After many bad reports from a nearby aquatic center that I was planning on attending, I had to…read morecancel my reservation there and find another spot for my monthly group trip. I ended up here and they were able to accommodate us at the last minute without any issues. The staff, from top to bottom, was amazing, very friendly and helpful. To the left of the Center, right off of the front parking lot is a picnic area with picnic tables and a very small plastic play structure. The Center has a huge parking lot that is more than capable of handling its visitors. Entering here is a bit different. Women enter through the left and men enter to the right. They both go through large changing rooms for their respective gender that feeds to the pool area. They have other family changing rooms available near snack bar and the splash zone. They also have a rack with life jackets on it that non-swimmers can use. You can also use your own puddle jumpers, but the little arm floaties are a no-go. You can not use flotation when going down the slide or on the diving board. The Center features a large Olympic sized pool that goes from 3.5 feet to about 5 feet. They also have a large spiral slide and a basketball rim. Just off of the large pool is a 12-foot deep pool that has a low and high diving board. My little loved the Splash Zone area, which is like a decent sized wading pool with a lot of water splashing and a large bucket that periodically pours down. Unlike the other pool area, the water here is heated. Both areas have low chairs that run along the pools and chaise lounge chairs around the area's perimeter and many of those chairs are under huge umbrellas that provide a lot of shade. You have to get their early or just be lucky to get one of those chairs in the shade. I saw people claiming theirs (and a bunch of other's) chairs as soon as the place opened, with any towel or article of clothing they had available. The Center has a very nice snack bar with some reasonably priced food items. There are a few picnic tables over there to eat or you can just take it back to your seat in the pool area, if you have one. The snack bar has pickles, candy, hot dogs, pizza, pop sickles, bread sticks, pretzels, slushies and much more. And like I said, at very reasonable prices. They have a double pop-up tent by the snack bar, with tables and chairs under it, that they use to host parties. It is not a very big area. If you are big balling, you can rent out the Center after hours. If you are looking to save some money, like me, you can buy a punch card, which has 10 punches and averages out to about $4.50 per punch versus $5. My little and her friends really, really liked this place and had so much fun. I do not mind driving out to Franklin to visit this place. It is more than worth the price of admission. I highly recommend checking this place out and look forward to coming back here soon.

I have been regularly going to this swimming pool since I was a child, and I have always loved it…read more Although most of the employees are teenagers, they are very friendly and do not bother you. Very clean place, and if you have kiddos they provide a free swim diaper + life jackets! There is an AMAZING kiddie swim area that's separate from the main pool, great for families with little kids! There is a concessions stand that is slightly overpriced but still satisfactory. They have two diving boards and a huge water slide, and the main pool itself spans from about 3 feet to about 6 feet deep. Perfect for all ages. I only give it 4 stars because today they did not play nearly as much country music as I would like on the speakers (LOL), And they don't really have enough space or chairs to accommodate for the amount of people who visit there. Also concessions is overpriced! Overall a fun place to spend the afternoon and it's 50x better than freedom springs!

Connersville has a really nice park that has something for everyone. Whether you like swimming,…read morebasketball, pickleball, tennis, or horseshoes, they have a place for it at Roberts Park. If you like watching your kids play on a variety of swings, slides, and climbing equipment scattered throughout the park, the have those here too! The park is a mature park with lots of shade trees that are greatly appreciated on days like the one I visited here. There are narrow roads that meander through the park since the place is quite large. On the south end near the aquatic center, there is an amphitheater for racing and some barns near there. I didn't see any horses during my visit, but I assume that the barns and track are for those. Must be a seasonal thing like the swimming and water slides. The park also has the Longwood Covered Bridge which was relocated here for preservation. There are a couple sculptures and a few plaques to commemorate bits of history tied to the park & Connersville. Generally, there are a lot of options for individuals. The only reason I didn't give this a five star review is that the park looks like it could use some attention. The tennis courts has cracks that have been sealed, but the scraggly white lines should have been painted over to match the court. Very distracting. Some of the older playground equipment could used a fresh coat of paint too. The garden area by the park admin building was in need of some trimming and the brick around the fountain could stand some work too. Little things, but they do separate an older park from one that has the latest features. A wish list would be a walking trail separate from the roads. I don't like having to continuously watch over my shoulder for vehicles coming up behind me, or having to walk through the grass when it's wet from dew. Otherwise, the park seems like a great place for specific activities. Review #1419

The kids area looked to be updated with a toddler slide, and the big slide was fast and fun!!! I will definitely be back. They are open even in the winter and it was a good day to go today because it was slightly raining out. 4 stars because they have a good court with nothing in it.

Eh -- Indy Island is OK. I'll start with the positives:…read more 1. There were always at least half a dozen lifeguards circling the perimeter of the pool and water area. They were constantly walking back and forth, checking things out, so I always felt like my kids were safe. 2. This indoor aquatic center is open year-round, so kids have a place to splash, wade and swim even when it's freezing outside. The day I visited, the water temperature was nice and warm, and the ambient air temp was just as inviting. 3. It's really inexpensive. Prices range from $4 to $6 dollars depending on age and the day you visit. Kids 2 and younger are free. 4. This is a small indoor water park, but it's big enough to have fun for hours. Now for the negatives: 1. This indoor water park is really old and in need of an update, and it shows. The playground structures in the water area are visibly rusted and look dirty. 2. The lock to the bathroom / changing room I was in DID NOT LOCK. It goes without saying that their changing rooms should have working locks. I had to stand by the door to block it, hoping that no one would try to come in! It also didn't have a trash can, for some reason. 3. The hallway to the changing room was super dark and didn't have any lights. Pretty much the last place you want to be changing in is a dark and creepy room. Fix the lightbulbs! This is another simple thing that could be fixed if they kept up the place. 4. They don't allow outside food or drinks inside the aquatic center. You can buy food and drinks at their snack bar, but when I was there (on a weekend), it was closed. Not sure what they expect visitors to do with a closed snack bar during operating hours. I like that Indy offers places like Indy Island so kids can enjoy swimming and playing in the water indoors. But this place is in need of some TLC in order to compete with some of the other indoor aquatic centers.
