Excellent selection and service for women with larger cups and smaller cups. I have come twice and the staff is well knowledgeable. Sadly, because of bra size I have not had the fortune to check the entire selection for the small cups size. I know they have them as I have peruse to check the prices on some of the models. I love they have both PrimaDonna and Empreinte but the selection is limited for this brand. I day dream for the day that I can afford them. The bras for these two brands are pretty expensive but the material and stitch are leagues apart from other brands. For the fuller busted ladies, they have great options to select like Panache and Elomi. On the two occasions I have visited I cone out happy. What prompt me to leave a review now? After years of trying to find a legit bra that is an actual tshirt bra and that I can wear with a wrap dress for my size I found it today. read more

This store is lovely and provides a great service. However, because this is such a personal business , the salespeople need to be MUCH MORE WELCOMING AND PLEASANT. Nothing wrong with my fitting, but the salespeople were just not friendly or pleasant. (And I was pretty nervous about people seeing me in my underwear!!! They should understand this, and go out of their way to make people feel more comfortable.). While I was there, a woman came in. She wasn't greeted by the three people standing behind the counter. So she asked them if she could be fitted. "Why? Do you feel like your size has changed?" Instead of saying "Yes. We'd be glad to. Let me help you." I see other commenters had the same experience. With such a niche store with very high price points, you would assume the salespeople would bend over backwards to help their customers. Instead, they act like customers are an imposition. 1/12/26: ive been meaning to get properly and professionally measured for... oh, over a decade. i dont shop at victoria's secret; i forget why they made me mad haha. so if you take them out of the equation, this is the only place in town! the lady at the front desk put my name down on a fitting list and i was immediately greeted by savannah. she was lovely! considering how intimate this is, i found her very professional and warm. she measured me. once we got my measurement, she brought me one bra to make sure it was the right size and fit. we both agreed, it was the right fit, so then she came back with 5 to try on. 2 were hits and i walked out with those. it was a great experience. ill be back. read more

I wish I had read the Yelp reviews before stopping by. Eh customer service. Like Kimi said, I want to leave a lingerie store feeling my best. Instead, I left feeling like "sigh, at least I got some new bras." I stopped by on a weekday afternoon. I, too, felt like the staff fawned over other customers while they treated me like I was an afterthought. I also put my name on the list to be fitted and they noted I was a first-time customer. They told me it'd be quick - it ended up being 30-40 minutes of me trying to browse and then finally just sitting right in front of the register waiting to be assisted. I thought it was insulting for the initial salesperson (Savannah) who put my name on the list to literally spend 15 minutes chit-chatting with no sense of urgency while I was sitting and waiting to be helped. I honestly contemplated just walking out at that point. Celeste helped fit me. I agree with other reviewers that she's to-the-point (not necessarily a bad thing when I had been waiting for so long and just wanting to get items and go). I didn't mind that she was no-nonsense - but it doesn't really make me want to return. She got me fitted, answered my questions, and brought me items I liked. It did feel like a stark contrast to other customers and sales associates I observed in the store. I don't want to draw any conclusions as to why this seems to be a shared experience since this was my only visit - but it IS worth noting that several Yelpers have stated this. The prices are just MSRP. The store is not particularly well-organized either (sizes all over the place on a single rack). It sounds like customer service has been declining for a while (based on the other Yelp reviews). With lackluster customer service and MSRP prices, I see no special reason to shop here. I came in needing a new bra because it was close to my job, and I'm SO glad I did. Savannah helped me with a fitting and pulled an amazing selection for me to try. She was incredibly kind and welcoming and made me feel comfortable right away, which honestly makes all the difference. I had such a great experience and would 100% recommend coming in. Don't buy anything here if you are not totally sure you want to keep it. I purchased two items of lingerie. I returned them, never worn, only tried on in the store. They were for a photo shoot that I never got to do because I got sick Almost 400.00 I spent on lingerie. Probably silly of me to begin with to spend that much, but I thought afterwards I could wear them for a special occasion. I usually do not wear these types of items so I figured I could at least get my money back after my event fell through. I went in to Trousseau's today, a nice girl waited on me close to closing time. I still had the tags on one, the tag was off on the other so she went back and spoke with the general manager and came back out and said she had pled my case and it was ok to return them. I thought I was receiving a refund on the almost 400.00 worth of merchandise but when I checked my account after I returned home and there was no credit I called back to the store right away. I was told the store only allows you to return items for a store credit. They do not give any types of refunds, except for store credits. No