We knew the fishing mid-summer may be a bit tough with the river low and the sun shining bright. Justin picked us up in Post Falls right on time at 7 AM. His truck was clean and comfortable for the 30 drive to the Fly Shop just outside Wallas, Idaho. We planned ahead and had our license already, so we just needed to make shuttle arrangements for the truck to be at the pullout. Drift boat was clean and well outfitted for fishing. Justin supplied all the equipment and tackle for the day. We launched less than 5 minutes from the Fly shop and started fishing right away. I was in the front and caught 16-19 in. fish all day. My sister-in-law was in the back using the exact equipment and tackle caught one fish at the end of the day to save her trip. Ran into a young moose while we were anchored up and eating lunch. He entered the river and swam in our direction. we moved across river to let him by and he walked up the other side and disappeared into the woods. Unbelievable to see a moose up close in the wild. The river is closed to boats at the I95 because of construction so we had to pull out at the RV park. Justin returned us to the Airbnb at the end of the day and we said our goodbyes. I will return as soon as I can for another adventure.

We would float for a bit, then stop, and float, then stop. Each time we stopped, we would swim and jump from rocks into the water! He was an absolutely fantastic guide with a tremendous amount of patience. Though my skills were obviously rusty (to say the least) and he corrected many of the common mistakes one would expect after such a long lapse of time. The shop and all staff that I met were fantastic and I plan on many further trips with SB once my permanent relocation to the area is completed. I would highly recommend Silver Bow to anyone interested in fishing the WA ID area.

The fly fishing I do is rivers, not lakes, so didn't know what I needed or where to start. I talked with a very nice man named Bo. He was super helpful, explained what I needed to bring, the weight of the rod, the sinking weight of the line & the technique for sinking flies in big lakes. I ask for some flies and he mailed me a very nice box filled with wet flies & some sinking leaders. So.... went fishing & OMG!!!! you would not believe the fish we caught using the flies Bo sent us. Wowza!! If I am ever in Spokane I will make sure to stop by Silver Bow Fly Shop.

We made some hot dogs over the fire and did a little walking around. The pool looks nice (we always saw a lot of people swimming). The staff was always nice and kind. They really seem dedicated to having a nice campground. We were really impressed by the camp kitchen. We didn't bring anything we needed to cook, (besides the hot dogs) so we didn't end up using it but it looked nice/useful. If we happen to find ourselves in this area again we will definitely use it! It even had a microwave! The bathrooms were always clean and had warm water for showers. The cabin itself was nice. We rented a 6 person cabin. It was roomy with a double bed and 2 sets of bunk beds. The beds had the classic cabin style mattresses, but not too bad. It had a little heater attached, which was nice when it got a little chilly in the evening. Overall a very pleasant and nice experience! (A personal favorite: the front porch swing on the cabin: such a cute touch)

Great dinner and brews in the onsite restaurant/brewery just steps away from our RV site. All the other guests were friendly and quiet. It seems this is a launching spot for ATV/side-by-side adventurers. We have a back hatch that was great for listening to the creek later in the evening. Bathrooms and showers were clean and sufficient, but I was surprised to find a sign at 10:30am saying they were closed for cleaning (just 30 minutes before checkout!). The flyer provided at check-in stated that the cleaning schedule would be posted at the RV Park office, but I checked the white board and it was not. Highly recommend to management to have a standard "closed for cleaning" hour(s) and that it not be just when people are trying to clean up and leave. CAUTION: This would have been a very convenient stop off the I90 between Kalispell and Spokane, HOWEVER, Apple Maps tried to take us over the Thompson pass into Murphy and then onto Nine Mile Road which is narrow and partially unpaved --per the signage near Murphy--, so we detoured and drove about 40 miles out of the way to enter on the West side of Wallace coming on I90 from around Kellogg. ALSO, Due to construction, the 6th Street access from old town is closed, as is the West bound I90 on-ramp on the east end of town, so the directions on the RV Park Website and Apple Maps are inaccurate at this time. Once you get to Wallace and take exit 61 or 62 off of I90, follow the "Nine Mile Road -- 6th Street" orange detour signs through old town from either exit 61 or 62 to enter the Park. Unfortunately, this info wasn't shared when we called the day before and verified the website driving directions were accurate.

Clean bathrooms, and there is a bar and restaurant steps away. The real drawback was how tight the spots were. Some seemed to have adequate space, although none were even close to private, but we were incredibly packed in. When we put out our slide, it was probably 24 inches from the awning of our neighbor. Can't say I've ever been as close to another vehicle before. Another annoyance was the prices had increased since we booked our reservation 6 months prior, and because you can't pay ahead of time, we had to pay the new rate. All things considered though, would recommend for a few days in Wallace, and I would definitely come back.
