We initially met Carla at Château du Feÿ, where she was employed. After a disappointing experience with another planner, we hired Carla 5 months before our wedding, hoping her 3+ years of specialized venue expertise would be invaluable. To our surprise, Carla had not worked with half of our vendors before - even though they were part of the short list of recommended vendors provided by the venue. Despite her website's claims, Carla's design suggestions felt generic and lacked the personalized touch we were looking for. Carla's lack of attention to detail became increasingly apparent as we worked with her. Our wedding had many unique and custom details. Lots of information that a seasoned wedding planner would be able to keep an attentive handle on. The mounting oversights caused significant stress in the final weeks leading up to the wedding. We were genuinely anxious that our vision wouldn't be realized. Luckily, we had multiple vendors and family friends that helped Carla execute the event. As the bride, I distanced myself as much as possible from Carla to allow myself to enjoy the day without frustration. This is not the typical experience. While we appreciate Carla's willingness to take us on with short notice, and she did have some helpful insights regarding sourcing a local florist and unique videographers, her lack of attention to detail ultimately overshadowed those positives. We first worked with Alana and her team during our friends' wedding in 2023, and needless to say we were impressed immediately with her ability to organize everyone to get the bridal party photos she needed and we wanted. We kept her name in our heads for our own wedding plans, and when we were ready to begin the first steps, Alana was the very first phone call we made. Now, needless to say, as a first-time fiance I had never planned a wedding before. No idea where to begin. When I tell you Alana's first consultation was the BEST thing for us, she was absolutely amazing! She gave us a pretty rough idea of how a wedding day would typically go from a photographer's perspective, and we were able to basically wrap our plans around her schedule. I am so grateful for that. She was able to put my mind at ease, was incredibly thorough and communicative, and I could not WAIT for her to photograph our wedding. While we looked at other photographers and their costs - in the end, the cost was worth it, and let's face it, Alana was ALWAYS our first choice! I will never be able to recreate what a perfect day our wedding was, but if I had to do it all over again I would still want Alana as our photographer. They were an absolute pleasure to work with. Bill was extremely responsive and helpful in deciding timing and number of artist (we had 300+ guests). Heck I didn't even need to be there as he already had a different face pictured in his mind. The downside is the customer must pay even if they didn't like the final product. I would say keep your expectation realistic. My experience in summary - a big waste a money!
