The highway isn't too heavily traveled, so the sites are fairly quiet, with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Tables, BBQ grills and fire rings...plus very clean vault toilets and running water. Being in view of the highway, the sites don't feel very secluded or private -- but that is more than made up for by the fact that directly across the highway is a little all-natural sandy-bottomed hot spring, right on the banks of the Payette River. As far as I know you can soak any time, day or night, in a little rectangular pool that used to be part of a bathhouse or something back in the day. We walked over from our campsite after dark, and hiked down for a very relaxing soak. This place is not hardcore, remote or rugged....but I still give it 5 stars because it's clean, beautiful and EASY! And sometimes, that's what you want! I would definitely stay here again...but if you don't want to camp out, you can use the springs for free by parking in the little day use lot at the trailhead, just across from the campground.

As far out as it is, there's not a lot to explore on the campgrounds. To explore you have to go out on the dirt road. They do have ping pong tables & a horseshoe pit. Most of the people staying there had dirt bikes and quads. They'd all be coming and going at times. At night, it was very quiet. They have warm showers, and a clean bathroom (clean for camping standards). To note: It's a fairly long (~9 miles) trek on a dirt road to get to the campground off of I-90. Expect your vehicle to get dirty on the way in/out. There was zero cell service (Verizon). Overall, I would recommend this campground!

The price seemed pretty reasonable, but since we weren't planning to camp, he actually suggested that we drive a little farther down the road to an Idaho Fish and Game access area where we could enjoy the river for free. That kind of honesty and helpfulness made a really good impression on us. He was friendly, answered all our questions, and never seemed bothered by the fact that we weren't actually booking a site. The general store itself is super cute and has a lot of interesting things to browse. The campground also seemed very family-friendly. Our site was close to trash bins to empty our trash and a one minute walk to the bathroom and camp kitchen area, if we needed to do some cooking. Our site has a nice little picnic table and fire ring. Lots of folks were using the fire pits, so there is no fire ban here. We are so close to the lake! Lots of trees here and our spot has enough shade to hide from the hot summer sun. Our site was #60 with an electrical hookup, thank goodness. It helped us not to drain our battery when using the a/c. Our site is in between a cabin site and a tent site. The site is small and fits our 24ft van perfectly. The big thing was that it is level! No adjusting. There is a store in the front and a swimming pool, which is popular when it's hot out. I did not need to do laundry, but they also offer that here. Patchy internet at our site, but we were able to use our starlink instead. Overall, we can't complain because this is glamping to us with all of our needs met. I recommend stopping here if you need a place to camp on your way to Yellowstone.

The owners and staff were amazing and went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay. They were out on the grounds at all times working hard to maintain the resort which by the way is beautiful! They care deeply about the grounds and the wildlife that live there so they take good care of it. I have to disagree with the other reviews that I read. We had no problems and the kids were having plenty of fun just being kids. Yes they do enforce the rules, but I would certainly hope so for the safety and enjoyment of all guests. If you have ever been in a similar type business, you start to understand the importance of enforcing your rules because when you don't...things get out of hand. We took the time to talk with the owners and some of the staff who were absolutely wonderful. We got to know a little bit about them and their business. They are great people, and it's a nice place. Sleeping is open air; hiking is required and is both challenging and rewarding. Kids are grouped by age and get to experience swimming, boating and safety, archery, outdoor cooking, arts & crafts, team building and nature without cell phones for the 5 days at camp. It is not a religious based camp, so consider your own bias and READ the information put out by the camp before making a decision for your family. I have returned 2 more summers and plan to continue into the future. I have seen positive growth in myself as a nurse, and the staff is serious about safety. My children all have their own opinions on what they liked and disliked about camp, and I continue to allow each of them to decide their participation level. They all loved swimming daily, archery and riding the "Big Boat" to camp. Two kids don't love the outdoor air sleeping, but the 3rd one invites friends and looks forward to it every year!

I wish we had time borrow a canoe, hike and use the sauna. We had site number 12 a pull through with full hook ups. It is an end unit and we enjoyed it. The campsites in the center row have you facing the backside of another camper and it's hook ups. There are pull thrus, back in sites, tent sites, and adorable log cabins for rent. All sites come with a picnic table. There is a lot of shade. We felt very safe and even left our bicycles outside of our RV overnight.

Unbelievably disappointed I have been coming to this…read moreCampground for 5 years. The first two years were super great as Country Lane River Resort. The third year, the new owners, the two married couples took over, there were some stumbling blocks and some. We let that go and decided to go back the next year. That was 2023. In 2024, my group of about 65 women rented the entire tent circle plus about 10 other sites, which included five RV spots. We would quietly be enjoying meeting with our group in a circle, not blocking the public walkway and not disturbing anyone, when we would get harassed by a group of drunk folks that were completely disruptive. One woman specifically harassed our group for more than 30 minutes, walking back and forth, yelling into the circle, we actually invited her in at one point just so she would stop. I took this to the camp host and they said they would do something about it, but we ended our meeting early after her continued taunting. I am absolutely disgusted. We rented tent sites A-L and RV spots 4, 5, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 21 for July 17th through the 20th. The evening of the 17th was fairly uneventful. The evening of the 18th, the same woman from last year, with a larger group, came into our big circle screaming and asking what we were doing there and that we should leave and go meet somewhere else. This went on for over an hour and throughout the night. Then, someone dressed in a gorilla suit, with a large group of other drunks, was going to each of our campsites and scaring women. One of our group went to complain to the host and nothing was done about this. On this last day, the 19th, the campground hosted a live band, which we were not informed of, until the day we arrived; after paying over $3,200 to rent all of these sites, it would have been nice to have known this. When the live band went up, it was really no problem, the other campers seem to be willing to let us drive in and out of the campground. There were probably 40 people that were standing in line to get drinks as I was trying to drive out of the complex and as I was leaving, the drunk folks were nice enough to move out of the way so I could exit the campground but Chris, one of the owner's, stopped me screaming in my face and waving his hand that our group is no longer welcome here that we were a huge problem every year and that I needed to leave and not come back. I was shocked & disappointed we were being treated this way and he said that no one is allowed to come back into the campground until the band leaves. I personally have a disability and I was with another woman with disabilities and I have a handicap placard on my vehicle. It is beyond comprehension that someone would make me park my truck down the road and walk back to my camper. It's disgusting actually! We also had a woman who we later found out broke her fibula who was not allowed to ride back in a vehicle to her camper. I ask him what if there was an emergency and I needed to get out and he did not care. We were told that we were never allowed back at the campground, not that we didn't already make that decision for ourselves the night before, but I cannot believe that you could pay for a campsite and not have Camp hosts that are watching what's going on around the campground to make sure you're safe. There was also a point where we were told by some people looking to set up their tents that they we're told by the camp host that they could have any open spot in our Circle, even though we had reserved and paid for all of those spaces! I would not recommend anyone having children go to this Campground or anyone with disabilities or anyone who wants to be able to drive their truck back and forth from their campsite. If they have other plans, you will not be allowed to do so. I highly encourage the campground to have a host that walks through every night to make sure that no one is getting bothered by the other campers. I also strongly recommend that if the campground have an event, it be posted on the site and that the campers who have already paid for their spots be informed of what's about to happen so they can decide for themselves whether or not they want to be a part of that.
