I spent the night there Wednesday September 13th 2017 on my way to Helena MT. I was looking for a place to camp along I 90 thru Idaho, when this place appeared on google maps. I gave them a call and made a reservation. The town listed on their website is nothing more than a post office, the campground was listed as remote. I assumed 1/4 mile out of town ..it was 6-8 miles down a dusty dirt road..So my vehicle got dirty because of the lack of rain this year..that's what camping is about. Besides, the next day it poured in MT...problem solved.. It being off season, the campground was empty other than one other couple in the top section. I asked if I could move to a different site which was way more awesome and they gladly let me. The dog and I had the entire lower section to ourselves. Like every campground, there is a leash rule for you dog. Normally I can remove the leash and he stays within our site but not here. Something about this place made him want to explore. Because the campground was vacant Fred was accepting about his wandering, much less than me. I eventually had to tether him for my own patience. This is a family owned campground they purchased 6 years ago, they ran water and electricity to the sites, now provide hot water showers (a life changing experience) in a remote setting for a ridiculous low price. Then take the money earned to better the campground and get to live in the wilderness. A true American dream. I understand the atv crowd is their bread and butter in the summer so it might be crowded at times.. I was just lucky to find this jewel in the slightly off season. I live to far away to visit here often but for my future trips to MT.. I will surely be there again.
There was one annoyance of nature that affected us slightly, but we were visitors in their home, their space, and a mighty fine space, so all was good..
DO NOT LET THE REMOTENESS OF THIS CAMPGROUND MAKE YOU THINK TWICE.. read more
