The food is excellent. I ordered the brisket (wet), potato salad and coleslaw. The smoke flavor made the meat very yummy. I actually called the restaurant to tell them how much I enjoyed my food. Customer service was great as well. The place is quaint with several tables to eat in. This is my first time in Giddings so glad I saw this place for lunch.

    A little dive in Giddings!

Wow! The brisket sandwich, potato salad, sweet tea and chocolate oatmeal bar HIT the spot for a drive by lunch! You can even call your order ahead of time! The staff was grateful and friendly. They should play a little music in the background for effect!

best bbq in the best county in texas. best service of any restaurant in town and the ambiance is very friendly. give mason a michelin star. definitely worth stopping by BBQ Chicken

Once we hit Texas, we had a hankering for some BBQ. We were going to stop at Annie's but decided to give this place a try. Two meals of brisket with two sides and a soda was $24.00. Pretty reasonable. The good: The brisket was very tender. The three berry dessert was amahzing. The potato salad was delightful. The price and the location. The bad: The root beer left much to be desired. The coleslaw is vinegary- this maybe a regional thing. The BBQ sauce is nothing to write home about. The ugly: The green beans tasted like canned green beans and were rubbery. Overall, this place has some good things going on and some opportunities. If I could do it all over I would have stuck with my 5 star intuition and gave Annie's a shot.

Terrible sausage. Dry, no taste, no bite.

Tremendous BBQ experience here today!…read more Came from Austin, about an hour drive. Arrived around 10:20am. The line was short for early March, weather was fantastic. We ordered and got our food within 10mins of being there. All was so delicious, the brisket, the pork shoulder, sausages were amazing, ribs 10/10. The sauce was just so yummy! Potato salad was a hit and the banana pudding cannot be skipped! Plenty of seating, all outside and under covering. Classic bbq ambiance! Just loved it all!! Snow's is a real treat and lives up to the hype! Got to meet Ms Tootsie too!! You gotta visit!!

Arrived around 9am and there was about 60 people in line. We ordered a lot of stuff for a group of ten people. The pork steak, chicken, brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage, reg sausage, pork ribs. The sides were bbq beans, potato salad, Cole slaw. And also came with white bread, onions, pickles, and jalapenos. The pork steak was incredible! I've never had pork steak like that before. The brisket was nice and fatty. The potato salad reminded me of grade school in a good way. I got a photo with tootsie as well. What a great bbq experience. Recommendation: pork steak, brisket, and chicken

Reba's is easy to find and quite convenient. It's a large restaurant with a very nostalgic feel…read more The place is open and lots of seating. Music is great! We grabbed a menu and sat down. I noticed it's a bit limited on burgers and sandwiches but perhaps good for the area and easy for the staff to make. We ordered and added some pies, paid in cash for the discount and left to fill our cups. The cashier and another employee had conversations amongst themselves while we were ordering and paying. Felt a bit awkward since we didn't want to interrupt their hugging and or whatever they were doing. The sweet tea stayed mostly empty but lots of unsweetened tea. We dove right into our pies first. The Almond Joy didn't taste like the candy bar as much as an amaretto coconut pie but really good! The buttermilk pie was really good too. I ordered the chicken poblano "burger". The lettuce was sadly very soggy as was the whole sandwich. Thankfully the bun was toasted because there was way too much mayo. I noticed right away that it was just bland. The chicken was thick which is great but it was bland on bland on bland. No poblano flavor. I looked for the peppers. They were grilled/sautéed and thin. Soggy sitting under the lettuce. No flavor. The fries weren't anything special but the crunch. The tea was sadly tasteless as well. I really wish there was more to say. My mom's sandwich was just sort of...there. Nothing special to talk about. I'd go again for pie and coffee alone and only if I was desperate for something to eat. There may be better places to eat in town. It's slow paced inside. Good to watch cars go by and imagine what the place looked like years ago.

(FYI, I live in San Antonio and am very tempted to take a road trip for my next yummy slice.) Then there dessert...well, located within a rocks throw of Brenham, you know what to expect, and it ain't just yummy cookies and cake. Yes, ladies and gentlemen (drumroll) you guessed it...BLUE BELL ICE CREAM!! Spoiler alert they failed to have my favorite daiquiri ice but you're not going to lose me over that. (Hint: just saying for future options. I'll be on the lookout next time I'm rolling down 290 East.) All good and well, the girls behind the counter were attentive and nice. And the restaurant rang of a good place to go after a go hometown Buffalo's Friday night football game. (This is Texas you know.) Thanks Reba (if there is a flesh and blood Reba out there) for expanding to your latest downtown location. LOVE IT!

Ironically, this place isn't much better since it's only open Friday and Saturday. Needless to say, I got here at 2 o'clock on a Friday and it turns out if you get here that late they will be pretty much out of everything. So from 11 AM till 2 PM they've already run out of everything except a chopped beef sandwich and some fried wings. They also offered a fish sandwich, but why? As for the business itself, it is located in basically what can be considered a small garage with just 4 chairs to wait in for your order and three picnic tables outside. In other words, this place is just one step above a food truck and no public bathroom. Inside there will be a flatscreen playing an episode of either Bonanza, the rifleman or the Lone Ranger. In the background, you can hear the sound of numerous cattle mooing. My simple order still took about 20 minutes to make its way out despite only one other person in line. The tip screen will be waiting when you run your card while you either wait in the cramped cool room or sit outside waiting for your order. I have to admit the chopped beef sandwich was probably the best I've ever had as it was stuffed well beyond what the plain white bun was ever designed for. This sandwich alone took this from a three star to a four star review. To be honest, what I got was vey good, but the disappointment of little to nothing to choose from hardly made it worth the drive. If you're not the early bird, don't expect much. However, if you call 512-595-2477 you can make an early order. 10 photos included or more insight.
