Wesley was so instrumental in helping us think through the logistics of the day and offered valuable suggestions. All initial communications went through Jane, the contracts were super easy to read (including all specifications for the venue and day-of the event), and the payments were easy to make. Once we were assigned our DJ, our communication for the actual day of the event all went through her. DJ Mareshah did a great job and was incredibly kind and easy to work with! We had an introduction call to make sure that we both felt it was a good fit (it was!) and she had a similar taste in music to my now husband. We used the Stylus DJ Entertainment planning spreadsheets and were able to lay out the music for the entire event. She talked us through what types of songs we should be thinking about for each part of the event and we were able to take that information and put together a great list. In terms of vendor coordination, she coordinated directly with our venue vendors and planners for the arrival the night of the event. DJ Mareshah was able to get all of the songs that we requested to have on hand and did an incredible job with the logistics, formalities, and announcements. (We had a few moments uncommonly found in wedding receptions - like a choir singing and an icebreaker game.) She was able to maneuver easily between different types of songs throughout the event and found the types of songs that the guests enjoyed the most and was able to home in on those at the end of the night. AND it is run by a bad ass artist named Jane who is a musical genius on top of being a kind soul. Her and her staff care deeply about their work and the art they make. Collaboration: Jane was so intentional in our planning process in incorporating our musical perspective and opinions as we built playlists on playlists together for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception - shifting between genres and vibes. Simultaneously, I will say however, we could just simply give her a vibe like Goo Goo Dolls and Hootie & the Blowfish and she could create a welcome playlist that seemed to read our minds - deeply resonating with me and the songs I cherished from my family and childhood without me even having to list them for her. I still listen to this playlist at work and on runs because it so resonated with me. Art Form: Jane did it ALL, spinning vinyl, MC'ing, and digital DJ'ing. She spun vinyl for our colorful vinyl cocktail hour bringing her own cherished vinyl records to the wedding. The vinyl cocktail hour was a deep tribute to 80s rock/pop. To find someone who cared more for 80s rock/pop than I did I didn't think was possible - until I met Jane. She curated a cocktail hour that had our guests reminiscing on their past shouting "I LOVE ZEPPELIN." She spun surrounded by my paintings, and it was just art surrounded by art. She also MC'd our wedding in the most graceful and loving fashion, seamlessly transitioning us between dances and toasts. She ended the night digital DJ'ing the dance portion of our reception incorporating both my and my fiance's wide range of tastes from Rufus Du Sol to Marc Anthony. Overall Impression: This was not a good value for the money spent. Our daughter's wedding was not given any significant priority, even the month of the wedding. Note that Ms. Rhinehart, the owner of the business, works part-time in this business and full-time developing partyhosthelper.com. We were not privy to this when booking. Pros: * Day of Support good; the Planner worked long hours, even helped with clean up * Taping job for bride's wardrobe malfunction excellent, stayed in place * Help with bridesmaid's dress also very good * Flexible with some last minute/late changes (changing three lights to two on the tables, changing plans to attend the AA tasting) * Helpful in acting as the bride and groom's witness when they applied for their marriage license * Picked up favors and stored centerpieces for the bride Cons: * Planning missed a lot of important details throughout planning (wedding date, etc.); does not take notes at meetings * Did not feel like personal service as requested in the initial interview, not enough time with bride. The bride missed dates to do things because the Planner was not in regular touch with the bride. The MOB had to step in to actively plan the wedding. * Very difficult to contact except email, even to schedule a meeting which had to be during business hours * Vendor search limited to one vendor, even after MOB mentioned the one vendor did not work * Planner not flexible to redo the vendor search after COVID rescheduling (extra fee for this), resulting in MOB, bride doing their own vendor searches for some vendors * Not budget-oriented as requested in initial interview in terms of purchasing additional services, resulting in going over budget continuously with nearly every vendor hired * Forgot that we were out of town in planning the wedding * Did not receive payment notifications when things were due or adequate budget spreadsheets * Nearly all communications (mostly emails) left something to be desired, resulting in lots of wasted time for the MOB, FOB, and others * Lack of timely response to many inquiries * Knowledge of venue not adequate (overstated in initial interview) * The Planner did not know the correct order for a Jewish wedding (where they stand at the altar) and directed incorrectly. This resulted in bride's family not seeing her face on the video. * Suggested lots of add-on fees for things that should have been included even though we paid for the premium service plus extra for planning additional parties. * Two special requests from MOB (a search of more than one vendor for chairs and welcome bag assembly) were handled mostly by assistants, resulting in uneven results. * No support given for times the planner was not available (her honeymoon and maternity leave)

While the bride and groom live in Philly, both sets of parents are out of town, so this was a destination wedding for us and most of the guests. Thereby we knew we'd need very experienced "boots on the ground" to pull off the caliber of wedding we envisioned. We figured the best place to get verifiable wedding planner recommendations was to ask wedding coordinators at the venues toured: Lauren James Events was the first name suggested by most, and after our initial telephone conversation it was easy to see why. Jamie is delightful; knowledgeable, professional, experienced, well-connected, warm, and easy to talk to. Honestly, she left no stone unturned. Although our wedding was a year and a half out when we hired her, and in the beginning she had clients with more pressing needs than ours, we were always made to feel that we were a priority. Our wedding was on a holiday weekend and Jamie helped us to secure some of the city's most highly sought vendors promptly so we wouldn't be closed out. From the get-go, Jamie worked with us in establishing and organizing our parameters - number of guests, style of reception, and met with the bride and groom to talk about their vision and expectations. She listened so well that her recommendations always were spot on. She created meeting and planning timelines with our vendors, and maintained a meticulous spreadsheet of expenditures. She attended vendor meetings along with us, taking scrupulous notes, and worked with us to negotiate contracts. She advised us well as to where we should be spending money and did not hesitate to steer us away from the things we didn't need. She established wedding blocks at the most central hotels for out of town guests and kept track of the bookings, so we knew who was staying where. She also assisted in planning the other events for the wedding weekend. In the week leading up to the wedding we were talking several times a day to tweak additions, guest cancellations and ensure that everything we expected came to fruition. She produced welcome bags for out of town guests and delivered them to the hotels. She surprised the bride and groom by having their room upgraded to a phenomenal suite. When a few glitches arose that week (as they inevitably will), she resolved them and only afterward told us so we didn't have to stress over details. On the wedding day, Jamie never left our side - arriving in the bridal suite beginning early morning with the bridesmaids, orchestrating our hair and makeup people, the photographer and videographer, lunch delivery for everyone, rode the wedding trolley with the bridal party to the bride and groom's first look and off-site photo sessions, at the venue for formal photos, managed the catering staff and band so that the timing of everything ran smoothly. We actually had to beg her to take a break and eat dinner (I still don't think she ever did: we owe you dinner, Jamie!) . Throughout our entire process, she never once lost her cool and as a result, the bride and groom and their parents were able to relax and completely enjoy our family's special day, stress-free. Weddings are highly emotional occasions, but thanks to Jamie the only emotions we experienced were total elation and tears --of joy. It is truly money well spent, and we cannot thank her enough
