Okay so like I've never said this about another place I've ever been to In My Life. If I could give this negative Stars I would. I'm new to the area in Owosso but I'm originally from Mexico and I grew up 20 years in Chicago. Mexican food and Hispanic food in general has been a nearby staple my entire life and I have tried many many restaurants in different states and even different countries. In particular elote is one of those things that's a comfort. So I cannot properly voice how much disgust and disdain I had when I ordered a lot bit into it and it was just boiled corn rolled in sour cream with tajin on top. I nearly threw up and then proceeded to push that out from in front of me and tried to move on to the other dish I had ordered and I tried to bite into that and it was effectively filled with unspiced generic chicken stir fry I then tried to move on to the side of rice and somehow they even messed up the rice. I feel like I'm not the demographic for the area but I was disappointed immensely dissatisfied with my meal unable to finish it and even unwilling to take home The Leftovers to try and "fix" on my own time. I've never had an experience like that at a restaurant because they on purpose serve that. Someone thinks they can make money selling that. Somehow it's more expensive than authentic Mexican food. When I came in and sat down they actually didn't even bring me a drinks menu or mention any specials. I dearly hope that any other location underneath this franchise is in complete contrast. I hope someone can go in and fix this establishment. Don't eat here. I've never had food make me sad before. read more

Had to give an overdue review. Hands down one of the best if not the best Mexican restaurants in-town. The food is excellent in particular the fajitas! They go perfect with a delicious margarita. Have eaten here quite a few times in the past and have always had good experiences; until today. Ordered the lunch fajitas, I inquired about guacamole and was told there was no guacamole today, ok, no big deal. Food arrives fairly quickly (only 2 other patrons). I inquire as to the lettuce that comes with my order and was THEN informed that they have no lettuce today either. I would have ordered something else had I known that in advance. I then asked to have the meal discounted (not completely credited, just discounted, since they had no lettuce and no guacamole and was informed, by a manager, that "they don't do that". This is unacceptable service as well as bad customer relations and I will never be going back there and will inform friends and family not to go there in the future as well. (Why couldn't they walk across the parking lot to Walmart and get some lettuce for heaven's sake?!) read more

Stopped in while passing through. Was impressed with how clean it was. Service brought their A game. We hadn't finished our chips before our food was delivered to us. I had the burrito maya and it was delicious. I'm picky with chicken and the chicken was very good. All around a great experience and will definitely stop on our next trip through. read more

Been quite a few times and in general the food has been decent but the service is always spotty. Was there a week ago and nearly every single order of the four we had was wrong? Poorly cooked, poorly presented and absolutely zero flavor. Service was an abomination. Couldn't get the drink orders right and asked 3 different times for us to repeat what we wanted. Geezuz. I mean the quesadilla came out as a giant taco, no cheese and very little chicken. Taco shells were stale and it's like they tossed a soggy piece of lettuce with a wilted tomato on the side. Bruh I waited 40 minutes for shitty street corn that tasted like mold. Also wet burrito too wet for my liking.

When the food was brought to the table the server said the plate is very hot. When she was setting the plate on the table it was tipped and hot liquid from said plate fell on my leg resulting in a burn in several spots. Manager offered napkins at the time and server came back several minutes later and offered ice. Manager didn't seem to care, was rude and condescending, and made unnecessary snide comments when we were leaving. Would not recommend this establishment. read more

Service was slow and staff messed up our order we ordered no sauce on enchiladas and had to ask for sour cream twice. They brought me flour tortilla after informing I had to have corn due to an allergy, of course it only took 30 secs to get a remake in which instantly fell apart because it was microwaved they tried to double stack with 2 tortillas but it didn't work it crumbed and I ordered medium corn style. Then refused to make it according to my order There was one other customer besides me and my boyfriend and then shortly after a couple arrive equaling 5 people in the entire dining area. Restaurant itself was dirty lots of dust up on the ceiling. Food in orders took a long time, and when they finally did come out, they were Luke warm. Quesadilla was tiny and not filling. Also got chips and queso and the queso left a weird gross film feeling on my teeth. read more

My Mom and boyfriend love going to this restaurant. They even drive from Flushing to eat there and have a Margarita. Today they went and when they ordered a margarita they were carded. My Mom's license expired on her birthday in May. She can't get in to SOS until end of July due to COVID. So they wouldn't serve her even after asking the manager. Mind you my Mom and her boyfriend are both 86 years old. That is ridiculous! They will never go back there again after being a frequent customer. That's no way to treat the Elderly. read more

Since COVID we went out about 3 times. Los tres amigos Owosso mi. Watch out restaurant give you leftover meats in your meal,like my sour meat,chopped chicken and beef.this was in fajitas. They would remake it but ,why, the meat was old and sour. They said we will discount our meal ,I though 1/2 or 2/3 off but no just 10%. Oh boy! We're both 70 yrs old, hope I don't get sick. Worst mexican or any kind of food for that matter I have ever eaten. First the decor, it's like Mexico threw up and then ate it. Totally tacky. The wait staff were very inattentive, all men for some reason. I ordered the beef taco salad. Prior to that coming they brought out chips and salsa. The salsa was like water and I didn't even bother tasting it. The chips were bland, no salt on them whatsoever. When my salad came it had no cheese on it so I had to ask for that which was strange. I had a side of refried beans which were cold and thin. After mixing up my salad it turned to water, it was like taco soup. The only thing edible was the shell. For dessert I tried the flan which looked pretty good in the menu. What they brought me was a cold lump of pudding covered in sugar water. It was revolting. I paid nearly $25 for this horrible dinner. I will never come back. If you want good Mexican in Owosso go to El Potrero and stay far way from this place! read more

