A coworker selected this place for lunch, and honestly, if I'd read the older reviews, I would have suggested we skip it. First visit, I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap. The sauce has this little sweetness along with the usual spicy tang, and I was absolutely loved it. It was good enough that on day three I found myself back in the same booth at lunchtime. Round two, I went with the Reuben. I'm a Reuben person--I order them a lot, and I know when one is just pretending. This one wasn't and I could not have been more pleased. On my last night in town, I came back yet again and tried the taco salad. Because the word salad makes me nervous and I'm mostly a proud "meatatarian," I asked for extra ground beef. They did not hold back. It was a few extra bucks, but worth every penny. Coming from San Diego, the prices here just make me smile. The vibe is exactly what you'd expect from a sports bar in the best way: a good-sized central bar, booths and tables all around, plenty of screens, and zero pretense. Every staff member I dealt with was friendly, on the ball, and made the repeat visits an easy choice. Bottom line: this place is exactly what it says it is--a solid sports grill and bar. If you want cheap and instant, go to a drive thru. If you're in the mood for a martini, wine and a slab of beef, go find the prime rib place in town. If you just want good food, fair prices, and a relaxed sports bar atmosphere, you'll be very happy here. I had several great experiences and I'll be back the next time work sends me to Spencer.

She gave us plenty of time to look over the menu with no rush. Food took about 15 minutes and am assuming broasted chicken takes a little longer. When we got our food it was piping hot. That's a really good thing. Server asked if we needed anything else. Asker her for salt, pepper, and ketchup. She returned with those things promptly. Food was hot and delicious. Chicken was moist and the sides were also good. Here's where the experience goes sour. We finished our meal without seeing our server again. Didn't ask how food was or check on beverages. This seems to be the normal. We had finished our meal and had to wait for our server to make a reappearance. We were one of three tables of patrons at 2 pm on a Friday. I hadn't been here to eat for about a year due to the same issue with the service .....,. Or lack thereof. Again, the food was good but once again server was poor and invisible.

After over a two hour wait for delivery on a Sunday early evening our order was cold, greasy and rubbery. Incredibly Disgusting. Not to mention our order was wrong. During our wait; we called their phone number repeatedly. Option 2 = VM not set up. Option 3= VM not set up. A gal finally answered and didn't offer to refund, resend our order or anything. She merely gave us a Denver, CO number that no one answers.

It was fun splashing around, but it was a bit of a bake in the wide open space. This version of water world didn't make it and now the property is being re-imagined into another type of tourist destination. I walked in last week because I wanted to see the old Fun House attractions. The Slide, Barrell, and Sugar Bowl looked great, and busy open restaurant and bar looked inviting. I also saw a newspaper ad about a future hockey rink and with the unused space (both inside and out), it looks like this is part of a larger master plan. Let's hope that their hospitality service model works itself through to profitability and towards being a valued community resource.

Their website claims "You won't…read morefind the nostalgic Fun House Toys mixed with the elegant sophistication that Boji Bay Fun House Pavilion offers anywhere else on the planet!". The concept is interesting, but lacking. The night we were their we couldn't ride the slide because they ran out of waivers, not a big deal. You would think that on a Saturday night they would have enough waivers though... We split two entrees, first we ordered the Herb Crusted Walleye $24, the walleye was heavily battered, think Long John Sliver fish sticks. The batter on the bottom of the fish was soggy since it appeared to be baked, not pan fried so the juices from the walleye pooled under the fish as cooking. I had two bites and that was more than enough for me. The fish was soggy, coupled with the thick batter, I was done. I ordered the Risotto $16. I managed to eat less than a 1/4 of it. The risotto was so over cheesy , nowhere on the menu did it say that it would be drowning in cheese. I was expecting traditional Risotto; Italian rice cooked in broth to a creamy consistency. I did not expect the broth to be cheese. As a culinary experience goes, we will not be back. You can get a better meal at so many of the other restaurants in the area. Considering you are the only restaurant in the Okoboji area that gave me a black napkin, it was not a black napkin dining experience. We will not be back.
