Kirk transferred our decade old media from analog to digital format in such professional and friendly way! Why Lotus Media? Because is the perfect alternative to either department store services or industrial processing mills. In my case, it was an even better alternative to local stores. That is why I decided to send them my first 50 tapes of all sorts. The tapes were processed over the weekend. The video and sound, delivered via google drive and USB device, was of excellent quality and right format. MP 4 is now the norm in most, if not all video transfers. Some tapes needed repairs in order to be played. Kirk fixed those old tapes too. I was able to provide relatives around the world with the right google drive link. Immediately, they had access to long ago forgotten images. The grownup children's baby talk, special moments with the departed, the reaction from everyone was fantastic. When I realized that the video must be edited, Kirk provided both, in house help and DIY advice, from software needed to DVD burning tips. We are so happy to have found Lotus Media and so thrilled with the results! I have been trying to get about 10 years of mini-DV tapes onto disc or hard-drive for a few years now. In the process I bought a couple video cameras on eBay, bought FireWire cords, and spent a lot of time but was never successful in converting any mini-DV tapes into digital files. Other options seemed very expensive but we were ready to consider biting the bullet on cost when we discovered Lotus Media. What a find! Not only was the cost significantly better than other options but the service was outstanding, the process was fast, and the results were fantastic. Reading reviews and horror stories about some of the other options out there made us very cautious and anxious about entrusting our only copies of very precious family videos to some of these companies. But, all of the stellar reviews of Lotus Media and the ability to hand-deliver our tapes (since we live in the same region) eased our fears. The only small issue was that we couldn't see 3 of our 28 tapes in the Google Drive location when we first looked. After an email to Kirk he quickly responded with an apology and promptly uploaded the missing tapes. I highly and without reservation recommend Lotus Media. Kirk did a fabulous job copying our family's VHS tapes. I'm very pleased that my three grown kids now all have complete copies of their childhood recordings. We bought a VHS camera in 1987; over the following 14 years taped all sorts of family vacations, holidays, kindergarden graduations, new baby, Cub Scouts, 4H, dog shows - all the top moments of our kids growing up. Those dozen tapes sat in the garage gathering dust for a decade plus. Recently I was told VHS tapes degenerate over time (I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed); decided to do something about it. Found Lotus Media after a brief Google search. Kirk did a GREAT job - fast, inexpensive, high quality. He said he'd copy into whatever media I wanted, but I'm clueless, so I followed his recommendation. He made two flash drives, each "holding" all our tapes, and 12 DVDs (one tape each) at Mr. Dinosaur's request. I easily/cheaply copied the flash drives, passed out the copies to family. Highly recommended. Lotus Media is an excellent, professional digitization service. After years of procrastinating I finally got my taped media together to be digitized. If it weren't for the help and support of Kirk/Lotus Media walking me through some of the questions and concerns I had it may have taken me another decade to get it done. I had some VHS tapes, VHS-C and some audio cassettes transferred, including a mini-cassette from an answering machine that has become a real treasure. My "footage" was rather mundane, but the ordinary becomes extraordinary when it's personal. It's all in a format that I can easily import to iMovie and edit for the magic. I'm very pleased. I found an 8mm reel in some old family photos about 8 years ago. It belonged to my grandfather who died in 1970. I finally got around to having it transferred to a DVD this year and was planning to give it to my mother for Christmas. She has been very curious about what lived on the reel. Last night I watched the DVD and was blown away to see that the footage was of my mother's first Christmas! She was 7 months old in 1948. It was clear that my grandfather was the DP as I saw images of my grandmother, great grandmother, great aunt & uncle and all of my mother's cousins (but sadly not him). I'll be giving this to my mother tomorrow as one of her little Christmas gifts. She is going to LOVE THIS! We now have a new family heirloom that we can treasure for years to come. A few years ago I took on the ambitious mission of converting my family's VHS tapes. But after pricing how much it would cost, I put it off. Finally the time had come, we are throwing my grandmother a big birthday celebration and I needed some of those tapes converted so that I could make a tribute video. I went back to the drawing board, pricing how much it would cost and how long it would take (I was/am on a major time crunch) - after an exhaustive search I found Kirk and Lotus Media! Not only does he convert VHS, but he will put it on a flip drive or the internet server of your choosing. Everyone else I found would only convert to DVD - and they charged a small fortune for it! First went to walgreens to transfer vhs to dvd.... So after 3 weeks of waiting, I get they couldn't do it. Whatever. I searched and saw lotus media. In Washington and gave them a message. Response was no problem we will make it happen. Sceptical of sending only one copy of a memory to a business, but gave it a shot anyways. Got an email a couple days later stating they got the package and a day later got a message all done. Whoa! That was surprisingly fast. I was thinking there had to have been a problem. Got an invoice, in a separate email, I paid it, got a receipt and a tracking number. Got the package, opened it up. And to my surprise.... Dvds . Popped it into dvd player and there was the memories. My collection of VHS tapes has sat in the corner for years--too expensive to pay to convert them, but too much time to do it myself. Having researched recently, the big companies still charge an arm and a leg. Kirk, on the other hand, had great reviews, was local, and seemed like a much better value as well. It turns out all of those things are true! Kirk is incredibly prompt in replying to any questions, turns jobs around very quickly, and gives numerous options for drop-off and pickup. I even asked if he could extract the files from numerous floppy disks I had in the corner (though he doesn't list anything about floppies on his website), and he was happy to do it at a nominal charge. I highly recommend Kirk for VHS conversions to files or DVDs and I would assume for any other service he provides as well! read more

