with him was fantastic and gave my mother-in-law amazing attention. I've never seen so many doctors waiting around to help someone. They were patient. Listened to her and she's a stroke victim so she's a little hard to understand. The ER was great, the Cath Lab was great and getting her up settled into a room in North tower was great all of her caregivers and nurses were fantastic. There was one gentleman one individual and I can't remember his name but he remembered her from her first trip there and people in the in the ER also remembered her and that was really cool because I have a season pass to Las Robles having older Parents. I expect to be back very soon for my own mother and I appreciate everything that los Robles has done in our lives. read more

I had the misfortune of getting my leg injured and needed surgery. One of my doctors was dr hoberman. I told him i was a christian and i would appreciate a prayer especially since charlie kirk was recently murdered. He told me he couldnt help with my prayer and that he was happy that charlie kirk got the death he deserved. I wanted to walk away immediately but i couldnt. This is regarding the ER. I was there with my 68-year-old aunt on Monday. The nursing staff was excellent, and I have no complaints about them. My concern is with the facility itself. The emergency room was overcrowded, with patients packed in like sardines, even on gurneys in the hallway. I was shocked. If Los Robles lacks the necessary capacity, they should consider rerouting ambulances. It took over 24 hours for my aunt to get a room but once in her room she had a lovely view. I do have a complaint about one nurse. When I expressed a concern about an issue my aunt was facing, the nurse had the audacity to roll her eyes at me. If I had the bandwidth, I would have certainly made my disappointment known. read more

The hospital itself is kind of a nightmare, but all of the nurses, doctors, technicians, etc. are genuinely caring and just good people. They are not people who are just there to make money and go home. I came here last year for a severe UTI. Yes, that's typically just an urgent care visit but this one hit hard and fast. By 3 AM, I was in the bathroom every five minutes. Anyway, I arrived by 4 AM and was in and out very quickly. Surprisingly, on a Friday in the middle of the night it was not busy. Unfortunately (not their fault), the antibiotics didn't help and my pain worsened immensely. I went back in and they were quick to start me on IV antibiotics and switched my at-home antibiotic. Within hours after receiving IV antibiotics, I felt like a brand new person. Anybody who has suffered from a UTI knows how amazing it feels when you go to the bathroom and don't feel that awful burning anymore. I was here again last night due to a very erratic (low and high) heart rate and some other issues. It was very, very packed and everyone was waiting for a long time. I feel like their system could be improved a lot, but who knows how that would be accomplished. Dr. Thandi was extremely thorough and covered all the bases. He did a full cardiac work up, lab work, and a CT scan to ensure I didn't have a pulmonary embolism. I greatly appreciated how seriously he took me, because as a young woman, any medical issue is quickly thought to be anxiety. He warned me about the radiation from a CT scan, but went forward with it due to some of my lab results. I ended up being okay, but I do have COVID which really affected my heart. read more

I went into the Los Robles ER on July 30, 2025 with acute pain from a sudden injury to one of my ribs. After a short wait, I spoke with a pleasant Intake Nurse, then saw Dr Helena Horak MD, who spoke with me about my injury and ordered imaging to determinie if I had any fractures. She saw that I had a severe contusion, ordrered medication, and discharged me. I was in and out of the ER quickly and with full satisfaction that I had recieved personalized care and a proper diagnosis. Several days later, I am feeling much better. Dear Los Robles Hospital, This is regarding your ER services. Thousand Oaks is a growing Community. There was not adequate room for the influx of patients seeking ER services when I was there! i was suffering a serious allergic reaction to a prescribed drug causing a blood pressure reading of 214/108! Yet somehow the intake nurses surmised I was suffering from "anxiety". This because it was so crowded that nobody actually had the time to actually listen to me and my symptoms of high blood pressure, low potassium, palpitations, tremors, low blood sugar, nausea, dizzy spells - symptoms from the allergic reaction. I could barely stay upright in my chair, one of dozens lined up along a spare hallway- it was overflow from the waiting room. No rooms were ever available. The only person I saw get a room was someone who literally passed out. I was there almost 6 hours with crisis level Blood Pressure untreated! My blood pressure was only checked once the whole time, (and when i was released- it was not even rechecked first before okaying me to go!) At some point I was ordered a medicine to calm my Blood Pressure spikes, but it took two hours to get it after I reminded a random nurse walking by that I had not been given it yet! I was finally released, so heavily sedated that i could not see straight and hardly able to walk a straight line. They did not check to see if I even had a ride after the sedating drugs, and just said you may go. I walked out into the parking lot, tripping and fumbling with my phone to place a phone call to someone for a ride. I couldn't find a place to sit outside the ER- there are no benches. I found a place to sit farther away next to the entrance to the underground garage. I Sat there alone waiting, seeing double, unassisted, droopy eyed and confused until my ride found me. I've read other reviews here about Los Robles Hospitals ER Department referencing their experience to a third world country- I agree.M read more

