I needed my wax seal replaced on a 2 year old toilet. The teck did so and replaced all the parts in the new toilet and then went to another toilet and replaced a part that I had bought for future use, I was charged $400 for this service that I use to do myself. Unfortuately I am elderly and a disabled vet. Don't ever use L.e crooks. I noticed Lou places his a in St. Brendens Church Bulletin. I wonder how many of his RC friends he has cheated. Had a leak at the water meter. Sam came out, got right to work. had to get a little creative to fix what turned out to be a previous repair. While he was here I had a hose that wouldn't come off the bibb. he tried to remove it a couple of ways and finally we had to replace the hose bibb. Frontline Insurance required I replace 3 supply lines and a toilet shut off although none were leaking. Lou's came out and replaced them aall and even broke off the pipe to the shut off that required cutting into the wall. They of course charged me for all this time and expense ($351). I have used Lou's for year. This time the came out for the leak in bathroo. Assumed they fixed apparently it was the tub drain great. $205perfect. Then they call and say oh the first guy couldn't get the faucet off because screws were rust so we want send another guy out who is the expert. Ok how much is that and I was under the impression I was already good to go and I've used the shower. Do she says oh just service fee. Ok do you know the 2nd visit was 280.00 they took my old faucet off replaced a cartridge and put my old faucet back. Somehow that took 1.5 hours and I should pay yet another 280.00. Lou's plumbing provided great service to get to the bottom of our lack of hot water. We recently purchased our home, which had a new hot water heater. Since we couldn't be present for the home inspection, we trusted Mike, with Home Exam to do a professional home inspection. Unfortunately, he missed some important issues with our home, including no hot water. Once we called Lou's plumbing, who came to our home twice, they brought two plumbers the second time to ensure they would have two professionals to get the job done. After having no water for three months, they found the problem and we now have hot water in our kitchen and bathrooms. We would highly recommend Lou's Plumbing. I paid over $350 for them to auger a partial obstruction believed to be a root, tighten a loose toilet and replace a nut under the kitchen sink... the 2 small jobs were done very quickly and nicely, however just 10 days after the guy pulled out a small clog which was not the root material, both my toilets stopped completely yesterday after a larger than usual amount of tp was used. I called back and was told it was probably the septic system, call and ask and that she (Lou's secretary) would ask the owner about coming back out to fix the problem... I called Woody's septic service and the lady agreed with my thoughts that since there was no sewage backing into the shower and no bubbling in the toilet that is was indeed a plumbing issue and not a septic tank issue. I called Lou's plumbing back today and was told that they would come back out if I wanted to pay again.... I hardly think 2.5 hours garners $370 without the proper result. I was told that "since the toilet was working when the worker left the job was done"...the toilet wasn't having a problem...I was also told that since the guy wrote "pull and reset toilet" that it doesn't matter what was said on the phone or why I hired them, he did his job. Don't get me wrong, the guy who came out was nice and professional, but after hearing excuse after excuse and the job I requested not being done as requested I can not speak well of the company. read more

I used Lou's Plumbing when I first moved into Daytona Beach. My need were simple and I was given a quote. A simple job of extending some water spouts wound up costing me $350.00. There work had to be redone and I paid $90.00 for the repairs. I was told that they would have charged $90.00 for the original work. Might be ok if all you need is something basic and you don't feel I like doing it yourself. Would NOT recommend them for anything more complicated than basic plumbing repairs. First, despite advertising on their website to call for a quote they refuse to provide one; not even a range. Should've been a sign they don't know what they're doing. Any company that's done kitchen installation for more than a few months would be able to provide a price range for a basic kitchen installation. Second, it took a good 4 hours to do and the guy left for over an hour in the middle of the job. Then he took payment and left w/o even securing the sink to the countertop; just left it resting there w/o clips or silicone. So of course once I realized it I had to have them come back out again to do the job correctly. Never did apply the clips either. Well, he installed one that isn't actually clipped to anything. Added bonus, he drilled an extra silver dollar sized hole in my cabinet wall w/ nothing running through it and my faucet wobbles like crazy. Five hours and $512 later, not real thrilled. Won't use them again. Side note, I don't recommend Total Comfort either. Equally as terrible but might be a bit cheaper at least. read more

no way to say how horribly and rudely I was treated by the owner of Lou's Plumbing, He actually said I caused the new toilet seat to break because I am fat. The installer had left the new installation too jiggly and within one week, the new seat was demolished. I asked about rubber bushings or rubber washers, but was totally dismissed. THE CITY OF DAYTONA RECENTLY PUT A ORANGE HANGER ON MY DOORKNOB. they said their meter showed my residence using water 24 hours daily. according to their meter i used 100 gallons in one hour when no one was home. after rechecking several readings and getting erratic readings, i called lou's plumbing. they sent plumber matt out immediately. he checked all my plumbing. said my only problem was the goofy inaccurate meter the city installed in 2017. It shows me using several times the water i'm actually using. he wrote a nice narrative i showed the city repair guy. they're coming out monday morning to correct meter problem and troubleshoot system. They gave me a ballpark estimate over the phone and the actual price was very close to the ballpark estimate and the price was reasonable. The service was fast and friendly. I called to have a leak located and repaired as it had soaked and ruined a carpet. I took out the back of my closet wall to see where the water was coming from but as there was several pipes in a very narrow place I couldn't tell which pipe was leaking. A plumber from Lou's came out and he couldn't tell which pipe was leaking either as all but one pipe was unreachable. He called Lou and evidently was told what to check and what to do. Whatever he did didn't fix the leak. The wall of my house which is cement block was knocked out large enough for him to check pipes. He cut a pipe he thought was the one leaking (it wasn't the one) and replaced some of it with a copper pipe. He thought that would fix the leak and was about to leave and I checked and saw water was still coming out! He then knocked out some more wall and when he stuck his hand in he discovered the leak was coming from the one pipe that was reachable from the back of my closed! He then said he could either have to dig up the floor and replace pipe or go to Home Depot and get a pipe clamp and put on it. I opted for that. So the large hole in my cement block house had to be fixed. Lou said that would be $300 in addition to the $585.04 I was charged for all the unnecessary stuff he had already done. The man that fixed the $300 hole said there was no charge-they always fixed holes they had made. But he came right back in after he got to his truck and found out there was a charge of $300. I called and spoke to Lou and he said I agreed to pay the $300, which I did but after the man that fixed the hole said they don't charge for fixing holes they make in houses I was really mad and don't think I should have been charged that $300. I won't ever use Lou's again. I have some other jobs I need done but after paying them almost a thousand dollars for a small leak that could have been fixed with a cheap pipe clamp and putting a large hole in my outside wall I would never recommend them. read more