I inherited a large number of family photos dating back to the early 1900s that I wanted to digitize. There were several companies in the local area that could do the job, and I chose Lotus Media based on their excellent reviews, friendly and helpful staff, and reasonable prices. I was able to drop off and pick up the photos at their location, so there was no shipping involved. The turnaround time was better than expected, and the quality of the digitized photos was great. Even the photos that were faded or dark with age were clear -- some of them better than the originals. Downloading them from Google drive was simple. Highly recommend! I originally went to Costco, but they could only give me a DVD that I had difficulty ripping. I wanted the files so I could save them and back them up and share them online, etc. Come on, DVDs? Kirk was so convenient -- he turned around my 3 VHS and 1 8mm tapes within a couple of days. Quality was great, and he put the files right onto an external hard drive I provided to him. Kirk was exactly what I was looking for. The ideal situation would have been to have a friend who had the equipment and knew how to transfer my videos. Someone who could do it the way I wanted it done rather than a mass service like Costco. I have used Lotus Media to capture very old 8mm movies, 8mm analog camcorder tapes and MiniDV camcorder tapes. The results have all been excellent. The 8mm movie digital quality is very good. The service has quickly completed all my orders. During the Thanksgiving break, the lab was closed for many days. My tapes were digitized before the break but the return service was scheduled for 10 days later. They were kind enough to upload my files to the cloud so I could download the files to continue my work and not have to wait until after the holiday break. I needed a VHS digitized on very short notice, so I called Lotus Media having found them on a Google search. Met Kirk at the dropoff location in Bellevue - good communication for the pick up. The job was completed much faster than expected (dropped it off at 7 PM and it was ready by the next morning on Google Drive). They even completed a second VHS tape that was not a rush order in the same time frame. Their prices are great and I don't think I could have gotten this done quicker anywhere else. The quality of the work was as good as one could wish (for 30 year old VHS tapes). I will be digging through my camcorder tapes and sending them some more business. read more

When I was a teen we had a box of tapes and photos in our basement with all our family photos and home movies. There was a flood and all were lost. Seeing the box of VHS-C tapes stuffed into my closet last week, I realized something needed to be done, and thought this would make a perfect Mother's Day gift to my wife. I had a bunch of old VHS-C and VHS tapes I needed converted and discovered Lotus through a local neighborhood website. I wanted computer-file only and not a DVD, since it's so easy to share online now. Kirk was perfectly fine with that and it worked out splendidly. When he was done I was able to save a copy to my hard drive from his website and then upload it to my free online storage account to share with others (they can download or play the file right in their browser!). The quality is exactly the same as the original tapes. As a bonus, since he creates mp4 files, I can simply burn my own DVDs directly if needed later. read more

Our family decided as a Christmas gift to ourselves, that we would get our 60 tapes of home movies digitized. Our # 1 daughter discovered Lotus Media on Google and we went with it . We couldn't be more happy with the results. The digital quality is just as good as the originals. The drop off and pick up was easy. Although we didn't get the tapes to Lotus until the 18th of December, they were completed before Christmas! It was nerve-wracking to send away dozens of precious home videos (with no extra copies), but LM took great care of them! I did an incredible amount of research on having my 71 old, mixed size video tapes digitized. Mailing 71 tapes across country was not an option, and I wanted the whole lot (314 hours!!) transferred onto one portable hard drive in the chronological order in which they were taped. Lotus (Gina) worked with me to do the exact format I wanted, and it was great quality, locally done (no mailing away tapes), I got the finished product and 3 copies in less than 2 weeks for the best price of ANY other digital transfer company. I was looking to get 114 - 8 mm tapes converted to a digital format. I sent an email requesting a quote and delivered the tapes the same day for conversion. The project was completed in 5 days! Quality is excellent. This was the only company that would convert direct to digital. All others I contacted would transfer to DVD only. It was absolutely the best price by far.
