The restaurant is slightly off the beaten path and not really easy to find, it is situated just up the hill from the main harbour of the old town of Puerto del Carmen and actually right beside the other famous Irish/Polish Bozenas Restaurant. As we weren't overly hungry when we ate here last night we decided just to go for mains followed by a delicious dessert, judging by the menu! To our surprise we were happy we made that choice as we were presented with a complimentary sample of a mouthwatering caramelised onion and roast beef tartlet and sweet popcorn served with a selection of freshly baked breads. For mains we chose oven roasted chicken with black pudding and Parma ham stuffing and a red wine herb jus, plus king prawns sautéed in garlic, ginger and fresh chilli with a tomato concasse fresh herb and sticky rice. Accompanying both of those deliciously tasting dishes was a selection of perfectly cooked fresh vegetables and layered potatoes. For dessert we thoroughly enjoyed equally delicious and mouthwatering chocolate mousse and a truly amazing sticky toffee pudding, oozing with runny toffee sauce from its centre....served with a tiny ice cream cone! They had a good wine list and we enjoyed a half bottle of a Spanish cab. sauv, priced at around €8.50 which appears somewhat pricier than normal in the vicinity, but probably better quality! As we were presented with the bill of approx €56 for all of the above (again a little pricy but not for that type of food and service) we were given a complimentary glass of cava and tiny little salted caramel chocolates! Wonderful friendly and efficient service, lovely atmosphere and comfortable seating in a small but secluded terrace outside as well as inside space. There are many good eateries in the town, but if you are going for the gourmet experience, this is the place to go. And even though this (both times) was the most expensive meal of our stay, is was also the best value.... both the food and the service was simply top notch. And still a bargain deal compared to danish prices. As vegans we often get something from the menu minus the meat, fish or cheese. We had heard, that they at Kristian's Restaurant could make vegan food so we went and asked, what we could get. We were told, that we had to book a day in advance, and get whatever the chef came up with. We took the chance, and booked a table. When we came there, we found out, that we got a five course dinner created just for us, for only around twice the price as we payed for 'run of the mill' standard starter and main course at other restaurants around. When we came back the second time, we got a totally different five course dinner. This place surpassed any expectation. Remember that if you want to order vegan, you have to tell them at day in advance, and be prepared to eat whatever the chef and owner Christopher comes up with. But rest assured, you will not be sorry :-)

We found a large piece of plastic in one of our starters (pakoras) and alerted a server. She came back shortly afterwards to explain that it had come from the lids of one of the plastic containers they use and must have snapped off. No attempt at a proper apology or anything! They didn't even adjust our bill to compensate for the fact that part of that dish was dangerous and inedible. Unbelievable! Overall, we were very disappointed with Bistro Arbol. We're a family of 4 vegans that visits Lanzarote regularly but we won't be going back.

They are beautiful couple and I just simple wanted to surprise them and celebrate with them over a dinner via FaceTime. I have never been to Lanzarote, I had no idea how delivery system works over there but I felt determined. Not easy task, hustling in NYC, 5 times zones away, I was afraid of language barriers, payment methods, but mostly - I had only 9 hours to make it happen. But everything is possible, especially if you are surrounded by the right people. In our case I didn't have to be surrounded by them or even to know them. By recommendation I found V-Factor. As being vegan myself, I made my choice quickly. I sent them message over messenger and I got respond almost immediately. Language wasn't barrier at all, we had some problems to solve, but the staff got so excited about this special occasion that they found solutions to everything. Let's cut to the case. I let it up to Mitrix to choose the right menu for my friends. And Mitrix did great job. This is what you can see on the picture and what made my carnivore friends fall in love with vegan food. I also want to highlight professionality and kindness of a driver who delivered the food from Arrecife to Playa Honda, he was very sweet and he definitely made the surprise for my friend even more special. You can tell they do business by heart. This is what happens when people do what they like to do. I can't wait to meet them and thank them in person, to hug them. Experience with this restaurant makes me believe that good people exist. I am not sure, if it has something to do with being Vegan and thinking about the world differently, but I am more and more excited about Vegan community.