I called to set an appointment and was told can I call you back in 5 minutes. An hour later no call back so I called again. The receptionist said sorry we are busy. Apparently they are only interested in big jobs. I needed help with several small things around my house like broken shower handle, low water pressure in kitchen sink, caulking and grouting around tubs and showers. "Tony" called me back to describe these issues and his tone clearly projected they are not interested. He was rude and obviously not worried about bringing work in. I cancelled my appointment. Hope to find someone who is more helpful. And doesn't have such a rude demeanor. It's too bad. I had a very good experience with Lou's a couple of years ago. But things there have changed. read more

Top Shelf Service is what you get when you use Lou's Plumbing. They have been taking care of my plumbing needs for over ten years. The very first time I used their services, I picked them at random. I live out of town and a received a call from a neighbor about our weekend house. She stated water appeared to be "pouring" out from under my garage door and down my driveway. I was alarmed and not on site to assess the situation, I knew I needed to get a plumber there quickly. I selected Lou's since they had an Ormond address and gave them a call. It was an Easter Sunday and I wasn't sure I would reach anyone and if I did, I was worried about when they could come, how much whatever the problem was would cost for repair, and then, of course, any weekend surcharges. My call was taken by the owner. He immediately put me at ease and said he would drive over to take a look at the problem. Within two hours I received a call back. My water heater had blown, but Lou turned off everything and said he would return the following day with a replacement water heater that he would install. He quoted me a reasonable price (for this situation I would have paid double!) and let me mail him a check. When my husband and I returned to the house two weeks later, everything was in perfect order. In the world of home repairs, It is not often that I have the opportunity to work with someone who takes pride in their work, keeps their word, does what they say they will do, when they say their will do it and charges you a fair price for very good work. But that is what happened that Easter more than 10 years ago. Subsequent to that visit, I have always used Lou's Plumbing for any emergent and non-emergent plumbing needs. They never disappoint. Very impressed from the time I called to set up an appointment (with receptionist) to the plumber that arrived to complete the job. Though he was a little delayed, to be expected when you have some jobs that take a little longer. Once he arrived he was very quick to fix the problem and do it well. He was very professional. He even showed me how to immediately look for a water leak in the system just by watching the meter. Price was about right for my job. After initially telling me they were backed up for a couple days they called back and said Lou would be coming out himself to take care of it. Called them to clear a drain, they said it would be $99/hr and usually takes an hour, then the charged nearly $500. What a ripoff!!!

Although their website claims they do "free estimates," they charge $98 for a service call to come out and look at the work and cover the first hour. They insist that telling their hourly rate on the phone, though with no estimate of how long the job would take IS an estimate! Plus they also made sure to mention that if they broke my shower valve during the work that they wouldn't be liable for that or the extra labor and repairs that would be needed from the fact that they would then have to tear out the whole wall. So my estimate is $98 up to infinity, I guess? read more

Over the weekend our hot water heater started to leak from the bottom pipe. We called one plumber but they never called back so we decided to lump along till Monday. I then preceded to call Lou's because they had 25 hearts on our neighborhood line. I talked to Anthony and there were 10 calls in front of me, so now at least I had talked to someone that was going to help us. They called me several hours later and said they would be their soon. They sent an angel... Jeremy. We have an unusual situation because our A/C and Hot Water Heater work together. It didn't throw Jeremy he went right to work. The Copper piping he put in for our Hot Water heater should be in the Plumbing magazine. The quality of his work was superb. A+ all the way. Garage looked great when he left. I used this company for a repair of a value on my water heater. I actually was in the garage, watching the worker. He put on the value within the first 45 minutes and then said it was the wrong kind-moving on to replace it with another and add another 45 minutes to the bill. It was REALLY interesting when I asked how much he said about $200, I asked where the bill statement was and he said just make it for about $175. I truly believe this company does it's best to rip off the general consumer. read more

Always thought they were #1 but Plumber came out yesterday to replace front faucet, garage overflow valve; bathtub faucet valve. Didn't wait long enough for glue to dry. Had to call office to have him back. He returned used jackhammer gadget to drill out big holes in the garage wall to add more plastic pipe, more glue, went up and over (really only needed more glue and time) and left it that way. Then didn't put back on Vacuum Breaker Backflow Valve on all my outside faucet on front one. Called back lady in office snippily told me he couldn't come back that day. They called next day and said he could come back at noon but the part would cost me $25.00; called All Florida Plumbing and the part is only $5.00!