cash, credit cards, anything. If I would have known that I would have kept the items and sold them outright on marketplace or something and at least got some of my money back. Even though the store credit is good forever, I hardly ever shop here so more than likely I am just out 400.00. Trousseau's has beautiful items but I had not gone in there for a long time because their prices were so high. Now this. I won't be buying anything from this store anymore. I would encourage everyone to be careful. The fine print at the bottom of the receipt. Make sure and read carefully. You will not be getting any money back from this store. Just a store credit. The small town advantage is definitely slowly going away. I understand times are rough right now but things like this need to posted. I have tried this place twice because the first time I waited for 45 minutes and wasn't off the waitlist to get sized and had to leave. They have a good selection of bras (though not sizes - more in a sec), which is the only good thing I can say. I've lost a lot of weight and needed to be sized so I came back and waited about 40 mins this time. The first girl to size me doesn't pay any attention to my size and brings me a bra that's easily 4-5 sizes too small in the cup and tells me to try it on. Then I have the humiliation of showing her half my boob doesn't fit. She blames it on how my original bra looked which didn't make sense. I keep asking her for advice and she just keeps saying that it's my personal preference. Finally I ask for someone else. With the next person, it becomes clear that they don't have almost any bras in my size (very small band and large cup) and are trying to get me to like the only bras they have in my size, versus trying to find me bras that actually work for me (ie they gave me a strapless bra with silicon around it despite me looking for an everyday bra and tried to convince me I could wear it all day). When I finally called them out, the second woman admitted they just didn't have many of that size. Then she told me a size - which was different from the size of the last bra I had just been put in and was told fit - and walked out. If you have average size breast and have a clear idea of what you need AND an hour to wait, this place may be for you. But if you are anything bigger than a D, look elsewhere. read more

Several years ago, following a bilateral mastectomy & reconstruction, I needed help finding bras that would fit the "new me." Thought I was well taken care of & purchased a few bras. After wearing 1, I realized it was uncomfortable & couldn't wear it. Knew it was probably difficult to fit someone correctly after my surgeries. Went back to store to exchange it & return the others. Was told there were NO returns or exchanges under ANY circumstances. I was in tears, asked to speak to the owner. She came to speak to me & said there were no exceptions to the store's policy. While I was standing there crying - very emotional due to my cancer & surgeries - she told me if I didn't leave the store immediately, she was going to call the police to have me removed. I had no choice but to leave. Afterwards, I wrote a letter to her, stating how disappointed & devastated I was. I told her I was going to donate the bras as I couldn't use them. As expected, I never heard from her. I know this was years ago but I've never forgotten the experience. At the time, the store didn't have a website & there was no way to publicly explain my story. I'm really sad to be giving this place such a bad review, but feel the need to warn my fellow yelpers about my experience. I came in for a first visit in March 2022, nervous as I had never been to a professional bra fitting store before. This visit was 5 stars, if I could have given more I would have. Christiana Niosi helped me and she was amazing! I immediately felt at ease. She was warm, kind, reassuring, and asked me permission every time she had to adjust me or touch me. I left after spending $430 worth in merchandise and am very happy to have bras that fit me properly, thanks to Christiana's help. The next month I called to order a few more bras I had my eye on, and for some reason there was a lot of confusion with my order and I went back and forth with the manager about my order and it was delayed nearly 2 months. When I finally went to pick them up when they were ready, I was really hoping to work with Christiana again to get the bras I purchased fitted and also try on swimwear. Christiana was not available as she was with another client, so she had me work with Celeste. There were a number of issues I had with Celeste--she was cold and didn't greet me or say hi. She just stared at the computer and didn't acknowledge my presence. When I asked her what was going on she said my items were being pulled in the back. I told her I wanted to get fitted for the bras I had plus also check out the swimwear and she said I'd have to wait. After a few minutes she had me go into a fitting room, and that was when she started to be cold and rude. After I put the first bra on, she didn't ask permission to touch or adjust the straps, and she plunged her hand down the bra, scraping her nails down my nipple and roughly grabbed my boob to fit it into the bra. It was really painful. I yelled that it hurt, and she had no response and no apology. For the 2nd bra, she continued to roughly handle me and when I told her that what she was doing hurt a lot, she still didn't apologize, but told me that I would have to do adjustments myself. I was shocked at this--I consider Trousseau to be an expert fitting shop and this is their job-- to be kind to clients in the personal space of being fit for intimate clothing. As a return client, I drove nearly 45 mins to