This is a review for the Sunday brunch only. Brought my boys here for the buffet and it was really good. Decent selection but what they had was top notch. My only "complaint" or suggestion, would be a larger selection on beverages. They had horchata and melon juice. Nothing else, no apple juice, no OJ, no milk. But okay. This place must have changed ownership. We came here several times years ago (around 2010-2011), and it was one of our favorite spots. The food was great, the margaritas were excellent, and the overall atmosphere made us want to come back. We returned last week, and it was a completely different experience. The margaritas were a strange orange color with an odd flavor and honestly tasted terrible. My carnitas were dry and served cold, and the beans and rice were only lukewarm. The bean dip was still good, but that was about the only bright spot. It's hard to imagine a restaurant declining this much without a change in ownership or management. I wanted to do something nice for my family on Cinco de Mayo, so I called in a Mexican food order and was told it would be ready in 45 minutes. When I arrived, there was no one at the front to help--just staff running around clearly overwhelmed by the holiday crowd. After finally getting someone's attention, they couldn't even locate my order and asked me to wait another 10 minutes... which turned into another 10, and then more waiting. Eventually, the manager came out and explained the kitchen was backed up. The staff was polite, but the experience felt completely disorganized and lacking consideration, especially knowing families are waiting at home for their meals. It's understandable that holidays get busy, but better communication and organization go a long way. Unfortunately, this was a frustrating experience, and we wouldn't return. read more

Los Toros has been around for decades. I've been coming here for a little over 7 years now. I have always enjoyed my meals and so has my husband who has always said that Los Toros is one of his favorite Mexican Restaurants. Once in a blue moon the food may come out a bit luke warm versus hot or the cheese in the Chile Relleno isn't melted properly, or they mess up by adding chicken or beef to a Vegetarian dish. That has happened several times. However, they are quick to fix their mistakes and they do it without any hesitation. The service has always been great and the servers are always friendly and accommodating. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor patio is covered and they have heaters when it's cold outside and cool misting when it's hot outside. Their chips and salsa are freshly made. Always delicious. I typically order a Tostada with either chicken or carnitas. The chicken has always been very tasty and tender and so has the carnitas. My husband always gets the combo of a Vegetarian Tostada and Chile Relleno and Cheese Enchilada. The rice and beans are fantastic! Good portions! Always the best coming here. We always have to stop at Los toros when we are in town. This place never disappoints when delivering very great Mexican food. I may have reviewed them before, since my friends and I come here often. Today I had lunch with my grandson. We were seated in the newest section, that comfy booths. I love the beautiful paintings, on the walls. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. My grandson got the pazole (Mexican beef soup) and the Paul burrito. He loved both and was surprised at how much food he received. He took 1/2 of the burrito and most of the pazole home. I tasted the pazole's broth and I liked it. I just got the bean and cheese tostada, which I forgot to photograph. It would have been better if the "crispy" tortilla had been fresh. It was so hard I couldn't cut it with a knife. This place has gone downhill, the food was terrible! I started coming to Los Toros in 1994 and it was some of the best Mexican food restaurants in the valley. The last couple of years I've visited a couple of times and I've noticed a difference in the taste if the food. The food here is delicious! Our favorite port is the warm bean dip with chips offered as a complementary appetizer. Service is great, this is a very large restaurant with plenty of seating inside and out. They do get quite busy, the food can take a while. The tacos were tasty as were the soups and salad salads. It breaks my heart to slam them as my previous visits were exceptional. Today my bartender seemed way drunk, took 20 minutes to get his attention for a 2nd drink, not crowded. Ordered 2 chicken tacos but he never entered it in the system. New bartender arrived and took care of it but the tacos were so burnt, I had to scrape out the filling avoiding the over fried shell. To be quite frank, the food was pretty good. There was an older man there who I assume to be the manager who was extremely kind. However, there was a younger of a slightly larger stature who treated me and my family considerably worse than the other patrons. Today we made plans to meet for lunch at Los Toros. We hadn't eaten there for years. Lately I've been seeing mixed reviews about the food and service not being what it used to be. Since we were last there, they have built a large outdoor patio which was very popular today as the weather had cooled down. We opted for indoors which wasn't very crowded. Our server was friendly and curteouse. The menu is large, so it was hard to make a decision. I chose the 1 item lunch special which comes with rice, beans and a drink for $12. Very reasonable. I chose a beef taco. Everything was delicious as well as the salsa, warm bean dip for which they're known and the warm tortilla chips. The portion was just right and I ate it all. Our friends enjoyed their meals (1 and 2 item lunch specials) but my husband didn't care for his chicken mole plate. The mole was too sweet for him. None the less, we'd go back again. read more

