Okay, mistakes happen. I wasn't happy but they accommodated (after I told them I would not move the party because the invites were already sent and they contacted me 1 week prior). Then, we arrive at 2:45 (party was at 3). They said they would get our party host and get us to our space. At 3:00, guests started arriving and we were still waiting for our party host in the lobby. Mind you, still holding the cake and all our stuff to decorate, etc. I rejoined the line because I'm not waiting any longer at this point. Finally talk to someone at 3:04. And at that time, a girl walks in on her phone. Our party host . Then we get to our space and she couldn't find the light switch to turn on the lights, doesn't have the socks, doesnt have wrist bands, doesn't have the list of waivers, I could go on. The kids didn't get to play until like 3:45. Then they were called back for pizza and cake. And to top off the day, they made us leave at 4:30 as scheduled. I was embarrassed and pissed. I will mention to keep this story completely truthful, they gave us $60 off our bill of $300. Thanks..?

We used Top Flight Athletics for my Granddaughter's 6th birthday party. The owner was very nice and…read moreaccommodating. The parties are held indoors at their facility and have several 2 hour packages to choose from. The packages can include a bouncy house, 2 indoor mega slides, a Velcro wall and zip line. I opted for everything except for the Velcro wall. A freebie that's included with the party is a huge pit that is filled with squishy foam blocks. When the kids used the zip line it went directly over the block pit for a soft and fun landing. The facility was clean and large enough for the 15 plus kids that came to the party. They have an area set aside for decorations with plenty of tables. The party was a huge success and all of the kids had a blast. My granddaughter told us that she definitely wanted to have her next birthday party at Top Flight. While the packages are not inexpensive, everything that was included was certainly worth the price.

The lights extended through the whole common area and were a delight! We also went inside for a bit and saw some great displays. The fitness area was busy but there were many spaces for people to sit or have kids play while waiting on others. This is a great aspect of the community and we are so thankful for their commitment to providing concerts, activities and other community activities.

This rec center is an absolute beast. As someone who loves to work out at recreation centers and…read morehas been to many throughout her life, this one takes the cake as one of the cleanest, most modern, and largest. It has an indoor fitness pool, an outdoor pool (looks like mostly designed for families with kids), an ice skating rink, a huge weight lifting and cardio machine area, multiple group fitness rooms, and a full-sized basketball court (that they use temporary drapes to turn into multiple courts for pickelball or pick-up basketball). There's probably more I'm missing. I've never actually walked through the entire place. They have a ton of community and fitness programming for the area. From 8 to noon then 4 to 9 most evenings, they have different fitness classes going on. They aren't just your basics either. They have enough TRX bands to support TRX classes or some of their strength-based classes use workout areas they've had installed. They have lots of spinning bikes and classes the support them. I've never actually encountered any machine or part of the fitness center that didn't work. Everything is well-maintained, and I've never even encountered an empty cleaning spray bottle before. The biggest "issue" I've had is when the water tastes a bit off because the red-light says the filter needs to be replaced on the water fountain. Prices aren't cheap, but they aren't expensive either. When a yoga class elsewhere will cost me $40, it's only $11 here at Kettering. If you get one of their multi-class passes or a membership, it's even cheaper on a per-class basis. They have lots of kids camps and kids activities including some homeschooling group play classes and more. I haven't paid much attention to the kid things, but I know they have some! Great spread of bodies and ages here too. You'll mostly see older adults, and it's really refreshing to see a ton of different types of people instead of the college-aged adults. Everyone here is super friendly, and it's clear a lot of the community uses this place as a great place to see and hang out with friends while staying active. Huge parking lot, but if there's a lot going on (like a kid's hockey meet), there have been a few times I've been unable to find a single parking spot in this beast of a parking lot. Bathrooms are clean too.

We had heard about it from a friend and wanted to check out their all day crafting event. It was amazing! The spot is a renovated old pub now turned craft/music/hang out room geared toward events for the community. As we walked it the hallway opened up to the big room with various crafts happening at each table. The walls are a really fun brick with various unusual Decour and light atmosphere. It has the vibe of a very cool coffee shop or funky music venue. There is a Bar area where they often have snacks and Echo Effect items for sale Like T-shirts etc. We had reserved a space through Facebook Messenger ahead of time and thus went straight to the painting area. The event was relatively priced for the fun atmosphere and painting class we received. The teacher Dawn Adams did an amazing job taking her time to interact with everyone and giving us multiple options for each step. It was really relaxed so we were able to get up and get snacks go to the bathroom and come in and out during the training. They had stain glass, jewelry making, quilting and other things going on at different tables which was fun to check out as well. It was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon and we will definitely return. The best way to check out options is to go to their Facebook page and look at upcoming events. Next time will probably check out one of the cool new Shelbyville food spots to round out the event.
