Many of the people I spoke to were really upset that we had to wait that long. Also in the event followers were talking about all the superficial materialistic gifts God gave them (Apple Watch, MacBook, car, $30k). Also we watched a video of the pastor driving a Ferrari. I was respectful and participated in ways I felt comfortable. Anyways when I refused to go to the front to get blessed, 3 of the churchgoers were forcing me to go up. Stating I will be going to hell if I died today. Very strange and gave me cult vibes. A lot of us just went for a turkey that we signed up for and did not even get that after sitting there for hours. In summary, I am a religious person and did not agree with their teachings. And I did not appreciate making us wait almost 6 hours for a $25 voucher. Their intention should have been clear.

The speaker clearly spoke from conviction rather than a need to please others. He made Old Testament stories interesting and relevant while weaving in familiar Christian themes, including C.S. Lewis quotes, in a way that felt thoughtful and engaging. I especially appreciated the explanation of communion and the emphasis on how the way of Jesus is countercultural, particularly in contrast to some of the more toxic tendencies of our current culture. The commentary on how parts of the mental health industry can imply that healing is not really possible, and how medications often numb rather than cure, really resonated with me. The staff and attendees were also very friendly and welcoming. The overall atmosphere honestly gave me Trader Joe's vibes, warm, approachable, and community oriented. I did not expect the abundance of free food, ranging from donut holes to McDonald's breakfast sandwiches. While some of the sandwiches were cold, a few were mislabeled, and the American cheese was not the best option, the gesture itself was very generous. I would love to see healthier breakfast options in the future, such as fruit or more locally sourced items. That said, the beverages were high quality, from tea including Yogi tea to coffee and lattes, and I appreciated the free ear buds, internet, and toiletries (tampons, etc) available in the women's bathroom. A couple of practical notes: the chairs may not be comfortable or accessible for someone in the 300 to 500 pound range and appear to be repurposed from when the building was a school. It still says Woodrow Wilson Middle School outside, which can be a bit confusing at first. They may also benefit from opening up more seating to give people additional space. Overall, this church felt authentic, welcoming, and grounded in conviction rather than performance. I left feeling encouraged and would absolutely return.

The Head Pastor, Aaron, is a dynamic and energetic speaker who is able to deliver messages that interest a diverse group of individuals. He is unafraid to tackle to the difficult and challenging passages in the Bible, but strives to keep his messages accessible to even the newest student of Christianity. The congregation's in-house band, Bound No More, provides an eclectic mix of contemporary praise and worship songs every week, some from famous artists and some original works. The atmosphere, as one would expect from a ministry aimed at the biker community, is very relaxed. You can wear your best suit or dress, but the majority of the crowd will be in leathers and jeans with tattoos on full display. The congregation is large enough to provide a solid base of support and offers a number of services, including multiple Bible study classes, a men's group, a ladies' group, and a youth ministry, but is small enough to provide a sense of close community and family. The church family is very inviting and non pressuring. There is no collections during the service, which I personally found comforting, as a visitor. The message is clear, bible based. This ain't no fancy looking church. In fact, you wouldn't know it's a church at all if it didn't have big letters out front that say "Access Church". It's in a strip mall, and one that's not necessarily nice or super clean overall. But Access brings up the average. Inside, it's more spacious than you'd expect. There's a nice greeting area, and they even serve free Concord coffee every Sunday (a great local shop)! The volunteers always have huge smiles on their faces and make you feel welcome without it being overwhelming. They give you a program before the service starts, along with a pen so that you can take notes if you want or in case you forgot something to write with. The worship style is much more modern, a little bit concert-like but in a good way. And they still sing a lot of the better known worship songs which I appreciate. The main pastors are so genuine and usually bring a good message. They don't over complicate things but hit you right where you need at times. It took me a couple years to find a church in Lakeland that I truly felt comfortable in, but from the moment I attended Access it captured me with the intentionality. After my first visit I chatted with some workers and they even gave me a first time gift. Access has weekends where you can volunteer at local nonprofits and help out. They hold small groups every week and baptisms once a month. Their Sunday services usually last around an hour, just enough but not too long. It's a great place to come and get your Jesus fill!

The ritual is predictable and always ordered. I brought my own combined book of common prayer / hymnal to use during the service. However, display screens are used throughout, so there was minimal use of the books. A lot of people dressed casually, especially the children, while others dressed in traditional "Sunday best." Coffee fellowship is offered after the service.

We are always welcomed here by staff and priests. They even knew us by name after a few visits. Our kids enjoy the faith formation classes and being apart of everything church related. It's absolutely beautiful here and we enjoy the beautiful grounds. Just when we thought we've seen everything we find out there's more to see. We've had many sacraments here from our confirmation, wedding, and our children's baptisms and first communion. Always such beautiful ceremony's and more to come.