Your mailbox is full and I have called and called. For a half hour straight. Online says 30-40 mins but after you pay it says an hour. That is very inconvenient and will not be ordering again from here maybe make your schedule more realistic and not deceiving. I have paid and can't even call to cancel my order or get a refund. My Husband and I were out celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary. We thought we would try los tres amigos. We looked over the menu and decided to order Amigo burrito. We chose shredded chicken. When we got it my husband found out it had peppers and onions in it. The menu never mentioned it. He sent it back explaining he couldn't have it. The manager was so rude. As I finished my meal he finally got his as the manager slammed the plate down and said it's not our fault. I said excuse me, stop your attitude and yes it is. Be more specific on the menu. He pointed and said there's the door. So we left. My husband never got to eat. I've never been so upset. That manager was so ridiculous. read more

Service: Less than poor. We came in on a Sunday and there were only a few other couples dining and we had to flag our server down several times during our meal to order, get a refill, get a chip refill, actually to just get a round of refills. He'd bring one drink back and we thought he'd come back for the rest of us but never did. It took 25 minutes to get our meal, then we ordered fried ice cream to celebrate my 5 year old heading to kindergarten the next day and legit we waited for 20 more minutes before we finally gave up and said forget it. To which we had to flag our server down AGAIN to let him know! Food: Poor! Small portions & my son's chicken finger kids meal had 3 what looked to be extra fried frog legs! There was no meat whatsoever so I asked if that was a typical representation of what this plate is. He responded "yes that's it." So we asked for a quesadilla instead. I came in for opening week, so first impressions were a must. And as custom for many mexican restaurants I go to, I asked them for a simple flour tortilla with ground meat, cheese dip, onions and cilantro. Simple if they nailed it then I am a fan and will order more. This place hit the mark perfectly. The order I asked for was great and then I asked for pork tip tacos. And they were great. I am not normally wowed by mexican restaurants cause the lack of passion and authenticity most provide. But this restaurant is a great exception. The food is great, the drinks are great, service a little slow but hey that is opening week (not a big deal). Even the chips and guac and salsa were good. If it was not so far away I would go there more often, but I will go there if I am in the area. If you want really good food. Go there. It is worth it. read more

Services was very poor, we had to keep repeating our order to our waiter and he still kept forgetting to bring us items. The burrito shell was stale, the fajita was ok but they charged $2 extra for shredded cheese without telling us also I asked for steak and shrimp fajitas so they added and additional $4, the fried beans, rice, lettuce and queso was dried out and looked as it was sitting out all day. I didn't mind paying extra but they should tell you up front and the manager just apologized for the burrito. We will never eat there again due to the quality of food and service read more

My mom brought me and her boyfriend here for Valentines day 2019. It was my first time here and I was blow away by the food, I ordered the sea food "Chimichanga de Camaron" It was spectacular! Best shrimp I've ever tasted in my life, the shell of the chimichanga was done beautifully,the food was separated and done well (tops to the chiefs & head chief) The servers were outstanding and working very hard and well it was like they were working out of a playbook. My only suggestion is when there is a line, have a ticketing system besides having the guests that are waiting to be seated figure it out among themselves and tell who server who was next. I love this restaurant! I eat here frequently and find the food delicious and the helpings are large. I always end up taking some home with me. The cost is about average for the area. I took a friend here for dinner on his birthday and, as usual, the food was fantastic! My friend wanted to substitute mahi for the tilapia in the fish tacos which, he said, made it even more spectacular! Although I am not a fan of guacamole, he is and he said the fact that it was chunky made it all the better. I have never had a bad meal here and I don't see having a bad meal here in the future! We have been to Los Tres Amigos multiple times and always had friendly service and good food. Tonight was the exception. I don't mind a 15 minute wait, but when that turns into 30 minutes and you go in and to check on table and they say they called but the call didn't go through that's a bad start. Not everyone has a 989 or 810 area code. it helps if you use the right area code when calling and they were supplied with a 586 area code. Well we are seated at the table, no menus, a slip of paper on the table and hostess walks away with no explanation. Server comes with chips and salsa (stale chips) ask if we were ready to order, duh????? We ask for menus, she points to paper on table top and says you order from the bar scan code on your phone. We order drinks, a beer and 2 Margaritas and waitress asks to see our ID (now it's obvious we are WELL over the age of 21, 3 times over that, but we have to show our ID. We advise her we don't have bar scan and ask for a menu. So waitress reluctantly brings 1 carry out menu with very small print for 3 people to order from. They can only bring us 1 as they have too few. Needless to say it went down from there. Food was not up to par. Luke warm at best and we were very disappointed in it. No flavor in beans or rice. Enchiladas where practically tasteless, Verde sauce runny, no flavor. Just not the dinner I've had many times before enjoyed.. Asked for salt and pepper. Pepper comes out in a shaker, salt arrives in packets in a salsa bowl. What's wrong with bringing out a salt shaker?? What's wrong with using normal menus and wiping them down. It's not brain surgery. Needless to say that's the last time we will be dining at Los Tres Amigos. read more

Almost as good as authentic Mexican gets! The menu is varied and easy to read with a choice of dozens of combination platters - something all the best authentic Mexican restaurants have. The interior is bright and colorful. They really went all out! Every booth, chair and table has a unique, colorful molded picture representing Mexican culture. It's beautiful! After ordering, about 5-10 minutes later we were presented with a steaming hot plate full of food... I mean it. The plate was almost scalding to the touch. Be careful and watch your kids. It's clean, the service is very fast and friendly, and the food is fantastic. If you are in the mood for Mexican, you can't go wrong with Los Tres Amigos! read more