This is my 2nd time being admitted to Los Robles ER/Hospital in a year. In my last review I gave 5 stars. Today I gave them 5 stars. They are excellent all around. From the Er where amazing and kind people (too many to name) to. the actually being admitted to the hospital EVERYONE was amazing and kind as well like the ER. I recently returned for cardiac imaging 8 weeks after a cardiac procedure in AUG. The caregivers in the HUBERT CARDILOGY Center are exemplary. They moved with the accuracy and precision of an ensemble orchestra. I fly from two states away to get the world-class care I receive here. I am not disappointed. They even gave me beverage and Tuna Sandwich free before discharge. Finally, they expedited my treatment so I could catch my early evening flight back home. I had the best care when I had to stay at Los Robles! My nurses -- Josh and Neda -- went out of their way to care for me. Josh tried to figure out a way to get my prescription med not commonly available. Neda got me things she thought I may need. I never even asked her for them. Dara in Nuclear Medicine is wonderful. If she didn't have a patient scheduled right after me, she brought me back to my room when Transport wasn't available. Transport often isn't available! When Dara couldn't bring me back, Roberto who works the evening shift in Pharmacy, brought me back to my room. He saw me waiting for Transport for about 45 minutes and took pity on me. Patients and Los Robles are lucky to have these people who are so dedicated to patient care. read more

I had to go for my second round of Rabies shots. Richard Gajardo admitted me to the ER. What a pleasant and helpful man! He went to the pharmacy himself to get my medication. As a result, I was in and out in under 30 minutes. I wish there were more people like him! read more

Took my mother to Los Robles Hospital to have a microsurgery 30 minutes long, to improve a recent stroke that unfortunately occurred a couple months earlier. After surgery she was almost comatose. Dr. said it was probably the general anesthesia taking longer than expected to wear off. Maybe so, but before he stated she would be ready to come home, and clearly she wasn't. So I had her stay for a few days to make sure everything was ok. The ER was for it, but the hospital was against it, but she stayed. A week later, it was clear she had another stroke, and they eventually found out it was because the doctor in charge AND his nurses were not giving her the anti-stroke medicine as prescribed, and not telling me, though I was there every day and they knew it would cause the stoke. read more

To all people saying their wait times sucks- Yes, it does. But that is because people come in with concerns that are not needed for an ER or hospital. If you go to the hospital, it should be for a genuine concern that is an emergency, not leg pain and assumptions about what it is based off google. Everytime I have gone, the care is top notch and amazing. Customer service excells and their volunteers are lovely. The wait time are going to be like that everywhere. It is called triaging. They take the more urgent customers first. read more

The nurses there are extremely rude and unfriendly. I was there for several hours and I asked five different times if I could just get a cup of water never received a simple cup of water. I didn't receive a cup of water of the whole time. I was there and asked multiple nurses as well. doctor was in the middle of talking to me and said he had to take a phone call and he would be right back and never came back. Would definitely not recommend this hospital. The lady ripped my IV out and my hand was bleeding everywhere. on top of that the hospital seems really dirty. The nurses did not wear gloves while putting IVs in or anything and I said to her I'm like oh that's weird that you guys don't wear gloves and she was like well it's not like I'm putting my fingers in my mouth so I think we're fine. They literally did not use gloves while putting in IVs seems very unsanitary I hands-down would go to Kaiser there are a doctors are very attentive and their nurses are extremely nice and it is extremely clean. read more

