Milford, Iowa 8 PM…read moreon a Tuesday night and this place is packed. I would not consider it a sports bar but more of a lively lounge. Only two people working. They are doing the bar, tables, wait staff, all of the above: two very busy girls. We sat ourselves and waited for them to bring a menu. The menu has much to choose from. Some really great appetizers, sandwiches and burgers. They fry everything in beef tallow. I ordered the Kentucky chicken bourbon sandwich. I chose the side salad with blue cheese dressing. My husband ordered a burger with fries. I ordered a draft beer. Can't go wrong for a large 16 ounce cold draft for $3.38. Restaurant is very clean. However, when they clean the table, they spray the table with chlorine or bleach, and it has a very strong smell. I really think they should spray it onto the rag and then wipe the table. I do not want to smell that or take the chance that it is going on my food while I am eating. Jumping back to the food, I asked for soup. It is September 2 and the waitress said "there is no soup" although soup is on the menu. It is not available until winter. A bit odd. My husband liked the burger. It came on Texas toast. He had fries with it as well. The burger comes plain. If you want anything on it from lettuce to tomato you have to pay $.25 extra. He asked for some mayonnaise. They gave him two packets of mayo and charged him $.52. Really? They also have a sign on the wall that says that they are charging a dollar more for every beef product on the menu as beef prices have gone up. Crazy! My Kentucky bourbon chicken sandwich was not the best. The chicken was dry and it had sautéed onions with too much sauce poured on the top. It was a sticky mess. My side salad was nothing but lettuce and shredded cheese with a few croutons. The waitress was kind and accommodating to my allergies. I appreciate her for that. Overall, I was not impressed and would not go back. Nor would I recommend this place. I give this place three stars only because of location.

A nice place. Service was some of the best I've ever had. Food was solid, but not the best. I will…read moresay that I think it is as good as I expected it to be, but I always hope it'll be better thus I am not leaving a 5-star review. Fried pickles spears with the rock n roll sauce were great. I wouldn't have ordered these except my server recommended them out of all the apps, so I went with that. Fried things at places like this usually lack flavor and are just salty, fried bar food. These had some kick. The rock n roll sauce was like a Mayo with Frito's Chili Cheese Twists, so they were yummy. Tilapia on wild rice was ok, but it's tilapia, so how amazing can it be, right? Broccoli wasn't too over cooked and it still had a healthy green color, so I was happy with that. And the fries were a tad greasy, but they came out hot and crunchy. I think if they let the oil drain off them a bit more under a heat lamp, they'd hold their crispness a bit longer. Oh, and it was an entire plate of fries, so portions were generous. Lastly, everything was served very quickly. The place wasn't super-busy, but it wasn't dead and I was happy about the timeliness. I ordered an app first then placed an order for my entree after munching on that. And I was out done in 45 minutes. Granted, I was eating alone, but still. If you enjoy meat, I highly recommend giving this place a shot. I am a pescatarian (mostly vegetarian) and I have a sneaking suspicion that their beef and chicken options have much more developed flavors.

Be prepared to show a little grace, there were a lot of cars turning in there as we came up to it- from the food, I'm guessing they're always busy! My wife chose their mainline burger (no cheese) and house fries. Honestly, I think we could tell how good it was going to be when got out of the car and that awesome charbroil smell overwhelmed us. She loved it. I had the Chipotle Bacon cheeseburger on Texas toast, well done for me (they will prepare to your liking), which is charbroiled, then dunked in their home made bourbon sauce and served with Swiss cheese and jalapeños. The fries have some type of coating that makes them a little crispier and a little tastier. Even if you're cruising up I35, it's worth the detour into WC for a great meal. Plenty of tv's but even with a crowd, you can still have enjoyable conversation at your table. It's no wonder one whole wall is covered with "best of" awards. They deserve them. Bon Appetite!

Today, however, we ordered a burger among other things and we were brought the incorrect burger. Our server came to our table and explained he brought the wrong burger. We had already cut and taken a bite of it and said it's okay we will just take what we were brought rather than waiting for a replacement. When we got the bill we were still charged for the burger we ordered even though we didn't receive it. When we asked our waiter, Griffin, why we were charged for it, his comment was "well it was cheaper than what you ate." When we asked to talk to the manager, Sawyer, her comment was "well you ate the burger didn't you?" They did not comp the burger and argued they didn't need too. Bummed we had this experience and will not return.

They are kind of like toasted raviolis filled with cream cheese and jalapeños. Their hand dipped tendies are excellent! And their house made sauce is just as good. My friend really enjoyed her wings and salad. I tried both of her sauces and they were super flavorful, the wings are not fried so do not expect them to be crispy. Overall, I'm looking forward to a return visit.