visit the store, took time off of work and made arrangements to be away from my young kids, and having paid over $500 in merchandise previously - I was very upset with the mistreatment. We finished with the bras, and then moved onto swimwear, again having me do my own adjustments, including the clasp at the back. When I asked her a question, she said "I don't know, I have to go help another customer." This confused me because I thought that I was her customer too. I told her I wasn't wild about the swimsuit fit and she said that she liked it on me, and that all the rest of the swimwear would be the exact same. I was disappointed because it seemed like she was being dismissive and just wanted me out of there...so that was the end of the session. On my way out, I noticed that she treated the mailman and another customer the same way, so lack of quality customer service and professionalism is the norm for her but unfortunately reflects on the whole establishment. I have a decent network of girlfriends and was excited to share this new option but I am now discouraged to continue any business let alone refer anyone. I called and spoke to the manager the next day to recount my negative experience who noted she'd talk to Celeste. I hoped that Christiana is the standard and that Celeste was more of an anomaly. Due to my negative experience, I requested compensation of some sort (voucher or credit on my next purchase) for my negative experience but never heard from the manager again. There are other specialty bra fitting shops that I can take my business to such as Belle Mode Intimates in Fairfax but again this is sad as I really did have a great first experience in the store with Christiana and nearly 1.5 years later I still love the bras I purchased here. read more

I had to find a bra to go with a dress I'm wearing for a fancy occasion coming up, and I was a little intimidated to approach a lingerie store, but they were so warm and welcoming and didn't make me feel bad for not being fancy or wearing the wrong size bra, just measured me and brought me the right size and fit bra that instantly made my shoulders feel better (support!), my posture look better, and the dress looked perfect. I'm so grateful. I left with one very affordable bra, and will be returning. Having my teenagers fitted was an opinion from a Professional Fitter at Trousseau when they were developing. My daughters are now College/& looking for jobs. Needing new bras, we did it the right way. A visit to Trousseau. After a friendly quiet (fun) sizing w/ a young lady who they would LISTEN to they now have their size right. Some of their comments: "I had no idea I was this size", I've changed dramatically in size!! This looks & feels better; comfortable, (and I can say it was professionally done, didn't come from Mom. Now the bras fit!!! This visit & fitting raised their confidence level in under garments and their self esteem for sure. ~~Thank you ladies. To be honest, I did not have the best experience at Trousseau which is unfortunate since it is so convenient for me. I stopped in around 2 pm in the middle of the week and was put on a waiting list, which is fine because I know that lingerie is a personal experience that requires a lot of customer service. While I waited, I got a chance to look over the store which had a good selection of bras, swimsuits, hosiery, and underwear for every occasion. Much like Melanie O's experience, when I finally got around to my fitting, I felt very much like a throwaway customer that they were hurrying to get through. I got serviced but definitely did not get any warm, fuzzy feelings -- yet I watched many other customers get fawned over. I ended up purchasing three items and even the conversation with the cashier seemed off. I left with what I needed but my whole experience was very joyless. Next time I need to go lingerie shopping, I will go to my standby Le Bustiere in Adams Morgan where the women are wonderful, the experience is personalized, and will make you feel like a million dollars when you leave. read more

Today was my first experience at Trousseau's and it will not be my last. I was impressed by the service as well as how many different beautiful garments they carry and sizes they offer. Celeste helped me today find a bra that would accommodate a dress that I would be wearing in a little over a week. There were several factors, neck line, bust size etc that made this a challenging find. This did not deter Celeste, she even consulted with the owner at one point to ensure that we came up with a great solution. I did not mention to her that my time was limited, I needed to get to an appointment but I didn't want to put any extra stress on her. I won't blast which employee helped me, but I will say that your experience completely depends on the associate you get paired with to help you. Unfortunately I got paired with someone that didn't seem to care what I was even looking for and didn't even ask. She would leave the room so abruptly without even asking how I felt in each bra. Overall, I had a very negative and uncomfortable first experience. However, the girls in the fitting room across from me had an amazing associate and positive experience. This place is a gem! I always had issues finding the perfect fitting bra, been to hundreds of boutiques and stores, and finally found this place. Trousseau has every size, style, and color bra you can think of. When I entered, they took my temperature and I sanitized my hands (COVID time). Ally greeted us and asked what I was looking for and my size. I've been wanting new sports bras, but didn't know my size in them or which would fit my body type. So I just told her "sports bras" and she immediately started picking some out. She