Unfortunately not what I could shove in a carry on for everything that is so pretty. I did end up getting a few items and some new stickers that I converted to magnets. I did ask about shipping and they ship out of state which was perfect. They also have new inventory on hand as of this week (I had left this past Saturday to go back home). I feel bamboozled!! When I went I had such a wonderful experience. I spent $600. Although at the end of my visit I started to get the feeling that one of the head women in charge didn't believe I was going to get anything. Her attitude sort of shifted to treating me like I was going to steal. It didn't feel too good. But that's not my point. I went on fashion nova and shopped their new lingerie collection. Found the exact same 3 piece (bra, panty, garter set) and ordered it out of curiosity. It is the exact same quality and the exact same material. I paid $79 for the panties and bra, and an extra $29 for the garter belt. That's over $100 for the same set that fashion nova sold for $44. I feel extremely bamboozled. All the other sex stores I've looked into going to have just looked so seedy and gross; I'm a shy person and the thought of going into some cold dingy porn superstore grossed me out and embarrassed me. My boyfriend had been to this store once, and when he told me it was on King Street in Old Town Alexandria, I knew it must be decent at least and when I yelped it/looked at the website, it looked very classy and nice inside so we stopped by for a visit recently. The girl working at the front was ridiculously friendly, approachable and made it almost impossible for my awkward shy self to feel awkward and shy in there. She was very attentive and noticed when we seemed to be wondering or needing more information about something and was there right away to help, but gave us space to browse on our own too and wasn't super pushy which I greatly appreciated. The store itself was very nice, beautiful wood floors and decorated tastefully. It's pretty small, but it's packed full of stuff so the size is nice since it doesn't overwhelm you. SO many corsets and various kinds of lingerie, books, a whole wall of more dildos/vibrators/other types of toys than I even knew existed, floggers, crops, canes, paddles, you name it--if you're into kink or BDSM, you should definitely stop by this place! They even have a decent selection of collars. On our way out we noticed a whiteboard with all of their events/classes listed--awesome! Some of the classes look super fun and helpful. I also really loved the emphasis on body positivity/embracing all sexiness regardless of size (lots of books about curvy/big girls and lingerie came in all sizes)--the first title I read when I walked in the door was a book right up front that said something about "Curvy Girl Love" and it made me instantly feel comfortable and not judged, which was my biggest anxiety about coming to a store like this. All in all a lovely little store that we will definitely be coming back to...can't wait til it's time for Christmas shopping :D. I've been to Lotus Blooms a few times over the years but lucky for me my latest temp job had me working just a few streets down. What better way to truly treat yourself then with something from this store! The selection (lingerie, corsets, toys, accessories!) is really great and the store is bright and clean. The employees are always friendly, knowledgeable, and never pushy or judgemental. On my latest visit Aly was extremely helpful with explaining all of the ins and outs (heh heh...) of different products. She explained how they worked, what the products were made of, and different ways to use them on differents parts of the anatomy. The store was a bit busy since it was before a holiday weekend, but both employees in the store seemed to seamlessly flow from one customer to the next, and back if they had any questions. Knowing when to jump in to answer questions and when to step back so the customer can explore or make a purchase decision is a fine art that I think they've perfected at Lotus Blooms! I did end up getting something new to bring home and Aly explained my product had a warranty and if there were any issues I could bring it back to the store and they would take care of the issue directly.
