We ordered a quick lunch -- one bacon cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato, one chili cheese hot dog, one bag of Walnut Creek cheddar and sour cream potato chips (2.25 oz), and a bottle of Kutztown birch beer (24 oz) -- all for $11 something, including tax but before tip. There are two community tables, one of which we shared with Ernie, a local, who gave us great advice on which roads to avoid for our onward travels. The shop is worthy of a longer browse. They seem to have a bit of everything. For instance, fruits and vegetables, refrigerator cases with milk, homemade macaroni or tuna salads, fresh deli items, cast iron frying pans, hardware store items, phone charging plugs, greeting cards, and so much more. They took advantage of the fact that it is near a tourist area. They also took advantage of attempting to lure shoppers here. Another reason as to why it looks like the built in a hurry, they made it a supercenter, but built it too small. The inside of this thing is way too small to be consider a supercenter in terms of size. With the smaller floorplan you get a smaller selection of items. I noticed that was a complaint in at least one other review. I also noted that in another review, if you are not paying attention, you will bypass this place. Although I do not agree that it is good for any given area to have a Walmart. It comes off as convenient in the spur of the moment, but it really hurts a community most times. Walmart isn't the end all for shopping. Especially when it is as small as it is and doesn't really have that much in regard to variety. Alright, I feel like I'm beating a dead horse here. It was just a quick stop for me as I wasn't really needing anything, but since I was out I stopped in. I did a quick once around the store to see if there was anything I needed. My friend needed to get some Husky snuff. He buys it by the roll of five cans rather than individual cans, because it is always cheaper that way. No matter where you go, that is the standard. The lady at the counter went to ring up the roll, and it came to $12 and some change. The new manager/owner, whatever he is, says " oh no, no no! That old price, that old price!" So he deleted the roll she rang up and proceeded to scan one individual can, five times! That brought the price to nearly $16! I turned on my friend's son, and said "he is ripping us off big time!" I felt sorry for the lady at the register, she was clearly frustrated and truly apologetic for what he was doing. We also had an issue with the cheese we purchased. We should have known the price price was too good to be true. $3.99 a pound. So we bought two hunks of cheese, one was supposed to be American, when we got home, we discovered that he gave us horseradish cheese. Not only that, it is not real cheese. It is processed cheese food! It is truly nasty. We can't even eat it. We will never return to the store. I feel sorry for the lady that was working the counter, I don't see her staying there much longer under the new management. He is a total jerk.
