Wanted to try the nola style food but when I went to the bathroom I saw a massive roach walk right into the kitchen and people were there and I'm sure they saw it but no one did anything so I'm assuming that's a norm and decided against eating. I came here tonight with a coworker after our shift and wasn't let in because the bouncer believed I had a fake id. Living on the beach, I've been here many many times for beer specials and especially karaoke on Thursday nights and always have a good time... I've never seen this bouncer before and I will admit I look young for my age, but it was still a totally EMBARRASSING ordeal. When I asked to speak to the manager, he came out and said they have the right to deny service to whoever they want and I was wasting his time trying to argue my point. All I wanted was one or two refreshing beers after my long workday; Like I do 2 to 3 times a week.. Instead I walked home after a long days work feeling belittled and embarrassed even though I did nothing wrong. I don't like to write bad reviews especially for this place. I always have so much fun here.. I guess this guy was having a boring night and wanted to pick on someone... Hang up your high heels, girls. You won't be needing them. The doorman, if he is even there, doesn't give a damn about your Christian Louboutins, and you may get stains on those True Religion jeans, 'cause your gonna want that sammich that making the bar smell do damn good (despite the cigarette smoke), and those delicious cheap beers made you forget all about that diet you were on, right? This is a great dive bar to pass the time after a long day at the beach, and I recommend giving the food from in-house eatery "The Alibi" a chance. This is a chill and laid back atmosphere. The bar is filled with pool tables, features different programs on the TVs & plays a fun mix of current hip-hop & pop hits. I really liked the music but was hoping to be able to dance but the venue was so crowded with guests, most of whom were playing pool. I would have had more fun had that been what my group and I were interested in doing. Still, a fun venue to go with a group on a Wednesday for ladies night. From the pool tables to the dart board to the giant TVs to the good music selection to the most important $20 beer bucket special, Lost Weekend has a lot to offer. Perfect for any night of the week, it's a good bar. It's tough finding a good bar, and even harder in South Beach where bottle popping is king. We came here on a Monday and it was the first time we had been here. Here to celebrate a friends birthday they were serving 1$ beers and they pool tables and air hockey! We were here on a Monday night and it was cracking. I can see why. They had PBR tall boys for only $1 and shots of Jack for only $4. The bartenders were great too and really friendly to tourists as I'm sure they get plenty here. I met a lot of random people here and everyone was buying drinks for each other. It was easy to start up a conversation with anyone. If I'm in the area again, i'll be sure to stop by and hopefully it'll be on a Monday night again. We had a great time. read more

This is a really cool spot to hang out that is large enough for there to be a lot of people and still have space and places to lean or sit which is cool. Lots of different things to do inside like pool tables, bar games, and even arcades. They offer bar food like for example pizza's, wings, and po boys. This is the perfect spot to start off a night for a drink or for a night cap after going to wherever you went earlier. read more

I have an informal system where I start at a nicer bar/restaurant before hitting something a little less nice, than finally ending up in a dive. LW is that "middle" place. Each time we've been here it is completely packed, the people in the place are friendly (trended pretty young). Pool tables, TVs, etc., everything is there to have a good time. Nice part about LW, though it's close to everything, it's not on the strip & it is not a "club bar". Definitely recommend stopping by, though I wouldn't make it your last stop. read more

A dark wood exterior belies a happy and warm bar with exceptionally friendly staff and great pool tables. I did make the mistake of ordering two jugs of beers for me and my friend (we were planning on staying a while and it seemed a good idea to stock up). This raised an eyebrow from the owner, but I put that down to a lack of meeting English people and their drinking habits. Good, clean toilets and no nasty sticky junk all over the table football (or foosball as we learned that night) made a good impression on my pal - although it being America we had to take passports as we were asked for ID each time we bought a drink. Praise be the airconditioning, needed and very powerful! First time I'd been to the bar was during Princess Diana's funeral procession was being broadcast on television. This made it quite a surreal experience, to be in a bar full of weeping Americans, but the excellent TV positioning around the bar made sure the place could accommodate a fair few of us and nobody felt left out. read more