is AMAZING! I came in with an ill fitting bra, but that didn't stop her from figuring out my true size. She didn't even have to use a tape measure, she just knew my size! Ally made sure each bra I tried on was fitted properly and gave me her honest opinion on each. She was truly the BEST sales associate in the lingerie business I have ever met. She didn't try to put me in a smaller or bigger bra, she didn't try to sell me random bras or accessories, and she didn't make me feel uncomfortable. This was the best experience I've had in the past 15 years. Ally is very experienced in style and sizing. She gave me different sizes because of the style each bra was. This was new to me and very helpful because each bra fit different, but was the perfect size for the style! If you come here for lingerie, I 100% recommend Ally. She will treat you amazingly and have you walking out with the best fitting bras. I came here with one thing in mind: sports bras. I have been a Trousseau customer for many, many years. In Dec 2023, I was fitted for a bra. When I got home, I saw that the bra did not fit properly. I called the store and they said to come in when I was in town and they would alter it. Unfortunately, I did not get back to Vienna until yesterday - June 15 - 6 months after the initial fitting. After waiting 45 minutes for assistance, I was quickly scolded about the timing and told there was nothing they could do as it had been 6 months except possibly alter the bra. The salesperson looked at the bra on me and thought it would be a good idea to be condescending and teach me about breast tissue with an incredibly annoyed voice. She said there was no way to alter the bra to have it fit properly and implied that it was my fault. To add insult to injury, she then asked if I wanted them to fit me for a different bra. I shared that I had lost all trust in their advice and that I was no longer interested in being a customer. Trousseau is quick to sell you but lacks the professional service when a mistake has been made. No compromise or apology was made by the sales people. I wish after all these years I didn't have to write this, but my experience was incredibly disappointing and demoralizing from the moment I entered the shop. I'm so glad I found Trousseau. I hadn't bought bras in years and what I did have was falling apart because it's impossible to find certain sizes at department stores, and often staff don't know anything about fitting. The people at Trousseau know their stuff. Bith times I've gone in, they've been extremely helpful and accommodating, and they've found me items that work without all the stress of stores where you're scrabbling through huge piles of bras looking for sizes and managing to knock everything off when you do. Short version: just go here. The bras aren't cheap, but it's wonderful to finally have good-looking, well-fitting bras. read more

I am so disappointed, the service at this place has really gone downhill. I have shopped here for nearly 2 decades, however I hadn't been back since Covid because I moved across the country. I was SO excited to shop here again now that I'm back living in the area. During my recent visit staff seemed distracted and aloof, gossiping at the front desk while me and another customer patiently waited to be called back for assistance. When I finally got called back the staff member would disappear for unusually long periods of time between checking back. I was given a bra to try for sizing, then waited and waited, then she came to see what styles I was looking for, then I waited and waited, when she brought the selections for me to try on she disappeared again and was gone so long that I decided to not wait around to try more options and took my intended purchase to the front to check out. I had been there for 45 minutes at this point and needed to get going. She finally reappeared from the back as I was browsing one last item and rang me up. Ok fine, could have been worse but not the service I remembered. What was very weird was that staff gave huge pushback and argued about returning an unopened/unused pair of tights. They were petty about it and literally went to get a pair from the shelf to compare packaging because they initially were trying to claim the tights were opened and used, which is a little crazy because it would be painfully obvious if I had worn the tights and tried to return them. And this is just for store credit, I was within the guidelines of returns listed on the receipt. Not sure what that was all about, but what a headache. It is a priority for me to shop small businesses and I have really loved shopping at Trousseau since high school so I hope they get their act together. read more

Just went into Trosseau for the very first time looking to buy sports bras and every day bras. Walked around a bit to get the layout of the store then went to the desk and spoke to the owner and asked for some help regarding sports bras she pointed me to a wall and said that the sports bras were next to that wall, which in reality, they were behind the wall She pointed to. Found some items of interest, then went back to the desk to see if they carried my size. The girl asked me if I had my name on file, and i replied I do not. She said i should put my name on file then get fitted. She said she would get someone to help me. As i stood there waiting for her to return with the help she promised, another customer walked in, this same girl went to her and said she would help her and walked away leaving me standing there. No one approached me and offered help. Absolutely the worst customer service i have ever experienced. I then put the merchandise back i wanted to buy. Meanwhile there's two or three girls just standing around doing