Unused water splash pad in the winter with the large playground in the background.

What a great park that's fairly close to me and didn't even realize it. They have about 3+ miles of nature trails nestled near the back of this park that's a really nice perk for me and the dog. Also, an amazingly large and unique playground area for families to take their children. Not to mention a few sports fields and various tables, lakes, and covered structures for any given activity you may want while being there. Really will come back again

Losco Regional Park is located on the southside of Jacksonville. This past weekend I had the opportunity to check it out for the first time. Some of my friends did a 5K in the park and then we met up at the pavilion for brunch. The pavilion had roughly six to eight picnic tables and offered shade from the Florida sun. As well as a grill. Not to mention the huge oak trees with Spanish moss all around which provided a lovely picturesque background (and shelter from the rain to get to our cars when we left LOL). They were restrooms nearby which I did not use as well as a pond. We were surrounded by a playground offering entertainment for the children such as swings, slides and climbing. The park offers a sidewalk path through the main portion of the park. There were also three hiking trails that go into the woods. We were there on a Sunday morning and the park was packed. And bonus, dogs are permitted! I look forward to coming back to this side of town for some run/walk exercise and next time I will bring my dog Simba.

This is one of our favorite parks. It seems to have something for every age. There is a large playground with some unique "things" to play and climb on. This is the type of playground where not only little kids get to play, but big kids, teens...and even adults like to have fun too. There is a covered picnic area, drinking fountains, benches, grills, restrooms and even a splash park (when in season). There is a large area with trees where the kids like to play tag, man hunt, etc. Often you can see ducks and/or geese at the pond as well. What we like the best is/are the short, but ample, hiking trail(s). It's a very peaceful place for a walk and the trails are well marked. There is more than enough parking too! (There is a very nice soccer field located at this park. I/we have never had a reason to use the field so I am unsure of how or who you contact to use it. But it's a pretty awesome field.)

One of my favorite local park. It has just about everything... huge Soccer Fields, Hiking/Biking Trails, Pave Walkways, Playground and Splash Park for kids, Restrooms, Park Pavilion. Great scenery, nice and tranquil for a park.   Losco Park has a 0.5 mile paved pathway that wraps around the park, as well as a 5K route option. It is great for walking, running or just strolling in particular, with your kids and pets. Get that camera ready too, great for picture taking.   This park received a lot of upgrades as of lately. The playground equipment was upgraded. That slide, however... it  goes fast and one of my concern with that is, the slide is metal (it gets hot in Florida, especially in the summer months). That would bid too well on a tushy of a youngin. A small Splash Park section was also installed. Great for young kids. And sadly, I do not see any more swings, which a favorite in the past.   One of the soccer fields was also upgraded, as an artificial turf was installed. There are 3 other soccer fields (all grass) that can be used inside the park.   On the side of the park, there is an entrance for a Hiking/Biking trail. For me, I find it perfect and more suitable for hikers because the trails and terrains themselves are all flat. There are a lot of Pine trees in the trails, so there lots of accumulation of pine needles, which makes for a slippery surface for mountain bikers, especially when making a fast turn.   All in all, this park is always kept clean and well maintained. It is a spacious park, plenty of parking space

-Beautiful park with huge hanging trees! There are bike/ walking paths all around the park, when the weather cools down a lil it's a great place to go walk. -Pretty background to take prof pics by the trees too! -Big soccer fields with AstroTurf( I think) -Brand new BIG playground! It's probably suited more for big kids around 6-12? Will once again be perfect when it cool down a lil...that metal slide will scorch your butt mid day!! Lol! -Water play area! ( My Fav!!) Fountains spray water up and drip water down..for little and big kids so fun!! I would recommend having kids wear swim shoes cause it's pretty slippery! - Heard they are going to add a smaller playground for smaller kiddos hopefully coming soon!

Clean park with a Nice area for kids. Plenty of room for walking, both trails through the wooded area and sidewalks throughout the park. Our pup loves the trails. There are multiple trails for long or short distances.

First time to Losco Regional Park conviently located in the Mandarin area only a 10 minuite drive from my work. The COJ park is full of paved trails on open and wooded areas. I came here to meet my running Yelp friends John L. and Vanessa R. Losco has plenty of trails and beautiful spanish moss trees almost felt like I was in Savannah. Its the home to the Florida Elite Soccer Academy, the busiest times are on the weekday evenings. What impressed me was the large clean bathrooms which were very well kept for a public park. Other amenities they offer are a playground, splash pad and a grill area with plenty if picnic tables. Its a beautiful public place to spend a Sunday afternoon picnic with the family or for a casual run after a long work day. Beware you may run into a crazy soccer mom aggressively watching her child's soccer practice. You have been warned!!!

Losco Park is so much fun! Pure bliss. From happy families, couples, dogs and squirrels! :) I enjoy walking the park. Just recently found out the 3rd Saturday of each month a team (I don't know the name) or awesome people come with their remote controlled boats. So neat!

Great place to plan a family picnic or just to spend a nice afternoon. When the weather allows it, grab a blanket, some friends, a ball and some food and enjoy the day out. Nice fields to set up a baseball/softball,kickball, football game. There's even marked field perfect for soccer. Playground center to the park so little children can play away from older kids but are still viewable.

Needs sidewalk repairs other than that it's a nice park to bring family to. Sometimes bathrooms are not clean.

Ask the Community - Losco Regional Park

How do you turn on the splash pad? It says it's dawn to dusk but I'm here and it's not on.

You can’t turn it on yourself I think it’s done by the maintenance person who looks over the park. Maybe just down for repairs and hopefully working again now!

When is the splash park available to play? It says dawn to dusk but they are off and no sign. 😢

    It's on now! 4/30/19

    Are dogs allowed on leash?

Yes - both on the trails and in the main park as well.

Communication is poor, and the program feels disorganized. For a club that promises high-level training, the execution falls completely short. Would not recommend. We stand by our original review and are disappointed that Bold City Soccer Association chose to focus its response on us rather than addressing the specific concerns we raised about the U12 program. Our comments were based on our actual experience at the U12 level and were intended to reflect our concerns about leadership, communication, coaching, organization, and player development. Families are entitled to provide honest feedback about their experience, just as a club is entitled to disagree with it. What we strongly disagree with is the suggestion that raising concerns about how our child was coached or treated constitutes "disrespect," "belittling," or "unreasonable pressure" toward staff. Advocating for your child and asking legitimate questions about coaching decisions should not be characterized that way. We have supported son and the club for years, and our concerns did not come from a lack of commitment to the program. They came from wanting him to be in an environment where he is challenged, developed, respected, and supported. Ultimately, our decision to leave the program speaks for itself. We wish the players and families well, but remain disappointed in how our concerns were handled and in the club's decision to respond defensively rather than simply acknowledge that our experience with the U12 program was very different from the one being portrayed.

There was never consistency with play calling. one game let's have all the player use high kicks, next game we call every single one. Also, one game a ref yelled at me to "Shut my mouth" when I yelled that the goalie had the ball and the opposing player kept kicking at the ball right next to the goalies head. I didn't yell at the referee or kids. just an observation yell. All of this was sent into Florida Elite. nothing was said about field conditions. the response given about the ref was that he is a child referee. so before making the decision let me point out a few facts: - You are paying a lot of money and I have no idea where the money went. Not tothe field. - If you have a legitimate or complaint it will go nowhere. - If you have a child 17 year old or so referee they are allowed to disrespect parents with no repercussions.
