Judy was always extremely accommodating especially for my very last minutes appointment. She always tries to squeeze me in in her very busy schedules. That's every time too lol. Judy, Mei, and Elaine does the best nails in there. Others a bit sloppy on their works. Besides the nails, Judy also offer eyebrow wax, thread, and tint. I told her I have sensitive skin, so she gave me sensitive wax for my eyebrows. Talking about consideration and care. She also does eyelash services. I got a full set from her for a very reasonable price. Other nail salons have charge me 3 digits for mediocre nails. But Cottman Nails charge me half the price for some very pretty nails.

I received a text once from the technician saying I forgot to make my 3 week appointment the last time I was there and then she put it in her appointment book; and therefore, putting someone in my place on the 3rd Thursday @ 2 pm is not an honest mistake It is a racist and disrespectful gesture.

Also, we picked a color that was too light and the one woman we had picked a few more colors for us that were similar and made sure we were happy with the one we chose. I paid close attention to the owner giving White patrons back massages with her bare hands and giving Black patrons a beat on the back with these tools (pictured below) as if she doesn't want to touch them. When I confronted her about this, she said sometimes her hands are too tired. But a lady (who just so happened to be white) JUST got out of her chair before me and she gave a back massage with her hands. As soon as my nails were finished...she reaches to grab these tools to bang on my back. I said no thanks and let her know what I witnessed in my last three visits. OF COURSE, she denied, denied, denied and said "my bad." First of all, I do not speak using ebonics so "my bad" from her was also a bit much. Very disappointing. I've now seen both her and her husband doing the same thing with customers. If you guys barely want to touch Black patrons...don't accept their money! DISGUSTING BEHAVIOR! Extremely unsettling. I hope you two are not teaching your daughter this racism too. I will never give VIP NAILS another penny. Also, the reuse flip-flops and toe separators. This is what my nails look like directly from walking out the door getting them done. The pinky's and thumbs are significantly longer on one hand than the other. The shape is not the same on all, some are wise some are thin. Some are angled to the side instead of being straight. The polish applied looks awful in my opinion. The color is beautiful and I appreciate the tiny design, but aside from that, I hate these nails and don't intend on returning. Also, the whole process was rushed and the employees had an attitude and were rude when I entered. Their studies were fine by the end of the nail session. However I also witness them get rude with another client that came in after me. I also didn't like that they made me pay halfway through the service. It was very unsettling and it didn't give room for me to ask for anything additionally to added/ changed.

They are following all COVID-19 protocols from masks being worn by everyone completely over the nose & mouth to disinfecting the stations between customers and allowing a period of time between bookings, so the place isn't filled with people coming'n'going. They only book one or two clients at a time (I even tried to book a couple session, but they were booked, so it was a single session. I say that because some other salons I have been too are fitting people in sideways to make money over fighting COVID-19). Security is the tightest and the doors are locked to limited entry and you have to call from outside to check in and are only allowed in once your appointment time has arrived. Love that these measures are in place! Now, I'm a vet so I've been all over the world and I have to say they earned those and easily are the best stateside nail salon I have been to. The employees are polite and professional. Their touch is always soft and tender; not once was I scratched, poked or sliced during the service. The actual pedicure includes the soaking and exfoliating, BUT THEN THERE'S THIS CREAM THAT IS HEATED AND THEN APPLIED.... BAE-BEE!!!!! I was like "what is this and why have I never had this before at any other place?" He said "we think it's better if it's warmed" At that moment, I was infatuated with this nail salon. It's understood that going to any place that your nails and feet will look better, but I felt like I had reset my beauty life coming here. I've never had to complain or ask they re-do something. I love conversing with the employees while they're performing your service. Oh and on New Year's, they even gifted me a medium size tube of green tea lotion. I use it all the time. I've never been to a salon that treats customers this outstanding.
