Having known Chris since High School and having worked with him as an assistant for a wedding he photographed, I knew who he was, I knew his style and I knew his equipment. Before walking into the meeting, I had practically made my mind up already that he was who we would book, but I wanted Justin to meet him and I wanted to get those "warm fuzzies" from our conversation. After the meeting, we were thrilled to choose Chris to photograph our big day! First came our engagement shoot; like I said, I am also a photographer, but my goal was to act as though I had never held a camera in my life. Chris and his wife April took the reigns and helped Justin and I with the entire shoot from start to finish. When we saw the final product, we were over the moon!! With the engagement pictures out of the way, we certainly looked forward to what our photos would look like from our BIG day! Prior to our wedding day, Chris took the time to get every detail straight regarding wants/needs to ensure our wedding day was seamless. He showed up with a list on our wedding day of everything that we had discussed! During our ceremony and reception, Chris and his assistant were all over the place but never came across as invasive. In fact, at times I forgot they were there taking pictures (even when they were right in front of my face!). What an amazing time we had! Our wedding day came and went, but Chris is the one who will forever help us to cherish our "perfect" day in the form of his artwork. Our photos are stunning and our friends and family can't say enough good things about them. Communication was easy whether it was through email that included a bunch of questions or a simple text message asking for feedback or an opinion. As soon as we solidified that we would be using Kat's services I was able to share my pinterest board with her and she continued to check in on what ideas I continued to pin. On the day of our wedding she pulled out a binder full of all the photos I had pinned. I loved that she was always on top of it! I booked Kat with two other photographers for around 8 hours of service. Within my package it also included an extra mini photo shoot. I asked Kat to do a secret boudoir shoot with me and although not part of her normal requests she accepted with ease! She made me feel so comfortable during that shoot and created a small album I was able to gift to my husband on the morning of our wedding! On the day of the wedding, all three photographers showed up on time and began shooting in the hotel rooms, capturing the little details of my jewelry and personalized champagne flutes. During some group shots on the carousel they laughed with us during an injury that happened to one of the horses feet! Complete accident, but made for a story to tell in the long run. The ceremony was captured in just the way I asked including accommodating the hard shot of being behind my mom, step father and I to get the shot before we walked out. The reception photos were endless of our guests and my husband and I interacting with family and friends. They captured such FUN memories and even a romantic moment of my husband and I embraced in the love of the day slow dancing with everyone else on the dance floor. Not to mention there may have been a lift or two throughout some of the song choices! By the end of the night I asked what Kat and her team what they were still doing there and they said they were having so much fun! It truly made my night! To this day, Kat still answers my texts and will send any requests I may have whether it's a photo turned from black and white back to color or just simply a quick edit. We met with Jocelyn Voo over Zoom before moving forward with working with her for our special day as our photographer and our witness. Jocelyn was absolutely outstanding for more reasons than one. Firstly, we felt that she really "GOT" us, from start to finish. She listened to our vision (dark, moody, candid, casual, gritty) and as wild as some of our ideas were, she totally leaned in and delivered exactly what we were looking for! Secondly, when you're eloping just the two of you, having a third person present is intimidating; what if it's awkward? What if the vibes are weird? But Jocelyn was an absolute joy to spend time with! I'd go so far as to say that her presence made the day even more special. She asked us about our love story, she joked around with us, and seemed genuinely interested in who we were as people. This also impacted the photos, as you can see how comfortable we are and how much fun we're having. Third, Jocelyn is an expert at her craft, although not pretentiously so. Her website offers so much guidance on how the elopement process works. Her emails with us gave us contacts for who to reach out to for certain steps (We took pictures in the lobby of the Beekman and had to have permission granted; something we certainly wouldn't have known!) Not only did we consider Jocelyn our photographer, but our guide in the process of eloping. She also is an expert in that her photo-taking does not appear obvious! I was worried about having professional pictures taken of me in public, but onlookers barely noticed as Jocelyn very naturally pulled her camera out and snapped pictures. If you are eloping in NYC, there is simply no contest; Jocelyn at Everly Studios is your photographer. You won't regret it, and I genuinely believe our wedding day would not have been as smooth and enjoyable if it weren't for Jocelyn.

We had been in communication with Oliver for months in advance. About two weeks before the big day, we saw that the forecast called for showers throughout Memorial Day weekend, particularly the Sunday of our planned cruise. We monitored the weather and decided to make a decision closer to the day. Throughout the entire process of planning, Oliver was responsive, reliable, accommodating, and kind. On the morning of the trip, Oliver gave us multiple options and worked with us to make sure that we could cancel and get a full refund due to the inclement weather. He provided us with agency up to the last hour of decision making. On a day that could have been really stressful, Oliver alleviated some of that stress. That is exceptional customer service, and that is the reason we will be coming back to the Argia for another special occasion. The boat has different seating options - wooden benches and cushion seats without backrests. We reserved two of the cushioned areas and showed up ready to check in on time (they ask you to show up about 30 minutes before boarding to check in). You board at the dock just next to the bridge in Mystic, so it couldn't be more convenient if you're exploring Mystic for a day or a weekend. The Argia allows you to bring alcohol (wine and beer) on board (although they ask that you not bring large coolers - there's no room for them), so we brought a couple of bottles of wine bought from the great wine shop down the street. The sail is partly narrated. Our sail was two hours long, and the staff narrated for some of the sailing time - pointing out historic and interesting sites along the sail (islands with an interesting history, homes with interesting architecture, etc.). Between the gorgeous scenery, some narration of fun and interesting facts about Mystic and its harbor, the great wine we'd brought aboard, and great company - it was the perfect way to spend a couple of hours in Mystic. What a beautiful way to enjoy Mystic and its harbor!

