Caberfae was alright back then and still is today. Caberfae is a decent sized Michigan ski resort with no lift lines but minimal amenities, and can be a blast on a powder day. The biggest drawback though is if it's not a powder day, have fun shredding on a sheet of solid ice. After 22 years in the USAF and snowboarding all over the world (I am admittedly spoiled), I forgot what snowboarding on ice feels like... Ouch for anyone over the age of 40 lol. Although Caberfae does a good job of snow making and grooming of trails, the lack of continued fresh powder makes the resort an ice rink when fresh snow does not fall... Add in all the beginners that frequent the hill (and there's a lot) and this place can be a hospital bill waiting to happen, so be aware and have your head on a swivel. All-in-all though, Caberfae is a good family-friendly, beginner's resort, with respectably priced lift tickets, and has enough terrain to have a fun day on the hill. Dave Portnoy 6.8

And Mark, the owner, could not have been more kind or helpful to our family. He was extra accommodating on letting us arrive early and stay late since he had no guests right before us or after us. And he was excellent about checking in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. It was the most marvelous place for a Christmas getaway for a large family and we would recommend it to anyone. Definitely would return for another trip to this up north paradise!!!

The additions were individual fire rings and picnic tables for each cabin. Inside the cabins have new refrigerators, curtains, and all of the cooking & eating supplies needed. In addition, the beds are comfortable with very soft sheets. Towels, hand soap, dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, TV, cable, and a fan are also supplied. The setting outside for combined use includes plenty of space for kids to ride bikes & play games. There is also a common fire ring and horseshoes. Great family campground for a great price!!!

We have rented kayaks from Pine Creek a hand full of times over the last few years and each time it…read morehas been great, just be sure to sit in your boat before you leave and make sure everything works, backrest, foot braces ect...some of the boats have seen better days. Even though you make reservations you do not have to specify a time, just show up and go. We have never had to wait very long for a shuttle driver, you will follow them in your vehicle to the take out location, hop in their truck and go to the put in, enjoy your trip, leave the kayaks, get in your vehicle, drop off your paddle & PDF back at the store, get your deposit and your on your way. All of our trips have been on the Pine, very beautiful, some good places to stop for a bit stretch the legs & such. During periods of high water it has just enough flow to keep things interesting but not so crazy that beginners will not enjoy themselves as well, a few sections are rated as class I & II I believe, during normal water levels it's just a few ripples.

I was completely shocked at the experience and have now found a new place for my family to go whenever we feel a need to "get away", which is often!
