I so wanted to give this place 4 stars. Overall this is a nice library still even after its been in the neighborhood for the past decade or two. There's actually a decent amount of parking here in the lot or on the street. The library is clean and well maintained. But there's a but...so here are my issues. Granted it might of been just the day I went there. The noise, granted school was out, and I guess I hit the prime time of young kids reading time, because there was lots of activity from the 4 and under crowd, filled with a few meltdowns. There didn't seem to be a lot of space to sit, I came to work. It was my telework day but due to some other issues at my place I needed to vacate, and I thought the library would be a good option (I only stayed for an hour). They have little cubby areas where its first come first serve. I got to the library an hour after they opened and they were all occupied. Granted there was a 2 hour limit on these rooms and clearly that limit wasn't enforced and I just really didn't want to be that person to kick someone out of that space. On the plus side they have wifi. I doubt I'd try my luck again teleworking from here due to the noise, it was rather distracting. But overall still a nice library.

We love our new local library. We especially like the unlimited rental for books, movies, DVD.

I used to prefer other libraries over this one until I saw the abundance of quiet study rooms they have (8 available, 4 times as much as Ashburn).

There's two rows of public use computers right as you enter the front doors, and ample tables for reading/working. Being a regional branch as well, they also offer more book options and resources for residents. Although located across a police station, I was surprised to see such a heavy presence of officers in the library (right as you enter and making rounds about the library itself). BATHROOMS The bathrooms aren't the cleanest, and when I visited, men entered the women's bathroom to use as well. PARKING There is ample parking available in the lot, and there's never a lack of spaces. It can get littered (we saw a couple condoms scattered about the lot).

The classes are great, but some of the librarians take their role as facilitator of the class too seriously; they're more like dictator of the class. I get needing structure and rules, but it becomes a problem when you can't even hold the kids attention because you're spending 5 minutes going over "rules" that can be summed up into "sit on your bottom and put on your listening ears.

I love how accessible this library is for walkers and bikers in the town of Herndon. You can enter from the bottom floor or the second floor from the outside. The bottom floor has conference rooms, a foyer with seating, local bulletins, and the Maker Lab. The top floor is where there's a huge communal quiet room with dividers for individual studying, the books, and computers. I would recommend chatting with any librarian here to find out everything the library has to offer. It is a LOT. I am a fan of the Maker Lab.

We were new to the area and it wasn't hard to get a library card. Initially we went to the help desk and were redirected to the check out counter. Once we gave them basic info like a piece of mail with our address and phone number we were able to get library cards and info about the Libby application for ebooks, audiobooks and magazines. New in 2022 there is also Kanopy, an on-demand streaming video service. Each account is assigned 5 "play credits" per month. There were a decent number of international and indie titles to choose from. Overall the library is smaller than others I have been to but it seems cozy. There seems to be a regular board game meetup that meets downstairs on Saturday. You should show up earlier rather than later from the specified time range though since after they form groups and start playing it may be harder to join in on a game until one group finishes their play session.

This library absolutely hits!…read more Granted, I've never made it past the children's book section but that only means there is so much for me to explore. This library is a grand two levels and is open on Sundays which makes this a great way to spend a rainy day weekend. The librarians are SO friendly and their selection of new children's books and graphic novels is vast. My family and I are avid bookstore goers and library visitors but for some reason we always find new things to read here. They have several study rooms and conference rooms available. We had a Girl Scout meeting that involved a bunch of printing and research needs -- their online reservation system made it so easy to book. It's prime Fairfax City location makes this a great place to run a bunch of errands at once. I recommend grabbing a book and reading at the Layered cafe next door for the ultimate cozy day treat.

There's also a lot of seating downstairs and upstairs. I also adore all the plants they have on display. It's giving cozy vibes all around for all types of patrons.