I recently had a non-emergency procedure done at Los Robles. I have been going there routinely the past several years. I have never had an issue with the service or billing. That changed recently, so I can no longer use this hospital. The hospital is in my covered network; however, the doctor that performed the procedure was not in network. They said nothing about this during scheduling. You can imagine my surprise to get a bill for the entire amount indicating an out-of-network situation. I suspect this happens often. I would advise others to find other facilities as this constitutes a complete betrayal of trust. read more

My daughter had her baby here and it was an awful experience. They let her labor for 26 hours. The nurses were fresh out of school. One that had experience wasn't older than 25 years old. The other nurse was a trainee and around the same age. My daughter just gave up because they didn't know what they were doing. Finally a couple of more experienced and trained nurses came in and with their help the baby was born 15 minutes later. There was no reason for this treatment. Expectant mothers-if you can, please choose another hospital. read more

I have been visiting this hospital regularly. I dislike the E.R because of many reasons, from the nightmarish waiting time ( there were times where I had to wait for 6 hours to 12 hours at the waiting room) I saw an elderly patients that had to wait for more than 10 hours at the waiting room, he couldn't move because they locked his wheelchair, he was so hungry and thirsty at that day. Around 8 pm he couldn't stand it anymore and asked for something to eat, a nurse came out with a sandwich for him and he ate half and gave the other half to other elderly patient that were also hungry. Another day, another visit, another story, A little girl that cried for hours and throwing up, several patients with iv drips hanging and guess what? Those iv drips were empty for hours. While waiting for E.R bed, the sickly patients were in the lobby with empty IV hanging! The triage nurses that often not very kind and lack of compassion for the patients. The hospital have many E.R beds. They even have a new section for E.R. But they do not have enough nurses. So when you are waiting in the E. R for bed, you actually waiting for nurses. For the E. R I will have 1 star. However, once you get through passing the E.R and get admitted to the hospital, that's a different story. The care level that you get is extra. From the volunteers that delivers food, the staff that come to empty the trash, nurses, doctors, they are extremely kind and compassionate people. They care for their patients. Room is clean and roomy, I feel safe in this hospital. I feel comfortable knowing that I'm in a good hands. I can tell my family members to go home because I know the nurses can take care of me at night time. Thank you to all of you sincerely. Now move on to my favorite subject. The hospital food!! , it's the same. It's blah and I wonder about the nutritional value of the food. Specially the liquid diet options. You know, jello way too sweet, Lipton tea, three times a day, can you please provide something else beside that? sowwy for complaining. Anyway, I'm grateful to have Los Robles as my home hospital. Im not even sure where to start, I came to the ER with severe numbness and tingling on my left side, they were good about seeing me right away and calling a code stroke, that is where the "good" ended. I was put on a gurney in the hallway and left there for 2 days, first day about 2am based on my MRI they determined I did in fact have a stroke and I would be admitted ( when a bed becomes available). I asked a nurse at about 3 am if I could get something to eat and or drink ( I also have type 2 diabities). I was given one pack of graham crackers. My dear friend brought me some food later that morning, however I got ill and started vomiting- still in the hallway, and as I was vomiting a nurse walked by my gurney and said I needed to cover up because she could see my underware was showing, did not offer a new blanket to cover up said that and walked away.- ummm ok at this point I was exhausted and frustrated. I begged for a room in the ER for hours just to try and get a little rest from the noise and bright lights, I was told time and time again nothing was available, however I saw other patients getting rooms all day and evening. I was moved three times to "different hallways", one louder than the next. At this point (not gonna lie) I was fed up and was going to leave AMA, however a very kind nurse talked to me and told me I was next on the list for a room ( still waited hours). I told the nurse supervisor that my dog gets better care at the vet. I will say that once I was in a private room, I have zero complaints from there, very caring staff, doctors and it was nice to be able to finally get rest. I was in the hospital for 4 days, then rehab hospital for 10 days. Hospital and Rehab were great, ER not so much. read more