Last week a family member and I brought our kids (3 10-year olds and a 13 year old) on a 5 hour trip and we caught over 25 stripers (5 keepers, a lot over slot), our kids were completely exhausted by hour 4 and most had passed out in the cabin. The first mates we've had have always been fantastic, but on this trip Jessica was next-level. She was amazing with the kids, knew what she was doing and was unbelievably personable. From booking the the trip with Admiral Amy, to talking with Captain Kevin and working with the first mate, every part of interacting with Reelin Sportfishing Charters is a pleasure. There's a reason that I keep coming back. Keep in mind that this is fishing and some times the fish are finicky, but Kevin has always managed to put us on the fish! You can't go wrong with Reelin.

Well, you probably should have told us that when we called & by the way we are 40 years old and had a couple cans of beers in the cooler. Not 21 years old with beer bongs. Anyway, the 3 beers were under all the ice and under our food,pop, waters so we left them and planned on not drinking them. Later at noon we went to get our sandwiches and the staff had sneakily went through the cooler and took them. Really? We didn't care that it was a dry trip, but very pissed someone would go through my belongings without me present. Last, I realize the charter can't necessarily guarantee catching a fish. However, no one was catching and it was advertised as a bass & blue fishing trip and then was changed to a fluke trip when we got on board. Here's a tip: change the name from "party fishing boat" to "sneaky rip off".

Upon unveiling of the photos, we simply fell in love, however, weren't ready to spend the pricing that was attached to these. Kelsey, the woman who did the presentation made us feel very uncomfortable and when we told her we could not afford these photos in excess of over $1,000, ...excuse me portrait, because I was corrected multiple times when I said photos, her face spoke louder than she did. I paid $200 for retainer I was told was refundable specifically NOT towards the price of the artwork. Kelsey kept trying to rein us in and after specifically telling her that we were not interested, we finally walked away with $500 worth of digital photos due to it being our senior dog and didn't want to lose a precious memory. I am very unimpressed with this company and I'm sad that I fell for this. The communication was horrible with this and we were under the impression that the 8 x 10 artwork would actually be valuable and a presentable piece that was able to be hung in our Home. All in all I felt it this was a sales tactic, and we got looped in.

We simply gave him the schedule and locations for our wedding day, and he took it from there. It is invaluable working with a vendor who you trust because there are so many other things to think about during the planning process. Throughout the course of the day, Chris did his thing without getting in the way of us or our guests. We barely knew he was there except for the fact that him and the other cameraman actually got in our photo booth and signed our guest book! Shantel does some minor editing and the pictures turn out really natural, so it's not too much which I prefer. Shantel must be one of the most creative people I've ever met. She's done several photo shoots for us in different themes (Christmas, Easter, newborn and family pics after our second was born) and every time we were very pleased about the results. SLB Photography looks for nice backdrops and props according to your style or requests. We've never really given her any suggestions and just let her do what she felt was right for the occasion, and we don't have any regrets! When you book a session with SLB Photography, don't expect to come in a professional photo studio. Shantel does the photo shoots at her house (or on location), but I feel like this is definitely a plus if you have a session with kids! Because she has a toddler, there are plenty of things/toys to distract your kids during the session or in between while Shantel changes her sets. She's also really good with the kids. I would give SLB Photography 5 stars but only gave her 4 because I wouldn't be able to give her more stars in the future, because I'm sure when she gets even more experienced that her work would be absolutely perfect!

Greg is the kind of guy you'd WANT to spend the afternoon with, like an old friend, or a life-coach, a coffee buddy! When trying to find the right photographer, more often than not, you're choosing based on his/her portfolio alone, but that's only the half of it. Being able to establish a great relationship is one of the most important things to consider when selecting a photographer. You want someone that you're comfortable with and someone that can read your personality well enough to capture you at your best. No awkward poses or artistic angles gone awry. Someone who is professional and knowledgable, but also incredibly fun. Greg has all those qualities and more! I felt ridiculously comfortable and trusted him wholeheartedly. He possesses a rare understanding of the performer's perspective in the business. There was a really solid dialogue between the two of us regarding what I was looking for and how I wished to improve upon my old headshots. Before, during and after the shoot, he was exceptionally helpful. Greg also had incredible feedback about wardrobe. Greg kept me on task while allowing me to shine. And he would show me pictures on the screen on back of his camera during the shoot and we would talk about what was working and what wasn't. Greg also gives amazing direction... Both emotional and physical/mechanical direction - "Tell me about your favorite thing you did on your most recent trip to Disneyland", "Tilt your head, chin up, shoulder forward, twist your torso just a touch to the..." etc! Whatever I needed, he was right there with encouragement, support and a smile. I couldn't be happier with the whole experience!