The workers here are the nicest ever. Came here last Monday, they said the restaurant wasn't open, but they were serving drinks and appetizers for the game. Sat outside on the patio (warning: got 20+ mosquito bites), I got a strawberry blended margarita, it was super refreshing. Couldn't stop eating the chips with bean dip, though it was on the salty side. So were the carne asada fries, along with being kind of soggy. As you can see from my profile I don't leave reviews. Got asada fries and chips to go. These asada fries were so bad I took one bite and didn't even eat it. Soggy fries that you could tell were just pulled from the freezer, unseasoned meat, and some weird sauce that I have never seen on asada fries at other places. Easily the worst asada fries I've had. I would like to say that due to that I think that's why service was so poor. Our server was not that attentive. He was very distracted and again I just want to say that I think it was due to the fact that it was super busy. It did take a while for us to get our food. our drinks even follow up to see if everything was OK did not happen as it should it only happen maybe once or twice and we were there for maybe about two hours and a half so yeah the ambience was definitely that of a party. mood that people are celebrating and so yeah not the best experience we've had at photos but it was definitely shocking. Think small Mexican restaurant that bought out the rest of the block and merged the space. Just when you think you've reached the end there is another wonderfully festive decorated room. Their margaritas are THE BEST! They bring you chips, salsa AND bean dip (FOR FREE! And it's actually really tasty), and they have huge menus. Lots of options. There's been a recent decline in quality of margaritas and now the charging of bean dip. With the failing of health inspection last week, you wonder how much longer this staple will last if a revamp isn't done soon. Sad to say it, but Los Toros is not the gem it once was. Great place to gather with friends for drinks and happy hour. They do have TVs in the bar area in case you want to watch any sports. I usually get the carne asada plate but today I got the chilaquiles with carne asada (the carne asada was tough and I could have done without), but overall the food is decent. There's plenty of street parking and they also have a parking lot in the back. They also have indoor and outdoor seating. Did the waitress ask her if her food was OK my chili Verde burrito for whatever reason had red sauce on it. Chili Verde is green. I ordered all a cart. The only thing I can say is I loved your salsa. You kind of changed your bean dip. I think it has chorizo in it, which is fine with me and you have a nice patio that's about all I can say. You don't go out to eat to be disappointed and have terrible service. I could count on one hand how many times she came to the table. I'm sorry to say I will not be back I'm just very disappointed and when we got there, there was only one other couple in the patio. I had to ask for more salsa and bean dip because she was nowhere to be found. Just very disappointed. Honestly, I don't think the Restaurant can handle Cinco de Mayo. It started off ok as we were seated immediately but we started off early , 5:30. We ordered our drinks including ice water. Huge disappointment as margaritas came out in plastic cups not even filled to the top. I was expecting a margarita glass. Anyway, drinks were weak AF. Tasted like lemonade. We never got our water. Husband ordered jalapeños with his meal. He never got it. We also asked for tapatio. We got that at the end of the meal. Both our meals were not served HOT. Waiter hardly checked on us. Los Toros is a sad mess. If you're looking for an old-school, dimly lit Mexican restaurant ... Los Toris isn't any longer. They only open the old part of the restaurant which has red leather booths and is dimly lit and awesome one day a week on Fridays .otherwise, it's closed. The front entrance is no longer open. You have to enter from the parking lot into a confusing hodgepodge of brightly lit sports bars, patios and other ugly areas. Good luck finding the hostess. If you want a little bit of the old feel of what once was, there is an old part with a few booths in kind of a kitchen galley that they keep open. It's super weird but at least it was somewhat cozy. As for the food, my Enchiladas Suizas was fairly solid but could pack more tangy punch.. But good. The mole is pretty hardcore and I appreciated that. I just wish it were a tiny bit sweeter. So food is pretty good. I guess people like eating in big cavernous, brightly lit rooms and patios over the old restaurant. Or maybe the owners just think that is what people want. My family and I went here for brunch on Sunday. When we arrived at 10:30am, the place was dead, and the server we had was even worse. No smile, no customer service, and no manners. He acted as if we were an inconvenience even though we were customers. The food took FOREVER to come, and they brought chips and salsa and bean dip while we waited for the food. The chips tasted stale, and the bean dip had no flavor. Nasty. After the food finally arrived, the quality was just as bad as the chips and salsa and bean dip. My family and I barely touched our food, and it was not good! We spent over $100 for five of us, and we didn't even get half-full due to the horrible quality of the food and non-caring attitude of the server. Never again! read more