I usually do not give a low review; however, my MIL's health was at stake at this circumstance, and others may experience a similar situation. How can Los Robles Hospital and their Emergency Services be acceptable by our community? My 82 year old MIL with a history of TIAs due to hereditary HBP went through triage after a day of high spiked HBP at 160/104. Total stay hours at LRHER was of 4 1/2 + hours of mostly sitting at the lobby to go through triage, to be told to wait to be seen, to in turn be seen by a doctor for not even 5 minutes, to be told to sit on a chair in the corridor right behind the entrance and wait for results of a very basic CBC, a basic EKG, to put her sitting next to a number of patients coughing and completely unwell for the next three + hours without ever rechecking her BP or giving her fluids! After waiting for nothing while watching people go back and forth at that corridor, my family and I decided to ask the front male nurse about my MIL's queu for getting her results, he said to us: "her exams have been in, why didn't the doctor go see her?" She had been left there for over 3 1/2 hours, with no BP monitoring, no IV fluids - nothing! Then the same male nurse proceeded to say that "82 year olds can withstand diastolic in the 100s really well"! Imagine that! We were in shock from his petulance while smiling as if it was funny! My MIL left LRHER after almost 5 hours with the same BP when she got in, and was told to go see her GP! Not even in a 3rd world country one treats an elderly with a history of TIA with HBP at the ER like the way she was treated! Shame on Los Robles Hospital and on the Emergency healthcare professionals today! First due no harm? Wow! My MIL could have had a massive stroke! How absurd! We left completely appalled, feeling horrible for all the sick who were also left in that corridor without any answers or follow up! Do not go there! Your health may be at stake! No wonder their risk of mortality is so high! My family and I were surprised and completely disappointed! read more

Be warned. The base fee for walking into the ER is $2120. If you have insurance, they will bill most to your insurance. But out of that, $752 is my responsibility. I received no treatment at all. I was seen by a physician and BILLED SEPARATELY FOR THE DOCTOR! This is only the hospital charges. For a 15 minute walk-in that didn't amount to anything. Our healthcare system is the worst. Complete waste of time. Waited 3 hours as someone with normally high blood pressure who is on medication for it and having abnormally high reading and chest pain. I have been under abnormal work stress which is when chest pain started. They did tests rapidly then two hours of waiting to be told I maybe have bronchitis and this isn't cardiac. Nothing to lower my blood pressure or anxiety. No symptoms of bronchitis. No concern for my high blood pressure. If I have any cardiac repercussions that went misdiagnosed, I'll look forward to suing them for malpractice. read more

My daughter had a bad stomach ache in the middle of the night. She was in a lot of pain so I wanted to rule out appendicitis. It was quiet but a very long wait. They gave her ibuprofen and a stomach exam. We went home. No word on tests or call from the doctor ever. Four months later I find out they billed 11k to our insurance. Not an ethical operation there. Sadly I am writing another 1 star review for this place. You might as well be in a third world country. I went in with severe abdominal pain at 9:30 am. Was told I was going to get a urine test, abdominal ultrasound, blood tests and a possible CT scan if my white blood cell count was high. First off, the facility is DIRTY. It smelled horrific, and people were packed like sardines in the hallway waiting for care. I waited 5 hours to get my blood drawn by a woman who seemed to have no idea what she was doing. It was extremely painful, and I'm not sure if she even used a clean needle. Fast forward 2 more hours still no urine test. I had to use the bathroom badly since I had been holding it in since 9;30 am. I finally walked up to a nurse and said I have to go to the bathroom and I know I need a urine test, do you have the order for it ? She finds my order that was already printed for it ( it was printed at 10:30 am) mind you it was 3:00 pm when I MYSELF had to ask for it. Oddly enough the only quick thing was my ultrasound which was done within the hour I got there. Was basically told by a NP she has no idea what is wrong with me and to come back if the pain gets worse or if I keep throwing up. I also was able to see my lab results on my phone and it showed numerous abnormal blood test results but no one went over them with me. I really can't believe I went back here. I do not feel confident in the care that I got. If you have a true emergency or are in fear for your health please go somewhere else. This place is terrible. read more