This place was ok. It reminded me of when NYC allowed smoking in restaurants/bars. Disgusting. I had three beers here (good thing they had Sam Smith's) and a chicken cheese steak which was quite good. I was watching the Rangers-Yankees playoff game 4 here. Buncha bandwagon people in Miami cheering for the Yanks. Meanwhile, I was likely the only New Yorker in that place. The bartender was super slow and not very attentive at all. My cheese steak took over 20 min to come out - no exaggeration. One dude ordered a pitcher of beer and she poured it, but didn't hand it to him (he hadn't paid yet, either). That took about 10 minutes. This place is cool if you are in a group and want to shoot some pool or watch a game. I wouldn't go nuts trying to go back to this place but if I was in the area, I'd stop in for a drink. read more

Lost Weekend is a great little hidden gem on Espanola Way (on the opposite side of Washington). I went here with a friend to see a comedy show and I must say that I was really impressed. It had all of the makings of an awesome dive bar. All locals - low cost beer and a cool atmosphere. I would suggest stopping in. I think that their happy hour beers were half price (like $3 each) and they had $1 beers on a Monday that I went. I also noticed that it was full of hipsters.:) read more

This is my second favorite bar on South Beach besides its strange, strange, conjoined twin brother. Lost Weekend is my go-to place to take people on South Beach who aren't interested in clubs, but whose faces turn deathly white when we walk into Kill Your Idol. I don't mean to imply Lost Weekend isn't a great place as a stand-alone bar. It checks all the right boxes. The beer selection is great--there's a bit of something for everyone. There's good music playing, especially if you're a fan of '90s rock. And of course, the pool tables are possibly the best way to wind down a long night. And most importantly, they have the best cheesesteaks I've had south of Claymont, Delaware. read more

It's like your home town old favorite dive bar, nestled between Collins and Washington in the heat of it all. In a sea of overly stylized bars, one after the other, chasing the latest trends ... this is so opposite end of the spectrum, it's welcoming. All ages. Gay and straight all having a good time. Yap yap yap. Easy to pick up a conversation, game of pool and to watch sports .... All on the cheap. Bartenders busy but friendly. Easy to become a regular here. Not typically a big fan of the beach, this is maybe the only place in Miami Beach that I've been inside of more than once. My first time was a piss-drunk 22nd birthday party at Kill Your Idol that is connected to Lost Weekend. I remember having just graduated bartender school, I'd ordered every shot I could remember. In the morning, I was literally crawling around my house begging for water and then laying fetal position in my shower between barfing... But my second time was much nicer. My sister brought me after a Yelp event nearby insisting their shrimp po-boys were the ish. They were a little too spicy for me, but would have been tasty otherwise. I loved that they served Crispin Cider (my favorite "beer"). The atmosphere is such that it's easy to have someone strike up a conversation with you, which is either really good or really annoying depending on my mood. And my, -shock face-, THIRD time going, I met up with my sister and her coworkers for lunch and went there. I ordered the pulled pork sammy, but sadly the menu didn't warn me of all the pepper in the pork. I'm HIGHLY allergic. I felt bad, but had to sent it bad. I figured I'd just eat the taters since I didn't want to piss anyone off demanding a replacement. But the bartender insisted and I ordered the Philly cheese steak sammy, with provolone. It wasn't the best or the worst, but I'd never had a PCS sandwich before so I had nothing to compare it to. I wrapped it up and took it home. Later that night, I added mustard and mayo to it and wolfed it down in a minute and a half. I'm an incredibly picky eater though, so don't take my word for how the food is. My only major issue was that the last time I went, we were the only people there (it being a bar at noon). We all clearly wanted to have a conversation, we were chatting pleasantly having already ordered. Then the bartender turned the speakers on WAAAAAY TOO LOUD! I'm all for jamming out while you work, but my head was already hurting before going inside - the volume made my head hurt so bad, I thought I would pass out. I prayed that I would pass out.