absolutely nothing. So I did with any respectful consumer does, I left, never to return. Every time I walk into Trousseau it's like walking in to see my best gal pals. I've never had a bad experience. NEVER. I'm a 34G and before my boyfriend discovered this building I was being squeezed into uncomfortable, ill fitting D's by Victoria's Secret "fitters." There is no substitute for a proper fitting bra. The thing that sets Troesseau apart is that they understand not all people with breasts have the luxury of comfort AND cute/sexy lingerie and they fill that need. I currently own several very cute pieces from them (a few sets, two MUCH NEEDED sports bras and a few t-shirt bras). They were worth every penny and last a LONG time. I purchased my first sports bra and lace set from them about a year ago and they have no signs of wear. No bent clasps, no ripping, no strap stretching. Yes, you will be paying for the quality. But you won't be hating yourself five months later. Oh! I didn't mention the best part! Besides keeping all of your information in their computers for future use (they adjust this as you gain or lose size anywhere), they also treat you with respect and dignity. No one cares if you have a back roll. No one cares if you have a tummy. The amount of comfort I have with all of the women there is unrivaled. Also, as a black woman, I was worried they'd look down on me. I've had it happen in higher end places before (always before I whip out some cash). Never ONCE did I get the feeling they were judging me or putting some stereotype on me. That matters, it was nice and I don't feel bad dropping $400 dollars a trip. So, TLDR: great customer service, you feel taken care of. Amazing quality in their amazingly varied pieces. It's a kiki every time I pop in. Your boobs will thank you, trust me. read more

Listen, I typically wear Walmart or target bras because I don't really care all that much but I had a friend recommend I get fitted here and wow....I feel silly because I was wearing a bra two sizes too small. She gave me constructive feedback and then started pulling different options, all of which fit beautifully, ranging from $85 to $165. I fell in love with almost everything Allison bought but had to limit myself because they also have a large selection of cute pajamas, which I also needed. Other items outside my shopping agenda: lingerie, bridal accessories, body shapers. Allison created a file for me to track what I bought so I won't have to start from scratch when I need another new bra. I felt safe shopping there because the store is practicing good COVID hygiene. I debated whether I would write a review of this place, but eventually made the decision to do so. After what I experienced yesterday, Friday August 6th, and after reading a few reviews, I decided to write about my experience. My friend orders bras from this place because according to her there are a variety of bras in her size. She invited me to come along with her to pick up an order she had placed a while back. When we arrived, my friend informed the store associate she was picking up her order, but wanted a chance to look around. As my friend and I browsed and chatted, I asked a sales associate about a particular bra that accommodates backless dresses. The associate was polite and led me to the area where I could find such a bra. She then advised me to get fitted to ensure I have the right bra size. The associate then asked, "Do you want to be put on the waiting list?". Which meant putting your name on a list and then waiting around in the store until an associate is available to size you. I was a little puzzled because it appeared to be several sales associates walking around the store not assisting anyone. Nonetheless, the sales associate put my name down on the "list" to get fitted. As my friend and I wait for my name to be called, we continue to browse the store. After a long while, another woman behind the counter offered to check me out but I explained I'm on the "list" to be fitted. She didn't attempt to help me, but continued working behind the counter. A little while later, another woman walks into the store. The sales associate goes through the temperature check and hand sanitizer requirement and then asks the woman if she needed help. The woman emphatically said, "yes I do need help with bra fitting". The sales associate responded she would put her name down on the "list"; but, there would be a 20 minute wait. After waiting for a long while without being called, I got tired of walking around and decided to sit down. What happened next shocked me. The woman whose name was on the "list" after mine was called back to be fitted after waiting 10 minutes. I went to a sales associate, who was one of several just walking around, and stated, "I've been waiting for a while to be sized and the woman who came in well after me is already being fitted". The associate went to check the "list" and came back and told me, " I'm sorry you were skipped, but it will just be another 5-10 minutes." I told her no thank you, I put everything back where it went and walked out of the store. Apparently customer service is not a priority and my experience was unacceptable. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, maybe 1 out of the 5-6 people working there knows how to measure bra sizes but there's no excuse for "skipping" me. My gut tells me the priority is to a certain race of people. It was astonishing. If the experience had yielded better results, I would have made recommendations and even asked members of my bridal party to check out the place. However, I won't be back nor will I recommend it. Based on my experience and other reviews, if you are a person of color I would think twice about going. read more
